    Pros +

    • Stay for two nights in early January. Simple accommodation but perfect for our (father/son) needs. A small charming hotel in a small town at high elevations. We booked it at the last minute when we decided to stop at Verbier to ski for a day on our trip (20m to the lower lift that takes one to Verbier). The bathroom was supposed to be shared among the 3 or 4 rooms, but we never ran into anyone. The hosts were helpful, the breakfast was great, and we recommend the hotel.
    • I slept one night during a long hiking tour. The room was excellent, great value for location/ services. The staff was very kind and also accomodating with providing the option of an early breakfast so that I could take off at 6:30. I would greatly recommend it!
    • Nice people. Good place

    Cons -

    • Swotserland so expensive
    • Nothing, we both thought it was great.
    • There was no television or table in the room but there was a chair. It was a single room with a bed and fountain and a cubboard.

The staff were very helpful. The room was clean and spacious.

Staff were very friendly and, whilst it is a very basic hotel, the hotel was warm and comfortable. Dinner and breakfast were good. Would definitely stay here again.

Nothing, we both thought it was great.

Great location in the center of town — close to grocery stores (x 2) and restaurants. We stayed in a double twin room with private bathroom. Wonderful host family and very kind employees! We had several meals at the restaurant — great mixed salad, pizza, fondue and schnitzel!

The hotel has all the basic stuff. Personal was very helpful. This town surprisingly has quite good hiking trails. And the food in the restaurant was very good

It is worth driving the distance if your budget is restricted.

The hotel and the rooms are simple but nice and clean.Toilet and shower are shared, but there were 2 showers and 2 toilets in 3 locations for 4 rooms, plus a sink in the room. The staff / owner was exceptionally helpful, letting us check in well before the official check in time, providing the possibility for a breakfast in the middle of the night, letting us leave our luggage in the morning. Perfect customer-oriented service. Dinner in the restaurant was also great, maybe the best cheese fondue we have ever had, and again, the service was perfect.

There is very little protection from the noise other guests make, e.g. when coming in their room, going to the toilet, even just talking... you hear basically every move in the rooms around you.

Good location. Lovely staff very friendly and helpful. Food served at the restaurant is good. The room is good value considering this is Switzerland.

Bed is not very comfortable, mattress a bit old. Could add a small cheap tv in the room.

Location was good as i was travelling to northern italy.

One of the poorest hotels i have had the misfortune to stay at in the last 40 years. Run down dark and dingy. Locked out when i went for a meal across the road as the hotel restaurant was closed. Bedding was old and dark and the pillows provided were appalling. There were flies everywhere none more so than at breakfast where they were all over the bread! Nothing of interest in liddes a very quiet small village, but if desperate it will serve as a stop over.

The room was spacious and clean. The view was spectacular. They have good food as well.

Food was a little pricey. I had a steak i asked medium but it was well done. Still taste ok though.

This hotel is part way up the Grand San Bernadino Pass on the Swiss side. It is in a very small town but in a beautiful location. It is a small hotel with good facilities. The breakfast was very good. There are limited eating facilities in the town.

We were on the second floor so the lack of a lift needs to be taken into account. this did not worry us but might concern some travellers.

Stayed 1 night, 2 hikers.Hotel du Gd-St-Bernard is ideal as a starting point for tour des Combines (TDC) hikers. It is 6 km hiking from Mille Hut. It has a bar, breakfast, lunch and dinner services. The room was very spacious and cosy and the beds were comfortable, WiFi is good in both dining room and sleeping room. The hotel is 10-20 minutes by car from great st Bernard pass and it has a bus station next to it (both to the pass and Orsières).

    3MelodyPosted on: 9-9-2022

The food was very good in the restaurant for supper and breakfast.

The beds were very squeaky with every movement and the pillows were not adequate (even when rolled up into a ball....). I could hear the bed in the next room creaking when that person rolled over as well...

the location is amazing, the village of liddes is really nice for an evening walk

while the rustic feel is very charming it felt dated with poor noise insulation from other guests. the breakfast buffet was limited.
