The staff was excellent! They helped us with everything we needed and did their best to assist us when the room didn’t have AC. They even helped us with another issue we had and kindly let us borrow their phone to make calls. The view, location, and pool area were great — we really liked it!
The problem with the room was that it didn’t have air conditioning, which was a major issue for us and made it very difficult to stay in the room, especially given how hot it is in Italy during the summer. To their credit, the staff did offer us alternative rooms (which, unfortunately, didn’t suit our needs), and eventually provided us with two fans. There was also an issue in the bathroom — dirt was falling from the wooden ceiling into the sink, and there was no light in the shower.
we stayed 9 nights in the cottages of relais ciavatta with 2 kids. it was a truly pleasant and relaxing experience. cottages are comfy and the area is nice and quiet. the swiming pool is a real charm, with space to relax, play, etc. the restaurant La Frasca is serving simple, yet very genuine local cuisine.Despite the warmth of the season, the place is fresh and pleasant. discovering the surraoundings: Scansano, Manciano, Pitigliano and all the historical and culinary treasures was an enchantment.
Excellent location and the most charming grounds with a breathtaking backdrop. Rooms were spacious and bathrooms very clean. The incredible views, strong scent of flowers, and the singing sounds of birds made this place extra dreamy. The two pools were lovely, both offering a unique setting and experience . The staff was very welcoming and the breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful stay in a fairytale setting.
Nothing it was great
The apartments were very close to the Staurnia hot springs. The parking was spacious and the kids had a lot of space to play outside. The facilities in the house were okay, but the devices in the kitchen a bit limited.
The cottage was in a beautiful location with horses behind the cottage. The thermal baths were a short drive away, and the restaurant was right there on the top of the hill, which made dinner especially convenient.I think that in summertime this place is like farytale :)
Since it was humid outside, the house was also humid, the clothes were damp in the morning and the wet clothes did not dry out by morning either. The radiators were only hot for a short time in the evening and that was not enough.
This was our favorite place that we stayed at during our travels around Italy! My wife and I were looking for a peaceful refuge in between our crowded stays in Rome and Florence, and we were so happy that we booked two nights here at Relais Ciavatta. A friend of ours stayed there a few years ago and she highly recommended it to us, and we were not disappointed. We rented a car and made little trips to some amazing, beautiful nearby towns as well, such as Pitigliano, Bolsena Lake, and Civita di Bagnoregio - upon the recommendation of our lovely hosts. These were all breathtaking places to visit, and the serene, natural beauty of Relais Ciavatta was an ideal place to call "home" in between those excursions.
Nothing. This place was perfect!
An absolute gem in Tuscany. Beautiful property which is what we enjoyed the most. Quiet and tranquil. We sat outside looking at the stars and it was amazing. Very friendly interactions with staff. Close to the hot springs and nearby towns. Loved this stay so much. Would come back again.
The shower only had warm water but I’m not deducting anything from my review. I just enjoy hot showers.
Perfect location, beautiful part of Tuscany.Very friendly owners ready to help with everything you need.Great swimming pools with beautiful surrounding.Actually everything is much much nicer then on Booking pictures :)
Everything was perfect.
We had a very good experience staying in this charming, well-located old Tuscan house. The staff was incredibly friendly (contrary to previous reviews we had seen), even preparing a light breakfast for us to take away on our early departure. The breakfast itself was incredible, and the swimming pool was a great bonus.
It felt a bit pricey compared to other places we stayed during our trip.
Beautiful location, quiet and idyllic, lovely pool, great breakfast and very friendly and professional staff, good WiFi. Fantastic experience, we would happily return!
When we booked, we didn’t realise there was no a/c in the two-bed apartments. It got very hot inside by mid afternoon but the staff quickly brought us a second fan, which helped. Luckily it cooled down at night (we were there in late July) and we could sleep with the windows open.
Quiet stand alone apartment in a rural setting We were able to make our own meals Wonderful swimming pool Our hostess was accommodating Parking outside the door Relaxing time & only a few other guests during our stay
Few extra amenities in the kitchenette but we managed and the staff obliged when we asked .
Nice location, cottage, pool area.
To bad the restaurant was closed. The cottages was located just behind the horses paddock. Unfortunantly that contributed to lots of flies. We could hardly sit outside to eat.
We absolutely loved our stay at the Relais! Marco and his family were the friendliest hosts, the room was comfortable and spacious, and the pool was pure magic! We enjoyed our daily breakfast (eggs, pastries, fresh fruit and meat selection) and went on daily trips around the area (beaches 1 hr away, medieval towns 3-30mins away and thermal springs only 7 mins away). Make sure to book a reservation at their restaurant on site. It was so good we went twice! The Relais Ciavatta Country Hotel was romantic, peaceful and captured the beauty of Tuscany perfectly. We can’t wait to be back!
Comfy beds. Strong shower. Good WiFi. The pool!!Perfect for small children as has a very shallow section so we were able to sit from the side to watch them splash about. It’s beautiful! Although careful of the sides which are a little sharp, we burst 3 pool floats. Wonderful owners, Marco and family, who went out of their way to make us comfortable.
The cottage could do with a little love, don’t expect luxury, but considering the price we were happy.
The place is incredible. Surrounded by nature, the facilities are very well-maintained, and the room was excellent. Good breakfast and attentive staff. Very close to the thermal baths and top wine producers. Will return and recommend!
The garden is beautiful
Wifi is horrible. Negligence and disrespect towards the customer, no information was provided at check in, verbally or in writing, about the rules of the stay. In check out a charge was made without prior notice, this is unacceptable. The chalet´s environment was dirty and seemed abandoned, we detected some small and big centipedes in the rooms. There wasn´t really comfortable chairs and my mother´s bed frame was broken. Totally disappointed, I wouldn´t recommend this place and I don´t know how they manage to receive such good grades.
Super location, close to Hot Springs!Very beautiful place , green , calm , perfect for escape from the city chaos !Definitely recommended!
