Ekho Safari Tissa

The staff of the hotel, especially the receptionist we spoke with, was very helpful and friendly. We tried to check out two days early, and she did everything she could to help us.

The photos online are EXTREMELY misleading, as the hotel is very run-down; a staff member said he booked us a trip for a 05:00 safari, but the next morning, there was no tour, no driver, no one knew what was going on. The restaurant was full of flies.

Need to maintain properly to keep its standards We stayed here when the hotel had a soft opening and we can now see that it's wearing out.

This hotel is a real gem! With rooms facing the lake and an island with dozens of birds, this is the right place to organize a safari in the YALA reserve. The hotel staff is friendly, smiling, pleasant, and very efficient. The room was very comfortable, and the meals varied and satisfying. Highly recommended. (Don't forget to look at the small pool at the reception - ornamental fish and frogs that land on the leaves of the water plants).

Lovely view across the lake from the pool. The restaurant and housekeeping staff were very helpful. Good sized room, clean and welcoming. Good sized bathroom with hot shower.

Miscommunication regarding our safari booking. It was resolved eventually.

I can not think of what was nice because of food poisining

During my honeymoon stay, I experienced a confirmed case of food poisoning after having dinner at the hotel. The buffet did not look fresh or appealing, so I ordered shrimp and spaghetti instead. A few hours later, I became extremely sick. From around 10–11 PM until early morning, I was vomiting non-stop and also had severe diarrhea. I couldn’t sleep at all and was in terrible condition the whole night. The next morning, I visited a doctor who diagnosed food poisoning and prescribed the following medications:•Ciprofloxacin 500 mg – twice daily•Probiotics – once daily•Omeprazole 40 mg – once daily•Domperidone 10 mg – three times dailyThe incident happened yesterday, and until now I still have not been able to eat anything. I had to cancel all my tour plans, activities, and the rest of my itinerary because of this situation. What should have been a memorable honeymoon trip turned into days of pain and recovery.I am not asking for compensation, but I strongly urge the hotel management to take this matter seriously, investigate their food handling and hygiene standards, and ensure that no other guest has to experience this. A sincere apology and corrective action are expected.

Ekho Tissa was a lovely, well-located hotel on a beautiful lake with very attentive staff who were all focused on making sure I had a lovely stay. The view from my room of the lake was beautiful and the lakeside pool was another bonus. Nice place to unwind after a safari.

It is an older hotel, however, that did not bother me (I've seen in the comments that some people flagged that as a concern) but they are in the process of making renovations to update the space.

Great staff, great food

Room on higher floor, tons of kids very early in the pool, making a racket

Amazing hotel! Great and friendly staff! They accomodated all our requests! Breakfast and buffet dinner are excellent!! Highly recommended!!

The ambience of the lobby and the lake view was nice.

The bathrooms in the room could use a little updated. It would be nice to have a larger mirror in the bathroom.

Great location on the water. My room was newly renovated and faced the island where birds were roosting. Staff were very pleasant and a clear effort was made to cater to westerners, and especially British, in the dining room buffet A strong breeze would blow in at night which made it pleasant to sit in the garden area overlooking the pool.

Some of our group were allocated rooms that had not been renovated and had many deficiencies. They also said their rooms were dirty but this was not my experience.

Very nice location near lake and Yala.Staff was very welcoming and helpful.Breakfast has many choices and was very tasty.

Walls are little bit “old”, just a bit wall painting and it can look much better.

The natural beauty of Thissa Lake is truly exceptional. In the evenings, you can enjoy a breathtaking sunset with a colorful sky and many birds around the lake. The view from the pool is also wonderful. The whole atmosphere is very calm and peaceful.

The staff and receptionist did not offer a warm welcome, which made the check-in experience unfriendly. The room condition was also below expectations, with visible scratches and patches on the walls

I stayed at EKHO Hotel in Yala for one night, and it was a wonderful experience. The hotel has an amazing view and offers excellent facilities. The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and attentive, which made my stay even more enjoyable. The location is perfect, making it easy to explore the area, and I really appreciated the top-notch service throughout my stay. Overall, it’s a beautiful hotel with great hospitality, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Yala.

Location is good

Good hygiene as we had mosquito in the fruits However the staff was very kind and they cooked separately food for us

We love the bed and pillows. The bedsheets are super soft too. Rooms are good size with great view. We love the property location such a beautiful view of the lake and lil island that house a lot birds. The sunset was incredible when we were there.

We would have given the place 10 but we feel the food wasn’t that great. This could be improved. Hence we gave 9

I’m so happy to share my feedback about Eco Safari Hotel! The entire experience was peaceful and relaxing. The rooms were exceptionally clean and hygienic, creating a very comfortable atmosphere.A special mention goes to Ms. Sachini at the reception—she gave a wonderful first impression with her polite and friendly attitude. Pavesha from the restaurant staff was also incredibly helpful, always attentive to guests’ needs. The food was absolutely delicious, a real highlight of the stay! The swimming pool area was well maintained, and lifeguard Sashmitha was very friendly and welcoming, always with a beautiful smile.Overall, full credit goes to the amazing staff and the management. It truly was a five-star experience!

Nice pool, large room (suite) with good bed and good airco We took a takeaway breakfast on safari. Nice

Room was ok, pretty clean, but they keep some light on outside the window and the light didn’t help me to sleep wellThe pool is quite nice, restaurantes are ok and food was bellow my expectations… menu said risotto and they just serve yellow rice ?

There is not lift, so you need to carry on your bags trough the stairs

Location, staff.

Room was small.Price was a bit too much for the offered facilitiesQuality of materials was not upto the markBugs in the room

Not recommending this hotel.

The staff was not friendly. During check-out, one staff member treated me very poorly, and I had to escalate the issue to the General Manager. The room I was given did not match the one advertised on Booking.com. It had a broken mirror, ants around the tea/coffee area, and insects were present in the bathroom.
