Pros +
- The fact that there is a restaurant at the ground floor is probably a plus. However, the staff were so unfriendly that we decided not to eat there.
- The location was fine, the problem was there was a festival going on and we could not drive our car close to the hotel.
- The location was great, gave easy access to the old town. It was quiet at night even though there is a parking lot in front.
Cons -
- This is more of a restaurant with a few rooms on top! The staff were very unfriendly from the time we arrived at the hotel until we checked out. They did not even tell us about the large free parking area nearby. We had to search for it ourselves.
- Booking.com could have warned us about the festival. Also the hotel staff could not give us advice on parking in town and I got a ticket.
- Room safe was broken.

Nice family Hotel Great location , clean.Enjoyed
Great location, staff were friendly. We didn’t try the restaurant, but the food looked good. We had a room with a balcony. The balconies are small, but good enough for two people to sit outside and have a drink. The bathroom was fairly recently renovated so it was nice.
We were only given one towel to shower with. By the time we got around to showering, there was nobody at reception to ask for an extra one.
It was a nice location at the end of the beach. It had an attached restaurant that was very good. The paella was amazing. The wine was also good.
Nothing, everything was good. Maybe they could have breakfast for their guests in the morning. It was difficult to find coffee in this sleepy beach town in the morning.
Location right outside the wall was very convenient. The rooms are clean and area seemed very safe
The reception area is in the back of a cafe. Very odd. As such, there is no place to have your luggage held. We ended paying 35€ for a late checkout. Luggage storage was assumed at a hotel. The safes in the rooms were not working functioning either.
We were so pleased with our stay. The location was perfect, with public pay parking nearby. The room was very comfortable with a King Sized bed and a wonderful shower.
It was fine. A little surprised that such a nice room would have paper cups instead of water glasses.
The location is perfect in the middle of old town, center of town and the beach. The terrace is also really nice to have, although it does look over the parking, still it’s cool to have large terrace.
2 things: The sound proofing is almost nonexistent. We could hear almost every word spoken from our neighbors, although the man had very loud voice, but still. Also, the glass door to bathroom in bad solution. Nobody needs to see and hear me on toilet, not even my wife.
Among the best travel experiences I had. And there’s a lot of them… Excellent! A 5* experience at a 2* accommodation is absolutely exceptional! Paco and his son are wonderful people, who could easily become my friends. Thanks so much for the short but great time at Barra Alta guys! I’ll be back soon!
I couldn’t think of something, really…
Super clean hotel in the perfect location next to everything. Staff was helpful and let us check in early.
The room was huge and had a fridge as well. I like the location close to the city center.
We had a lovely stay at the Hotel Boutique Barra Alta. The location was amazing right in the old town. Our room was very comfortable and we would happily stay again in the future.
Nothing, it was a great stay!
So close to the city center. The owner is also really friendly and the rooms were huge. Thank you for the pleasant stay !!
Nothing to mention
LocationThe ONLY good aspect of this hotel was its location, literally steps from the castle which was perfect for us as the point of our trip was just to see the Castle & the surrounding area of the old town
Pretty much everything else! The hotel is above & surrounded by restaurants. The room smelt constantly of fried fish!Parking is a pain (not the hotel’s fault!) You need to down load an app (Telpark) Parking is 10.00 am to 10.00 pm for 6.50 euros in designated areas. We found this out for ourselves, no help from the hotelIt’s a 2 star hotel. It’s not a 3 or 4 star masquerading as a 2 star hotel! It’s noisy at night because if it’s location. The noise does die down eventually. It’s overpriced for what it provides.
Very clean property throughout. Everything worked fine. Every day you’d get two new bottles of water.
A bit noisy at night, but it’s in the middle of everything.
The location was amazing. The staff was friendly. The room was clean and the balcony made the location even better.
Absolutely brilliant location, close to shops, restaurants, old town, and beaches. Lovely restaurant downstairs with great food. Friendly staff, who let us check in early. Would definitely stay there again.
Difficult to find parking, but that’s not the hotels problem. If you have a car, you can actually drive right up to the hotel, and you may be lucky enough to find a park there. A little noisy from the street, but it didn’t last too long.
It is very close to the old quarter.
I didn't like: to1. The elevator restricts going down to level O where the reception, restaurant, and the main entrance at certain times so one has to use the side entrance and go around the bldg to go to the reception. 2. The a/c in my unit took a long time to start for me to think that it was not working.3. Supposedly, there's parking but with no entry signs on the roads going to the hotel, it was complicated and confusing to find it. We ended up in the public parking, walked a little bit more and paid extra money which was unnecessary.
The excellently located hotel was modern, spotlessly clean & well appointed. The large double bed & quiet location provided a good night's rest. The staff had an easy manner & were very friendly & the hotel restaurant was well worth the visit.
