Gatell Hotel

Good hotel in a quiet Spanish town which was surprisingly a retreat from crowded Sitges.

It was advertised on Booking.com as Sitges and also displayed on Booking.com map as part of Sitges, but clearly was a different town on arrival.

Very dependable property. Have stayed there many times. Very close (5 min walk) to train station.I often use this hotel when connecting through the BCN airport. Restaurants a short walk away.Always lots of hot water for shower too. It is not fancy, but it is clean.

The front desk does not open at 7:00am when I usually leave this hotel. Also, the front door is locked before midnight.

No heat, No hot water, No electricity.Someone brakes in my room and try to open the bathroom while i'm washing myself WTF !

1. Breakfast, in the adjacent cafe, was included in the price and was supposed to start at 0800. At 0800 the adjacent cafe still had a chainn and padlock on the door. I had to go and buy breakfast somewhere else. Not good enough.2. Switches for some of the lights were in the bedhead. Turn over the wrong way during the night and the liights get switched on.3. Bedside lights were also on the bedhead. Kept bumping in to them when sitting up watching TV.

Good location. Very handy. Nice town.

Nice staff, clean rooms. Walls between rooms very thin, much noise from the neighbouring room can be heard.

Terrible isolation, one could hear every noise from the street during the night, even with the windows closed. We slept incredibly bad.Terribly expensive for what it offers. Even if it's "high season", 160 euro per night is too much for what the hotel offers. Also, incredibly sketchy payment scheme: they sent 2 days before check in an outside link for payment, outside of booking.com and after the free cancellation period, saying that they will cancel the reservation in case we do not pay in advance through that link. No room cleaning in 2 days, and not that clean on arrival. The floor felt sticky and sandy upon arrival, and smelt strongly of insect repellent spray.

Breakfast was nice at the cafe at the corner at the bottom of the street. Staff were nice as always.My rating of 8 is for both rooms. Room 403 = 5Room 407 = 10

Room 403 - A/C remote controller does not work with the Samsung unit. I could turn the A/C on from a button at the bottom of the unit, and it was putting out cold air. However, when we returned to the room after midnight, the room was warm, and no one in reception for me to talk to, and I doubt they could help unless they gave me the correct controller or had moved us to another room. I had to sleep on the hard floor to keep cool. I hardly slept all night. Room 407 was good for my 2 children.

The room rate was expensive. There was no minifridge or tea / coffee kettle

The Location was perfect, literally a few minutes from the train station, making arrival easier. Situated next to museums, within 10-15 minutes of the main restaurants, supermarkets, local shops and beach. The room was spacious, with desk for work. Clean, comfortable bed. Decoration modern, also with lift, which is important when on the higher levels. Reception space very contemporary and able to wait, relax there pending room availability and after checking out. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming and answered any questions I had, specifically helping with local taxi company for later onward journey to the airport.

Nothing that I didn´t like, the hotel exceeded my expectations and met my needs for a working stay.

The send you payment link to pay outside of booking - unacceptable. They threaten you they cancel your reservation if you don’t pay online via this fishy link where you pay to some weird entity

Good location, close to train station and a lovely cafe nearby. In terms of the room, we paid £70 per night (twin room). Comfy and clean bedsCurtain had cigarette burns on them. Thin walls - people were having loud sex for hours. One of the nights the fire alarm went off with no explanation or warning/apology note. No hairdryer or kettle in the room but as you would probably expect given the price. Hairs left in the bathroom and shower, not fully cleaned. We would have liked to see a mirror on the wall and more amenity kits in terms of shampoo etc and fridge for the room. An ok place to stay for a short trip if you are on a budget. 40 mins away from Barcelona Sants.

Location, beds, staff at reception

- The common passages, rooms, shower rooms, ceiling, furniture are totally outdated and broken. - I found plastic bags in the wardrobe, after previous guests I guess. - Couple days before check-in I got the message from property to pay in advance by external link, otherwise they planned to cancel the reservation, but finally they didn't. - I think there is night dance club close to, not very loud, but at 1 am you can hear it.

Further from the beach than I thought. Late start of breakfast. Would have liked it to start at least at 07.30, not 08.30.

The location was very good for the station and railway museum. It was a quiet area too and easy to walk to the old town. Breakfast was adequate.

A safe in the room.

The location is near the beach and almost 100m from the train station. Also close to the Rambla and the city center.Beds are confortable but i miss a little frigde, a cabinet to put cloths on and a shelf in the shower to put your own soap.

Apart from the reception, the rooms are very simple and the furniture is old. Nevertheless the beds are confortable and the facilities are clean.
