Nice location and close to motorway junction
Room looking tired and in need to re decorating
The standard room was comfortable, bed and bathroom warm and cosy. But surprising that you walk straight from the carpark into your bedroom - without even a doormat to clean your shoes. Breakfast was good too - copious quantities.
The restaurant was very expensive. The food was nice but nothing special and the service was negligible. eg candles on the table not lit. The waiter took away the amuse bouche while I was actually still eating, in order to serve the starter.
Fine food and wine, comfortable room, quiet rural setting
The evening meal was wonderful and the breakfast was OK. Last time we stayed the breakfast was superb. This time less choice but quality was good
Have stayed here before and we really like the quality of the hotel rooms and the location is just great at 10 minutes from the motorway, major bonus we actually saw an otter on the river bank about 3 m behind our room!
Excellent location (below the road which quietened at night) Huge beautiful gardens and riverSensational restaurant with several generous extra touches before during and after dinner. Would highly recommend for restaurant with rooms in this area. Friendly patient staff.
Our basic bedroomWas fairly motel like but with marble shower room and very clean, functional.
Lovely restaurant.Ground floor rooms with easy access to large grounds for walking our dog.
The restaurant was outstanding. The staff was excellent- friendly and helpful. Close to town.
This is more of a motel than a hotel. The rooms are situated in a couple of long single story buildings that you park in front of separate from office/restaurant.The entrance is sliding glass door.
Breakfast was fantastic. Rooms are a bit dated and small, but beds were extremely comfortable. It was just an overnight stop over, but was great for our little westie.
Great location, lovely building and fab food (lots locally sourced). The staff were really helpful and friendly so don’t understand why some people have given some negative comments about the staff. Great pool set-up - lots of chairs, shade and free towels.
The standard rooms badly need updating - if you can go for a junior suite.
The location is wonderful, in a green environment, your relaxation starts upon arrival. The staff is very friendly. Breakfast is great, the restaurant is very good. Our dog loves this place. It is comfortable to be able to charge our car. This was our second time.
There is nothing we didn’t like. The only slight criticism is there seemed to be a shortage of restaurant staff.
Setting. Lovely swimming pool with towels provided. Very comfortable room and easy parking
Overpriced a la carte menu and wine with little alternative.Staff though polite seemed stressed and not very happy.
Location very close to town, but calm and secluded
The room was old, unclean and things were broken: carpet was stained and full of dust, dust was piling up everywhere- on top of the beds, inside the wardrobe, in all the corners -, mirror was fixed with scotch tape, phone was not plugged in and the plug could not be reached, shower was moldy and the glass was broken, toilet had not been cleaned in ages and had stains all over, the AC was impossible to turn off, hairdryer made more noise than air… The facilities were old and not taken care of (swimming pool floor was not so clean, sunbeds were mostly broken/very old…)
convenient location, easy to park car near hotel room, swimming pool is nice, beds are comfortable and room was cool
Hotel is geared towards tourists that stay only for one night, people not so friendly, no attention for detail (i.e. coffee cups left out at night were still there in the morning, same with towels near swimming pool etc. Hotel rooms lack charm and a place to sit outside, with hindsight we should not have stayed here for a couple of days
Beautiful propertyFantastic restaurant for both breakfast and dinnerGood parking
Air conditioning didn’t work properly in the first room so we changed rooms but it appears it is centrally controlled and so goes off overnightNo refreshments in the room
The location is excellent. Good parking. Quiet. Lovely setting. Food fine. Staff very willing but not very organised.
Nothing. It was a very decent stay.
This is a beautiful location that could be a stunning hotel. But sadly it isn't.
The rooms outside the main hotel feel like a throwback to a 1970s holiday park. Doors open directly on to a shared area - either you are completely exposed to the whole hotel or you have to shut the doors. No effort to make the courtyard a nice space. The food at dinner was mediocre at best - duck breast not edible as very tough.
