Hotel Restaurant Schiff

Lake view, great breakfast, kind service, spacious room. The hotel was extremely clean. Snacks and water were provided in the room. You could also fill your bottle of water in the corridor. Magnificent location to public transport (Pffäfikon SZ train station/bus 180). Additionally, there is a nice park at the lake nearby where in summer days one can chill. A morning run at the lake was a cherry on the cake!

Was fine, you can eat outside by the water (just watch that the birds dont take a sample :)

The hotel is a short walk from the Vista eye clinic (one of us was having cataract surgery) and from the Seebadi Pfaffikon, for swimming in Lake Zurich (for the other one). We had a nice fish dinner in the restaurant and a more relaxed tapas-style meal in the See Rose bar (good negronis!). Our room was spacious and the bathroom was modern. Parking was on the property and free. The hotel is also not very far from the train station. Breakfast was good. The view from our room and at breakfast was delightful. There is a nice walk nearby through a small park.

Our room was in an old part of the hotel with an extremely slanting floor, which didn't really bother us, but should be mentioned. The flat screen TV was tiny (tucked away innovatively behind a small door) and located in such a way as to be impossible for 2 people to watch in comfort -- again, it didn't really bother us, but should be mentioned.

Gorgeous location with beautiful views from the room, lots of dining options within metres, high level of cleanliness, very friendly staff.

Creaky floors, which is very charming and common in such places but also makes me feel guilty when walking around at night. The opportunistic but cute birds in the outside dining area trying to steal one's breakfast.

Location close to the lake. Reception was great. Lunch at the hotel was good.

Had breakfast outside. It took sometimes for the staff to clean the table close to us which attracted birds (eating the crumbs and leftovers of bread)

Large room - we stayed in room 53. Lovely view of the lake. Great shower. Excellent food in the restaurant.

Room was a little warm however a fan was provided and we were able to open the windows

What a charming hotel - right on the water with boats and swans. The restaurant food was fantastic and the staff was super nice and helpful. Details like welcome letter and fruit was thoughtful.

Bed is a little short for a 6'4" person, but otherwise comfy.

The location was very nice, right on the lake and the hotel as a whole was pleasant. There was a simple but good continental breakfast included in the price. The staff were very pleasant. The room was big and the bed comfortable.

The TV in the room was the size of an iPad and the room was a bit faded and perhaps in need of a refurbishment, particularly given the high price (for us). There was a party in the hotel, seemingly in a room right underneath ours, and it was very loud until after midnight. It would have been good to have been informed beforehand (with perhaps the possibility of choosing another room less affected).

The location is close to the railway station and the food in the restaurant is excellent!

It was difficult to find the place in the dark, there are no signs for the railway station. The wifi password is not offered at the check-in, I had to ask about it in the restaurant.

The hotel is really great and its location is fantasctic, the room is spacious enough and very clean. the staff is helpful and kind.

The only downside was internet connection in the room, it did not work menawhile in the rest of the hotel was ok.

I booked and paid for a room for 2 but was given a single room with towels and comforter for one person. They admitted mistake but gave NO PARTIAL REFUND because I booked thru Booking.com. Breakfast was thin and everything ran out

What makes this hotel is its setting right on the lake with its own boat jetty. There can’t be many hotels better situated than this, it is absolutely beautiful. Having your breakfast outside with the sun rising, or dinner in the evening with the sun setting is special and something we will not forget. There is also a walk along the lakeside which is a must while you are here.The hotel itself is quite basic, simple but functional furnishings, small but adequate bathrooms, open hanging rail, low wooden framed beds, but everything was spotlessly clean and well maintained. The staff were very helpful with the table service both efficient and informative.

Parking could be an issue as there are insufficient spaces for the number of rooms available, plus other customers patronising the restaurant can also take up spaces. If you can’t get a Hotel spot then you have to pay between the hours of 09.00 - 21.00.We ate in the restaurant on the first night and we thought that the choice was quite limited, the food quality average and the prices very expensive, even for Switzerland, i.e. baked Perch with potatoes 47CHF, vegetarian Risotto 31CHF, Gin & Tonic 12.50CHF, a bottle of still water 8.90CHF, 0.5 Litre of Lager 5.90 CHF. The setting and ambience of the place made up for the hefty bill at the end.The only real downside for us was with the window open the noise from the train lines that run 250 metres behind the hotel. Our room number was 7, which is on the west side of the hotel overlooking a field of grass with the train lines beyond. Trains are back and forward every 15 minutes, day and night, so if you have the windows open and are a light sleeper you may want to bring some ear plugs with you. Rooms on the other elevations of the hotel may not experience this issue.

Lovely location on the lake and we had lake view. Food excellent if a little expensive

No light on the balcony but when we did move a lamp we did get some large insects so please it had fly screens and can understand why no light.

noisy nights, especially from people moving upstairs, but also from conversations in the hotel's restaurant below, and music from nearby places.

The location is fantastic. Fabulous morning coffees on the terrace by the lake.Everything clean, functional and friendly.

Some rooms are fabulous and spacious with a view of the water. My room was small looked away from the water.
