    Pros +

    • We loved Chellah hotel. Looks like the bar it's a local's favorite, so have a great vibe. We didn't intent to spent time into the hotel, but the place, mostly the bar and the pool area, it posses a charm that you can't ignore. So we seated to have a digestive after dinner in a near restaurant. Pay attention to the amazing panel wood and doors of the restaurant and to the old posters hanging near to the reception area and in the first floor corridor. The night bellboy is such a character -really, you can imagine the guy is a creation of one of the many writers that had lived in Tangier. Unfortunately, didn't ask his name. And the neighborhood, oh God, such a beauty area. Amazing. Our room was comfortable and clean.
    • Room was as expected! Clean and comfy.
    • Very nice location to visit Tangier downtown. Good value for its price, clean and very friendly stuff.

    Cons -

    • Well, breakfast was awful. They can do better.
    • Nothing but noticed tv didn’t worked.
    • WiFi literally didn’t work. We didn’t have any internet at all. Staff unwillingly gave password but it didn’t work and they said unfortunately we can’t do anything, internet is poor here. When I asked anything basic, they said okay we will bring, but they didn’t. I all the time needed to go down, remind them and their face was reluctant. Food at the restaurant was not good. When I went to restaurant I couldn’t find anyone that could help me order. There wasn’t any air and people were watching football, very disengaged towards the customer. Most importantly, they don’t speak English. Even the word “hot water”.

Hotel was clean, but we couldn’t find a place for our car so we parked away from the hotel..

The price is too much and expensive for this hotel with 3*

Very clean, the staff were friendly and nice

Some of the staff were nosy

I had a wonderful view of the pool and court yard with live music every night. The staff is so kind and helpful. Close to stores and restaurants.

The bed was a little firm for me. But I do like it softer than many!

This has a retro feel about the place but was really good value. We loved the pool area and the gardens. It was quick to the beach and loads of places to eat near by and in the hotel. The room was a classic 3 star with a good tv and nice bathroom. Close Walk to Medina as well!

You pay for what you get!

    Very friendly staff.

The breakfasts were very basic. The main bar was closed for three nights because of the Jazz Festival :(

The hotel is old and was definitely a site to see in its prime. That said, the hotel was a great value. The room was large and with a balcony overlooking the pool. While the internet was not fast, it was more than enough for basic work. Late at night, I could even stream an NBA game with only a few issues. I also liked they had an open bar that was pretty busy on Saturday night. Many foreigners playing card games and talking.

The room did have a slight scent to it but I think it may have been because of a wood burner to heat the place. However, I do think this place was worth it for the price. We thought about a place that looked more comfortable for twice the price but have no regrets on booking this.

    The location

We used this hotel for many years, but this time they gave us a really bad room, toilet smell and awful view.If this is how returning customers are treated, ... Feel bad for new customers

A lovely hotel, slightly faded grandeur, with Moroccan style decor, dark carved wood and lattice staccato, doormen were courteous and in traditional dress, and there is a Jazz Bar with live music in the basement. I felt like I was in a 40's or 50's era movie, which I actually loved. The bedroom was clean and neat and had a small balcony overlooking the pool and garden area, and was cleaned daily. The breakfast, though limited in variety and the same every day, was fine, and the best part was the lady making and cooking crispy Moroccan folded pastries, and the man who would make you an omelette. So I was more than happy. The hotel has a Beach Bar, with live music on the weekend, at the beach, which is a 30 minute walk, or a 2 euro taxi ride, I was told they have a driver who will take you if you ask at reception. Sadly, I never had the chance to experience this due to my circumstances. Maybe next time. The Jazz Bar also served full meals which seemed to be served until 10pm. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. There are lots of places to eat nearby and the hotel is situated on the edge of the main city with big shops just 10 mins walk away, yet in a quiet neighbourhood.

I was here in January, so the hotel was very quiet, except at night when 2 of my 3 nights were disturbed by noisy folk in the next room, fighting, shouting and crying. I rang reception who came and spoke to them, but they carried on talking loudly out on the balcony, and raising and lowering the shutters very disrespectful guests. It would have been nice if the Jazz Bar music was a bit more upbeat and funky to dance to.

The staff, the room, the terrace were all great.Breakfast was unexpected, and astonishing. Fried eggs were great

The room didn’t have a side lamp or alternative lighting to main light. A little privacy screen from neighbours

    Helpful staff bellhop was excellent

Breakfast was excellent and the staff spoke English and were very helpful in getting some of my needs from the local market

The staff were very helpful. There was a mix up with our room but we were sorted out immediately. The shower was running cold and they fixed it immediately. The bar downstairs is really lovely.

The breakfast could have had more fruit

Smashing stay x 2. Fantastic buffet breakfast every morning and a great jazz bar in the basement with 3 excellent musicians from the Ivory coast playing nightly. Staff were very helpful and friendly and the location is fine, near cash points, an ice cream parlour and restaurants

    7MahabirPosted on: 1-14-2025

The hotel is located close to the city center and has a nice ambience/ reception area. Good Moroccan breakfast, although there are mostly sweet options.

There were 2-3 flies in our room when we checked in and had to request the staff to help us. The room does not have facilities like coffee maker/ kettle or hair dryer.

A true Moroccan palace with fantastic traditional decoration, served with the nicest and friendliest staff that spoke 4+ languages, always smiling people, perfect outdoor area atmosphere, perfectly located (far from the crowds yet close enough to the main points and medina on a 15 min walking distance), authentic Moroccan breakfast made right in front of you (I’m going to miss the Moroccan crepes), room in good maintenance, definitely the best price/quality hotel I’ve been in my life

    It doesn’t have a hairdryer

The pillows are good. It would have been grand many years ago

Old, dated bathroom with cracked tiles. Shower over bath. Bedcover needs replacing. Staff not friendly.
