What Guests Say

  • “Terrific location within the walled city. Close to everything. Very helpful staff. If you want to fully experience the atmosphere of the walled city you won't get anything better than this hotel. Plus, the restaurant across the street (alley) serves excellent cassoulet.”

    Pros +

    • great location , great staffs, quiet, breakfast quite substantial and delicious.
    • The location is great--right in the middle of the old city. Excellent job getting our suitcases to our room in a timely way and helping us get back to our car in the morning.
    • Lovely place, inside the walls. Very good access to day and night sightseeing of the old city. Staff friendly and helpful. Wonderful breakfast.

    Cons -

    • no car access, so difficult to drag luggage on stone paved city.
    • It was very difficult to navigate to the parking area. This should be made a lot clearer to anyone going to the city for the first time. Our room smelled bad when we arrived--this is something the cleaning crew should have addressed before we arrived.
    • We drove to the old city and finding parking was maddening. When you arrive, you must go past the paid public lot, then drive a few hundred yards up a narrow road, then take a right and find an attended cite hotels lot. Frustrating!

It was conveniently located to everything we wanted to see in Carcassonne. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant, especially in helping us connect to the wi-fi. The hotel cat was a bonus!

The front desk staff always called me be my name.

They need to do a better job of telling guests how to get to the private parking.

The hotel is located in the center of the walled city and close to everything. The room we had was spacious and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. They had parking spaces right outside the city wall and delivered the luggage to the hotel. I rode with the young man who delivered our luggage and the ride was exciting, passing through city gates and narrow street.

Our room was in a building behind the main building. Sometimes the lights would not turn on automatically when we walked between the two buildings at night.

Room was nice! Loved the location

Wish little bar was open at times so we could sit & have a drink.

The hotel was right inside the bastille which made for e very unique setting. Staff was extremely helpful and pleasant,

Accessing the hotel was difficult. GPS could not get us to the hotel parking!. We had to call concierge to come and get us.

Location, location, location! Also, terrace for the room, and garden courtyard.

Bed could have been more comfortable--it was 2 beds pushed together, and not held together very well.

To be able to stay inside the magical Cite was unbelievable. A beautiful hotel that retains its ancient charm while offering everything you need ~ cozy beds, daily room service, delicious breakfast, ample hot water, extremely helpful staff, amazing views. We were steps away from the Chateau and the church and could walk the empty streets in the morning and bustling streets all day/night long. Grateful to be In the Magic?✨️

    It was perfect.

Was great to be in the heart of the city to enjoy the peace once the crowds left for the day. Loved being steps away from everything. Being picked up at the parking lot and driven to the hotel with our baggage was a huge plus. Thanks to the staff for a wonderful stay

Staff was nice and polite. Location was excellent. Parking in proximity.

Price is not up to value despite location inside old town. Room was very small for two people.

Having the hotel within the city walls was a timesaver. Receiving help with the transfer from outside the walls to the room was a pleasant surprise. Reception was very helpful and the room was large and the bed was comfy.

Brighter reading light would be helpful but the room was furnished very nice

    Location. Staff was pleasant.

Our room smelled like smoke. The directions for parking were incorrect sending us the wrong way down a one way street and, of course, I met a car. Frightening!

Beautiful facility in the heart of the walled city. Comfortable room and helpful staff.

Check in time at 4:00 was a bit late

    6PaulPosted on: 10-12-2025

    Location

The all night partying which kept us up much of the night. The breakfast was sub-par. No coffee maker in the room and the room was badly in need of updating

Staying overnight in the medieval city is not to be missed. Everything is in walking distance. So cool to be within the walls when things quiet down.

It was a lot of money and the room could use a little bit of a refresh, but overall it was a fabulous stay. One part of the stay that is a 10 out of 10 are the wonderful staff who helped run the parking lot and deliver the luggage to the room rooms. These guys worked their hearts out and could not have done a better job.
