About

Tenuta Il Burchio is a 16th-century Tuscan hamlet set a short drive from Florence. You will find an outdoor pool and beautiful 3-hectare grounds. Surrounded by stunning Val d'Arno olive groves and vineyards, Il Burchio offers the perfect setting for a relaxing Tuscan holiday. Sit back in the hydromassage area of the pool while you take in the scenery. Enjoy Tenuta Il Burchio's traditional décor and wrought-iron furniture. You can still see lovely old fireplaces inside and many of the spacious rooms come with wooden-beam ceilings. All have charming country views and come with satellite television. Tenuta Il Burchio has a reception, a TV room, a bar and a restaurant which serves the finest Chianti wines and classic Tuscan dishes. Enjoy a buffet breakfast served from 08:00 to 10:00 on the outdoor terrace in summer. Trips and tours can be booked at Il Burchio's reception and the hotel is well-placed for visiting the area's most famous sites, with Florence just 30 minutes' drive away. Large fashion outlets are just 1.2 mi from here.

    Pros +

    • Location was beautiful, windows overlooking the hills of Tuscany staff very friendly and helpful, great breakfast , nice pool. the restaurant on location was very nice and very nice service
    • Prelep hotelcic, u predivnom ambijentu, puno zelenila, pravi raj, sobe su rusticne, dorucak odlican, brzo se stize do Firence.
    • The country views were lovely and the room was classic Italian style. The breakfast was amazing with choices to cover all different preferences

    Cons -

    • Remember if you have heavy suitcases getting the view from top floors means going upstairs with suitcases
    • Very little sound proofing between rooms and we could hear all the toilet activities of our neighbours. The bed was a bit too hard for our liking however the linen was very crisp and clean which was made it feel a bit more luxurious. We also stayed on Easter Sunday and there was very little options open for food in the surrounding towns
    • The bathroom had a door problem that was solved by a key that the stuff brought to close it.

They have a very good restaurant, it's the third time that we book in this hotel and every time we dine in the restaurant.

The bathroom had a door problem that was solved by a key that the stuff brought to close it.

It was a nice facility overall, in an old Tuscan style building. The lady at the reception was very kind and responsive, I think she gave us an upgrade. The location was convenient not far from the highway exit. Good amenities for a 3*, I would have appreciated a pair of slippers in the room. Breakfast was good.

It was a bit cold everywhere, in the room, the restaurant. The room warmed up after turning the A/c on, but not the restaurant. The Bugia restaurant is in the same building as the hotel, not sure if it is the same management (likely not), it is convenient if you don't want to go out, but unless you're really really tired, there are several other better places very close in the area.

A unique location, good for one night stop.

There was mold in the shower.

The area and scenery were absolutely beautiful, the area was quiet and there were easy access to many amenities close by within walking distance or a very short driving distance.

The rooms had an unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom. The bathroom appeared clean, but the unpleasant smell was strong and lingered for our entire stay.

    Quiet area

Generally all furniture, wardrobe, toilet, lighting are antique situation. The bed very hard, and the smell inside the building feels a lot of humidity and old...

Beautiful building, excellent welcoming staff. It has a lovely pool that our children thoroughly enjoyed using in the hot and sunny weather. Our rooms were rearranged to accommodate an extra bed with no fuss. The staff are so helpful and kind. Breakfast was fantastic with such a choice of items to choose from with fresh coffee. Seating on a terrace with beautiful views. We didn’t have a car, but there was a lovely taxi driver initially organised by the hotel, and we then used for the remainder of our stay. So kind and reasonably priced, he took us back to Florence and took us to the the hill top view point and helped us find our accommodation. His name was Mario.

We enjoyed everything. The restaurant is lovely, food fantastic, but the menu is probably not child friendly if you have small children. The adults in our group thoroughly enjoyed it though!

It’s a beautiful 250 year old house lovingly restored and run by family. I loved the old construction and the views from it. Even my bathroom had a stunning view of the courtyard. It was a small property that packed everything into it. A pool, the best breakfast we had through our roadtrip, the friendly management and car parking.

Nothing at all. Everything was great.

    July weather very hot.

Good sized room and nicely appointed. Clean. Staff were helpful. Nice quite location. Breakfast was great and a lovely setting.

Whilst we asked for, and were allocated a ground floor room, it was right next to the restaurant. There was some noise up till 11pm. But it was 'happy noise'.

It was exeptional staying. Staff were wellcome and nice. Rooms were neat and comfortable, despite of the moderate size. Good restaurant. Quite and peaceful atmospheere, birds singing, marvelouse vies all around. The best way to have a rest, enjoy the nature and at the same time discover Toscana.

Very nice location, close to main roads but in the countryside. Very good price and very good restaurant (not included)

The mattress was truly awful. Though for one night it is okay, but I am pregnant at the 9th month and sleeping has been an issue. I would suggest the owners to replace all mattress and cushions.

    Suck

Have to wait for the staff more than 1 hour to check in. She went to somewhere else during the check in time. Found 3 bugs on the bed as shown in the picture.

Excelent building, well furbished and clean rooms. Lovely place to stay in Tuscany, 30 minutes away from Florence and quick access to A1 highway. Great breakfast too.

The hotel has a restaurant and the parking lot used to be full at lunch or supper's time.

Good breakfast on a pleasant balcony. Good selection. Pleasant service

The mattresses in the bed are very uncomfortable.

It's a beautiful quaint Hotel. It is not luxury but it is very nice. The staff was wonderful. The restaurants on site amazing.

    8MalcolmPosted on: 11-2-2023

Excellent location and well presented room.

Restaurant was fully booked and no suitable alternatives in the local town. Ended up buying food in the supermarket!

    8PaulPosted on: 10-28-2023

A nice small hotel located a 5 minute drive from the Outlet Shopping Mall and close to the motorway. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and very clean .Bathroom is small but adequate . The restaurant at the hotel is super and we had a fabulous dinner there ...really very good. Breakfast was ok , it is not in the same restaurant, with a buffet style with an acceptable choice and quality if you do not want hot food.

Our sleep was disturbed by mosquitos in the room ,even in late October , and this was not helpful. They need to put something in the room to fix this.
