    Pros +

    • I did not get to stay at the hotel due to a flight cancellation.
    • Super good breakfast cakes :-) - overall breakfast is satisfactory and standard (omelettes cost extra). The suites are huge and comfortable (sadly no balconies but good views) with fully equipped kitchens for a longer stay.
    • From start to finish, everything about our experience at this hotel was outstanding. The reception team set the tone from the moment we arrived — incredibly professional, genuinely courteous, helpful, and a real pleasure to interact with. While the property itself has historic charm (as the name suggests), it’s immaculately maintained. You can feel the pride and respect that the staff have for both their work and their guests — it brings the whole place to life in a unique way.Our room (an executive suite) was spotless, spacious, and fully equipped with everything we could possibly need. We were even welcomed with a lovely bottle of wine from the hotel director — a thoughtful touch that made us feel truly valued.Breakfast was generous and satisfying, and having convenient parking right at the hotel entrance was a big plus.A special mention must go to Vironica — the extraordinary woman who manages the restaurants. Her warmth, energy, and top-tier service elevated our entire experience. She brought a personal touch to every meal, and her joyful presence made each interaction a delight. The pizza we had at the hotel’s pizzeria? Quite possibly the best we’ve ever tasted — absolutely unforgettable. The location couldn’t be more perfect — just a 6-minute drive to St. Moritz, surrounded by breathtaking alpine scenery, lakes, and postcard-worthy views in every direction.Hotel Bernina isn’t just a place to stay — it’s the reason we’ll be coming back to this region again, perhaps in the winter next time. A truly special experience.

    Cons -

    • When I approached the staff about the possibility of a refund or to move the dates for my stay, they were rude and unhelpful. An airport worker strike cancelled my inbound flight a few days before and the staff were slow to respond and impolite.
    • slightly inconvenient parking (and somewhat limited). (Not the hotels problem per se :-) )Samedan is relatively a quiet place with limited food options in summers - something to be aware of :-)
    • Nothing special

I liked everything but the cost. Beautiful property, nice front desk agent who was very helpful, good breakfast and nice staff there too. Great location.

    The bed was really hard.

Staff extremely friendly and helpful, Room spacious, breakfast was very good

Breakfast is only available till 10am, many things are quite old, a bit overpriced of what you get

We were very happy with our stay. The staff was very helpful and friendly, we enjoyed the dinner at the hotel’s restaurant and had a lovely time overall. Location is great as the bus station is in front of the hotel and the train station a 5’ walk.

We were extremely lucky as we were upgraded to the most incredible suite - the staff was wonderful, they were friendly, knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. We were also super lucky to have a half board booking and dinner was incredible - the options were wonderful! Breakfast was also perfect - and the room it is served in is just simply lovely. All in it was a very memorable stay and I can’t wait to go back! Already booking my next visit. Also the price was really reasonable!

Full of character Clean and comfortable Veronica in the restaurant was lovely The breakfast room is stunning

An excellent hotel. Comfortable rooms and a beautiful breakfast hall with views of the mountains.

In the shower box was left a dirty towel with some solution on it, on the bidet was left a thrown towel. The travel size

The hygiene/cleaning of the apartment, especially of the bathrooms was the poorest/worst I’ve ever seen no matter the hotel category/level or location in the world! I have never experienced such a low level of cleaning.

Spacious room (suite). Breakfast was super. Great choice and nicely presented. Fab that a juicer was available for guests to use!

Dated lighting system. No overhead lights for the main living area. Sockets at the bedside couldn't be accessed as bedside cabs. and headboard joined together as one piece. So we had to charge our phones using the ground floor sockets on the far wall. Main lighting was by a table lamp and standard lamp only, which couldn't be used whilst charging phones. This arrangement was inconvenient at night. The one UK TV channel not available - poor/ no signal.TV had no connectivity - model looked to be at least 15 years old.

We loved the suite, breakfast and dinner served in the restaurant. With the free train and bus passes we could get to any point in the region and around towns. The spa was great to relax after a day out.Staff went out of their way from the check-in, in the restaurant to the spa to make it an unforgettable experience at Hotel Bernina 1865.

    Nothing, it was excellent!

    Not recommended at all

Front desk Terrible! Check in start at 15:00, we got room at 17:00, no info about breakfast time, spa ( everything need ask) no bathrobe in room, no lift to 1 floor with children stroller and luggages, no clean glasses in front desk with welcome drink ( everything need ask- tragic)

Nice comfortable room; clean; rich breakfast.Best for quality/price ratio.

    6JudithPosted on: 12-14-2024

It is a nice hotel in a good location with friendly staff

unfortunately the spa wasn‘t open and the breakfast buffet had no warm dishes.

    8MswchPosted on: 11-5-2024

Not too bad, got an upgrade, check in was easy, location good, breakfast was good as well. Rooms were quite.

Staff at breakfast was clearly very sick - should not handle food. Parking is not guaranteed, you need to be lucky to get a spot when you come back from dinner.

This has to be one of our best experiences to date. Everything from the dinner restaurant that they kept open for us since we were arriving late last night, to the beautiful rooms and views, to our delicious breakfast and the best service from Danielle at the restaurants and Giro at the reception. Can't wait to be back with our parents, an absolute delight. Only one regret, we wished we stayed longer!

    9SharonPosted on: 9-19-2024

The room where we had breakfast and the breakfast itself was MOST EXCELLENT!

The elevator was a bit scary.
