Hotel Roca Plana

Good location in the centre of town. They kindly included breakfast in the price.

The bed is a bit short. There are maintenance issues - the blind, the shower doors. Walls are very thin. Needs some TLC

Room was not very nice. Very small and smelled bad. Bed was not terribly comfortable. Not a good value for the money paid. We’ve been on the road for five months now and have rented in many places and found this to be one of the least Bang for your buck places we have stayed. Staff was very nice.

Hotel is in an excellent location. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable and we had a good view. Breakfast was a small buffet, fresh and adequate.

Lack of storage space. Just a small wardrobe with a few hangers but no drawers so cannot unpack.

The Roca Plana is situated in the pretty seaside town of L'Ampolla, overlooking the marina. There are plenty of excellent restaurants, cafes and independent shops along the promenade, which has a cycling lane as well as a walking area, and a variety of beaches within easy walking distance. The restaurant within the hotel is excellent in itself, serving local Catalan cuisine and a variety of other dishes. (Multi-lingual menu if you don't speak Catalan or Spanish). Continental breakfast was good, and was included in the price of the stay (which came as a nice surprise). The room was spacious, well equipped and very clean. There is air-conditioning in the room should it be needed. The ensuite bathroom was a good size, with a shower above the bath. Both the hotel staff and the restaurant staff were pleasant and welcoming. Would definitely stay there again.

The harbour view from our balcony was enjoyable and 2 beaches are located nearby. Restaurants and cafes line the seafront and all you need is within an easy walking distance.

The street noise, continuing until late in the night was obtrusive. The room and bathroom are quite small.In fact the hotel itself is small.We were offered a free breakfast and told it was available at 8am. We wanted to leave by 8.30am but at 8am both the staff and breakfast were missing. The buffet was set up while we drank a coffee and we searched for cutlery, a plate etc. It seemed very disorganised! When we left it still wasn’t really ready.

Access to beaches ..harbour...restaurants and train

The hotel has a fantastic view over the Harbour and is very central. The rooms are spotless & the staff really friendly. We hope to come back.
