Hotel Abetaia

Quiet and peaceful.

Disappointed the restaurant wasn’t open as it’s a good 10-15 minute drive to Levanto and not recommended if you want to drink alcohol with dinner.

Location was wonderful for those who love nature. Be prepared to see other flights near the property and in front of windows, doors. Breakfast was plenty and good.

The windows should have screen doors so you can open them as the smell in the room wasn’t the best. Because the location is surrounded by nature/ trees and rivers there are lot of bugs. Light on the main entrance should be away from the door as the bugs were flying around it and get in the room as soon as you would open the door.

Very dog friendly, there were not many staff but the owner was always around to assist. Beautiful setting and a breath of fresh air compared to busy Levanto and Cinque Terre.

The air conditioning in the room wasn't working, we were told that due to the temperature being cooler than normal it had been switched off. We had to sleep with the window open, which wasn't ideal as the building is close to a main road.The restaurant is closed on Monday so we were hoping to eat there on Tuesday, however, it was closed again so had to drive back to Levanto town.

Humidity and even though the room was modern few things wanted to be renewed or fixed.

The owner was very friendly and welcoming and advised us on where to park in town..Room was spacious with balcony..Lovely relaxing setting.

Air-conditioning was a little noisy but minor issue

Nothing we did not like.Just a few recommendations for the future:- Blinding curtains would be nice in the room- A second dustbin in the room- A shower head in addition to the "rain" one (more ecological and easier to clean yourself)- At least one hour end-of-day with someone available at the reception (17h-18h) for example.

Beautiful and quiet family-run hotel in the woods. The owners are wonderful and their restaurant is (pricey but) highly recommend. Our room was big and comfortable, perfect for both long and short stays.

Its long. But mainly AC, flyes and breakfastFirst of all it was the AC. The ad said that the room had AC but it was not working. We stayed there for two nights and after the first night it was 26,7°c even tho I had it set at 20°c. I complained to the staff during the breakfast and they daid they would check it out. When I came back at around 9:30 pm the AC still wasn’t working. I called the reception and they said they wpuld check it out. Keep in mind that the room was 25°c then and rising. At 11:30 pm I still hadn’t heard from them so I called again and then they semed irretated but offered to come to my room. He came with a ladder and lied to me that the filter was the problem and he had taken it out so the room wpuld get colder. He also said I should open the window to let fresh air in. I told him that I was from iceland and 26-27°c was hot for me (the temp outsite). He told me to stop complaining and said nothing was worng. Then I asked him what the point was to advertice that he had AC when it wasn’t clearly there. Then he just said good night and left. I never saw him again. The temp reach over 27°c at this pointRegarding the flyes I have never seen so many flyes at one place and for example when he opened the door to come and check out the AC there was thousands of flyes coming kn the room. I spent the next half and hour to remove them. The breafast said “Excilent” in the ad how ever it was pretty poor. Only had thre kinds of yougurt, one type of bred, scrambled eg aand some jam. If that is excelent I don’t whant to see what bad is. For all of that experience I got 5 euros off the total price. Keep in mind it was two rooms for two night with breakfast included and one meal at the resturant wich had no englis menue

Heating in the room didn’t work properly, it was November and it was pretty cold. We let them know and they told us that they would fix it, I said it to them 2 more times with no results, they didn’t even try to provide a solution. They are the ones that regulate the temperature of the rooms and not the guests. There was no hand soup in the room, which is something basic. We hired a junior suite and expected something different, the room isn’t like the junior suites pictures in booking, but it’s expensive. We hired a room with a private balcony, but ours wasn’t private at all, everyone could see us and get into our terrace as it was just one door in the room with access to the common areas with a chair at one side. We felt pretty unconfortable as it’s hard for us to sleep with such a cold temperature in the room, the room was supposed to be insororized but we could hear other guests coughing in their rooms. It has been the most disgusting hotel experience I have had, as we couldn’t rest and we have had a poor quality at a expensive price.

Location and setting of the place very lovely. Room is a good size with great shower. Staff very friendly and helpful. Restaurant serves very good food.

Spacious and clean rooms. Nice environment. 12-15 minutes drive to Levanto was ok. Parking.

At least in our last couple of nights the AC didn't work in either of our two rooms. We had 26.8C when we woke up. Even if it works, it was noisy.

Lovely calm and extremely beautiful peaceful and quiet hotel in the forest and only 15 minute drive to Levanto. The breakfast was really good ,warm helpful and kind staff. Furthermore you can get from the hotel a local parking card for 2 euros per day which really helps with parking in Levanto. (Gets you free parking at the train station and reduced in the city).

One of our rooms had a smell of mold and the Wi-Fi was so weak all the time disconnecting.

I can't praise Hotel Abetaia enough, truly.The hotel itself is extremely clean and well taken care of. Our room and bathroom were quite spacious with plenty of ambient lighting.There was a bountiful breakfast buffet which was delicious.The hotel staff and management were always helpful no matter what was asked of them, and the owner is delightful.If you are coming to the Cinque Terre area the Hotel Abetaia is a most excellent choice.

Perfect location for our road trip to Southern Italy and a five minute drive down to Levanto for an evening meal

A modern well appointed room in a countryside/forest location. Somewhere safe to leave the car which had expensive e-bikes onboard.

We had wonderful stay. we came for one night and stayed for three. Sonia, the owner was charming and happy to help in whatever we asked. the room is big and very well designed. the surrounding is a forest, calm and a small stream flows by. it is very convenient to get to cinque terra by getting to levanto train station.

Nice location, The restaurant was really good (I recommend it ), the breakfast was really good and the staff was super available and professional.

The fact the light outside the room wasn't possible to turn it off, every night we had an army of insects on the door and I had to be careful to not let them in the room.

The host is great, property is in the middle of a jungle and they have a great restaurant, typical Italian hospitality.

Property is in the middle of a jungle, which means it’s far from Cinque Terre, at least 30 mins drive to Levanto. The AC stays at 27 degs, although if you arrive in any season but the top of summer, the weather in mornings and nights is super nice.

This hotel is very nice. It’s a bit outside Levanto (10min by car) but actually that is the nice thing about it. It’s situated in a cool area so we never turned on our air conditioner (they have one thought). We really loved to use this place as a base after our hikes in 5 terrre. It’s a nice place to relax after long hikes under the sun and visits to very busy villages. The staff is really nice and friendly, it’s a family owned place and is kept very clean and with taste. The restaurent is very good also, they have nice wine and a very tasty menu. Room is nice and renovated, well decorated and the bathroom is all new, bed was confortable. All in all I would go back to this place without hesitation.

Greenery around house is excellent, it's quite clean. Very peacefull place in the evening. Breakfast was ok.

No mosquito nets on the doors and windows. AC is automatically switched off at night which doesn't make sense. We got very hot in the room and we couldn't leave the window open cause there is no mosquito nets and you are in a forest, near a small river, with hundreds of vasps, mosquitos and many other insects.
