    Pros +

    • Charming bed and breakfast boutique hotel, located in a building that was built in 1618. We stayed in a deluxe room which was rather spacious. We liked breakfast and food at the cafe was very good too. I liked their little wine cellar with a glass floor. Pool and jacuzzi was a great addition after a long day exploring the area.
    • Charm. Hosts. Architecture location near cancale but outside
    • Gorgeous Breton mansion tastefully converted into a lovely hotel. One wall of our room is the raw rock face so it’s like sleeping in a comfy cave. Spacious and spotless, we loved the style and especially the sumptuous and indulgent bathroom. The bed was an expensive and recent king sized one and the fixtures and fittings were all excellent. Breakfast was of the highest quality and with some notable local produce, too. The staff were excellent and very friendly and attentive. The grounds (and pool) were well landscaped and cared for … and it’s always lovely being surrounded by a field of frisky, happy horses.

    Cons -

    • nothin
    • Music in main reception room
    • As is common/normal in France you don’t get tea or coffee facilities in the room (there is a common lounge with this available but you can’t really go there in pyjamas). The mini bar selection was far too limited to tempt us to buy anything (note to owner: you’d make a fortune putting some expensive chocolate and savoury snacks in the fridge).

Very charming property just on the edge of Cancale where the countryside begins, but surprisingly close to amenities including a big supermarket. Generous breakfast and a good little pool area with a jacuzzi for extra measure.

Just the most beautiful little place in a stunning location with warm and friendly staff. Only stayed a night but wish we could have stayed for three to do some exploring in the region. Lovely

Nothing really. Breakfast was perhaps overpriced so we didn’t try it

    Nice pool areaFine breakfast

The pillows are very hard, it is like putting your head on a brick..It has a bit of a seventies vibe.

The charm, the peaceful location. Beautiful outdoor areas.

Even though the building is very charming the room itself needed some updating/renovation.

Beautiful area, peaceful and quiet. The breakfast was fresh and had a very good choice.

    Nothing at all.

A wonderful place to stay, excellently staffed, a gorgeous pool and hot tub, top-notch food in the morning, generous hosts and comfortable beds. All near Cancale which is a lovely town to visit.

It’s a little way out of town, but that’s not a huge problem.

    9JackiePosted on: 8-12-2023

Very charming hotel,in a countryside setting that is still only a short drive to Cancale and 20 mins from St Malo. We all agreed we’d have loved to stay a few more nights. Great breakfast and the swimming pool and Jacuzzi were both nice too.

Beautiful location. Historic buildings. Excellent house keeping and lovely comfortable suite of rooms. Well worth paying small upgrade. Good choice of breakfast items.

Location is a fair drive from Cancale so you need to organise a cab or nominated driver for dinner trips. On the other hand lots of good places to eat in Cancale and le Manoir is a lovely restful place to stay so worth very minor inconvenience....

The buildings were beautiful, there was a nice pool area, the room was clean and we could make coffee. The staff was nice and helpful.

The room was quite simple and old fasioned. Maybe the rooms on the other floors were better. The reception was open 8-20, it was located together with the bar. Hence we couldn't use the bar for a digestif. I would not say it's walking distance to the restaurants in the village. At least not back to the hotel.

From the moment we drove up we were in heaven. An idyllic setting. Beautiful landscaping, rolling hills, trees, horses, fountains; a lovely manorly house. Reception was exceptional. If you are staying in this area you must try to stay here. Only about 5 minute drive to Cancale, a lovely small oyster city!! Right on the waterfront....Breakfast was also lovely.. An array of cheeses/meats/eggs/bread. Looking out on that fabulous landscape!

It could not have been better...

Large room with comfortable bed. Large bathroom with bath and separate shower. Quiet. Heated pool and jacuzzi. Nicely renovated building. Decent breakfast.

A convoluted access route to the bedroom through Jack & Jill doors. It's a drive to the local restaurants.

    9JackiePosted on: 9-15-2022

Really liked the place, breakfast was great and the surrounding grounds and gardens were very nice.

We had a dog with us. Whilst very dog friendly we were on the 2nd floor which wasn't the most convinent location. Also the general information in the room could have been more comprehensive. None of this would put me off returning again.

A wonderful visit back in time - beautiful mansion on a large estate. It's a quiet spot with lots of green. The reception was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. The walk to the restaurant (100 steps) and the gallery of the viaduct very interesting and unusual. It was a nice walk back after dinner. The staircase leading up to the room is beautiful. The room was comfortable with all the amenities one needs.

Gorgeous 17th century manor in immaculate condition. Our room was beautifully furnished, spacious and very comfortable. Even our dog loved sleeping on the cozy couch! The property had a country feel even though it was only a few minutes from the center of Cancale.

    No complaints.

a nice, simple hotel overlooking countryside on the outskirts of cancale. the staff were very helpful

parking in cancale and st malo in august was a nightmare.

    7ThomsonPosted on: 7-7-2022

The hotel was set in pleasant grounds. The room was a good size. The jacuzzi and pool and patios were very much appreciated.

The hotel was quite some distance from the main port area of cafes and restaurants. The room was a little on the dark side. Gaining entry required holding one large heavy door open whilst having to open an even heavier door, with only room for one person to squeeze between, which made it difficult to carry cases in and out. There was no communal lounge area in the main hotel where we could relax and read; there was an area in the annexe, where we could make coffee. We considered 15 euros expensive for breakfast, so brought in our own croissants and ate them in the annexe.
