Pros +
- For sure, it’s an amazing localisation and the view from the garden next to the hotel is just mind-blowing. The hosts were really, really friendly and they have quite a decent restaurant downstairs, so I would say that’s a huge plus.

- The owners are very friendly and helpful and the location is pretty good. You can walk to the lake where there is a camping area with restaurant and playground.
Cons -
- The water at the pool didn’t look clean. If you’re in the summer in the hot peak, there’s no AC. The place looks a bit old-school; however, this shouldn’t be surprising for anyone due to the name of this place. However, if you like the modern look of the apartment, that’s not for you.
- The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. It would be nice if there was some play equipment in the garden for children.
- I would say in its day this would have been the most fabulous of hotels, it just needs updating and a bit of money spent on it.

Very friendly staff Very helpful Very close to the Lugano lake with a magnificent view Bed was ok
Cleaning was not ok No shower gel or soap provided Stained sheets The couch was very disgusting - didn't even want to touch it
Super nice staff, quiet location, dog friendly, spacious room
Very firm beds
The room was equipped with the essentials- take a cork screw !! The hosts were delightful and we were made to feel very welcome. The room was well positioned and comfortable- we were on the ground floor and access to two doors opening to the wonderful gardens . The pool looked good but we didn’t try it. Breakfast was a good continental. Despite heavy thunderstorms during the night we really enjoyed our stay. The restaurant below - a separate business but food and service just as good .
We didn’t seem to be able to access the lake easily because of the campsite using the shore but the walk into town is about 25 minutes
The owners who run the place are the most amazing couple, so friendly and helpful and Camilla their little poodle is the cutest member of staff!!! I cannot rate this place high enough, it’s like home from home, I would come back in a heartbeat!
Just the bed. Was a little uncomfortable, but that’s only for me as I have a bad back!
Pleasant
The room was too dusty, it is a nice building and could be better after a renovation
Friendly helpful hosts. Amazing views, comfortable stay. Restaurant below, food is excellent!
Staff was niceLocation next to beach

Do not stay
Booked for 2 nights via Booking.com. We left on 9/9/23 and paid for 2 nights plus breakfast and drinks. Then got @n 3mail from Booking.com to say we were a “no show” on 8/9/23. Were charged €99 Euros.Sent several emails to hotel but 5hey did not reply. Booking.com equally poor as it took 5/6 phone calls to resolve. Wrote personal letter to Mr Fogel, the UK CEO and never got a reply. Sent email to Mr Fogel but again no reply. (Really surprised if this review gets posted)
We had only booked it for an overnight but this could be a good base in the region. Comfortable large rooms, garden with pool, restaurant just below and few within walking distance, it was really very nice. The room has a sideboard hiding a hidden kitchenette (we didn't use it) and a fridge (very useful in summer!)The garden and pool were delightful. Parking was well shaded by trees, keeping the car cool.
It is right by a busy road and the parking is on the other side of the road. There isn't really an easy through road going towards Chiasso, though the winding hills route is rather impressive
The place is fantastic. The view from the pool is fascinating. Comfortable rooms. The hosts super friendly. Great for families
Lovely mini suite Backed onto garden Nice above ground pool to cool down in Fabulous staff all from same familyReally excellent restaurant underneath the hotel Ate there twice
Wi-Fi poor No toilet paper or toiletries
Great location, directly on the lake, just above the Antico Crotto restaurant. Great view from the pool, the garden is lovely! The owners are absolutely delightful and so nice! It was not easy as our Italian is almost inexistant, but they were so nice.
Sadly the pool is smaller than I thought and quite cold (a little heather would have been amazing but it was already great as is don’t get me wrong !)
Nice scenery, breakfast in the garden, pool with a view. Small kitchennette
Access from the street a bit complicated
Very nice host. Great garden. Small kitchen in the room
The room was a bit too old and could use rennovating
The Personal was great.Outside the Room, a really charmant place, we saw a little breakfast that looks really tasty. At least we checked in cause we needed one night, to stay anywhere. But the apartmant was a little old, clean but i would say the interieur was from 70/80 years. We were here with to little boys 2 and 4 years old, an the mattress and sleeping couch was in Bad shape. Really hard not comfortable.Independentely we paid 154 € per night.Unfortunately to much for this place.

The staff is incredibly friendly and relaxed. The place is dog friendly and a great hidden gem. We hope to return again.
