Hotel du Pont Vieux, au pied de la Cité Médiévale

Newly renovated clean comfortable room with a view. Non smoking. Lovely staff and breakfast. Garden out back. Great location.

Narrow stairs, not sure if there was an elevator.

The rooms were very comfortable. The bathrooms were spacious and modern. The staff was very helpful and attentive. The hotel is located only a few minutes from the Old Cite and is on a street with a lot of great restaurants and shops. One of my favorite things about this hotel was the rooftop deck, which gives unparalleled views of the Cite.

The location was excellent just less than a 10 minute walk to the old city gates. The room was comfortable with a good coffee maker, bottled water and the bathroom was modern, spacious and well appointed. The owners of the hotel were very nice and incredibly helpful in solving an issue with booking a train reservation to Barcelona. They were able to sell us tickets to the castle so we didn't have to stand in line at the site to purchase them. They recommended excellent restaurants as well. Parking was free and 20 meters from the hotel.

Everything was good. The room was a little small but that is to be expected in such a historic building.

The hotel was charming and well located. We enjoyed the beautiful terrace. And breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The host s were very welcoming.

Very kind hosts, we were able to park our rental car in their secure garage with no issues. Breakfast was lovely, and our room had a view of the castle. The room was sizeably large, and although it was not brand new, the bedroom and bathroom were so impeccably clean that we were really happy and comfortable in the room. We enjoyed purchasing some lovely French treats from the little shop adjoining the lobby.

We were only spending one night in Carcassonne and so picked this hotel for its location and price point. We lucked out with the room because we got one on the top floor and overlooking the city ramparts. It is a good location for not being within the medieval city itself - though be warned - it is a 10-minute uphill walk. The room was modern and well maintained, and the bathroom was excellent. The owners are really lovely and were extremely helpful in accommodating our car and pointing out where to go!

If I had to pick, it would be the lack of elevator - we were in a room on the top floor (amazing views) but had to drag 2 heavy suitcases up 5 flights!

The location was perfect, easy walking distance to all the attractions

The location was great, very close to the old city and an easy walk from the train station. The proprietor gave us excellent food recommendations and their buffet breakfast was the best we've had in Europe. The beds were comfortable and it had great atmosphere They had a terrace on the 3rd floor with an incredible view of the walled city.

Location is perfect, at the foot of the Cité wall, and the breakfasts offer a wide variety of choices. The owners are pleasant and engaged. Good dinner recommendations, as well.

Great location at the base of the castle in Carcassonne just across the old bridge. Great location for exploring the castle and older town or the other half of town not in the castley. Owners were very nice, helpful with recommendations for restaurants. Breakfast was excellent. The hotel has an upper deck with a tremendous view of the castle.

Nothing, though there is no lift so if you are on the 3rd level, be prepared to carry your bag.

We had a wonderful welcome and shown a comfortable room with an incredible view of the castle at night. We enjoyed the central location close to great restaurants.

It was very close to the medieval part of Carcassonne, the Cité, which I walked to and from. My room had a good view of the medieval walls and towers.

The room was not spacious, but it is an old building, and I got along fine.

Great location, lovely street by the old bridge leading up to the castle. Friendly, welcoming staff. We were on the top floor so had to climb a lot of stairs, but the spiral staircase was beautiful (and fun), and the terrace had a great view. Very comfortable beds.

Breakfast was a bit messy for me. My toast caught on fire in the conveyor belt toaster (charred to pieces) and neither of my soft boiled eggs (done myself with two different timers in the hot water pan) were cooked enough to eat. Lots of great cafes and restaurants nearby though.
