Pros +
- Conveniently placed, not far from Azay le Rideau village. Plenty of parking, gas station on the other side of the street. Friendly staff.
- Very friendly staff, good sized room with very efficient aircon. Really nice to have an onsite restaurant with freshly cooked food, a decent wine list and nice cheese board. Easy to park too.
- Ideally located for us on our motorbike journey to and from Morocco. Our rooms were all clean and comfortable, appointed with all the standard facilities present. Private parking for our bikes was a plus. The staff we met were all engaging and friendly. We ate in the restaurant, and our meals were all excellent. Breakfast was a very good buffet, and got us out and on the road happy. We would happily return and recommend.
Cons -
- The pictures of the facade are better than the reality. It is a decent hotel, more appropriate for a business stay than a leisurely one. Breakfast was quite basic.
- Gardens looking rather run down- but I arrived during a heatwave. It did spoil the impression a little.
- Exterior was a little tired looking and needed a clean.

The breakfast was excellent and the evening meal was very good. I would have preferred an extra fish choice but the meal I had was excellent, although perch was unusual for a British meal.
Exterior was a little tired looking and needed a clean.
Welcoming, efficient, clean, good location
It was all good, nothing to dislike
We stayed one night in the hotel, which is located on the outskirts of Azay-le-Rideaux. The staff was very welcoming and nice (add to this a parrot welcoming guests in the reception :)) The room was pretty big, with all the amenities, tea and coffee maker. The hotel is next to a pretty busy roundabout junction, but there is practically no noise, good windows. Had a good night's sleep.
Great location , super helpful staff a good stopping point for exploring the area or on the way home
Some bits are dated but still clean and welcoming
Comfortable room, good restaurant, easy assess
The continental breakfast was wide and varied. Location was ideal for easy access on main routes. Very friendly and helpful staff.
The toilet was in a very small space. Otherwise everything else was OK.
Staff, FOOD very good and location good.
Could have been cleaner, the hairdryer in the bath room was inefficient to say the least, there was another one provided that was covered in dust. The plastic mugs for cofee etc were stained, the tea bags were stale, sorry but the cleaner needs improvement. The bathroom mirror was far to high for me.
Lovely staff, great restaurant.
It was more or less in an industrial estate and the room was on the small side, the bathroom even smaller.
A wonderful place! Very convenient for visiting the castles nearby. Friendly and responsive staff. Thank you Philip! Clean, cozy and pleasant. Convenient parking in the yard, there is a charging point for electric cars. Extremely good food for dinner in the restaurant - delicious and French! I recommend!
Dinner was very good, but sadly they had run out of our first choice of steak. Excellent breakfast too. staff were charming and very helpful. the room was comfortable with nice outside space, handy for our dog.
Was expecting an older style quirky country house, which it definitely is not.
This was our 5th visit to this hotel and our third one with our little dog and, as always, was excellent. No complaints whatsoever.
comfortable bed, quiet room, lovely welcome and good service except on checking out.
food very average, wine very disappointing. hotel tired and in need of redecorating
Breakfast was a buffet with a great choice.
Didn’t match photos on any website, which were very misleading. The hotel was, in fact, on a busy roundabout, with very little outside space, very noisy from the road. The description of Gourmande for the dinner was so wrong. The food was SO disappointing , and certainly nothing special, and not as good as most food in English restaurants.
The hotel was easy to find. There was plenty of outside space for parking and walking a dog. Staff were friendly and helpful. The evening menu was excellent and there was plenty of choice at breakfast. Will stay again.
Staff were nice on most occasions. Breakfast was fine, nothing amazing. The hotel is pretty clean, lots of parking available... Dinner in the restaurant was fine and tasty but the portions were really small... The parrot is very cute.
We only spent a night there but wouldn't go back, especially for £140/night..we stayed in cheaper and much nicer places in France- we had a faulty air conditioner in our room which was making a loud buzzing noise every 15-20 seconds or so EVEN WHEN TURNED OFF (wish Booking would let me upload a video of it). We called reception because it was making sleep impossible and they had a very disappointing attitude. They didn't seem to think having no AC in the middle of summer was an issue (even though the AC was one of the reasons we chose this hotel). They didn't even come to have a look at it, couldn't give us another room, couldn't cut the power of the AC, couldn't suggest anything other than just putting up with it. In the end they offered some earplugs which I can't use anyway. No discount offered for advertising broken amenities, basically zero help to improve the situation. Felt like they were mostly in a rush to finish their shift. -shower wall was leaking water everywhere in the bathroom - ordered a main and a dessert for dinner in their restaurant and even though we don't usually eat very much, it was far from enough -the pictures are nicer than reality in my opinion
Location off motorway and near town Good breakfast and had gluten free bread and cakes.
Booked a meal but found it rather expensive for what we had. The lamb was cold and had to pay an extra 7 euros for it on top of price of set meal. Wasn’t impressed by it. Wished we had walked into town for the variety of restaurants that were there in a prettier setting than the hotel was.
Locatio, easy access, clean, air conditioning, comfortable bed, friendly helpful host, excellent food and wine.
