Pros +
- A large property with free parking and only a 3-minute walk to the center of town. The room was very nice and spacious with plenty of windows, 2 French balconies, and a view of the pool. Lots of old-world charm. The staff was great too. I will be back.
- Spacious rooms, good breakfast spread (for a fee), pool, great staff, free parking and Wi-Fi
- Very friendly staff in a convenient location to the old medieval village.
Cons -
- Furniture a bit outdated but that's a part of the charm
- Kitchenette was not stocked with some basic items. EG, a coffee pot provided, but no filters or coffee to at least make the first pot. The shower leaked water ALL OVER the bathroom floor. When mentioned to the front desk (had to go get extra towels to mop it up), her response was that it had always been that way. (Then why not fix it?)
- Room was not as advertised. Room was dirty and the building smelled like sewage. Breakfast was not great.

Location of a good.
Room was not as advertised. Room was dirty and the building smelled like sewage. Breakfast was not great.
Its location, a short walk from the center one of France’s many lovely small towns. Free sterilized cold still or sparkling water machine was a welcomed detail on our hot summer visit. Lucy, the Spa’s masseuse was both pleasant and professional. A welcomed bit of healing after a two week motorcycle adventure in the French, Swiss and Italian Alps.
It is in desperate need of refurbishing: updating facilities and replacing furniture are both way past due. Sit in any seat in their lobby and there’s little left to support the weight of any guest. Room design placed both the toilet and shower in the same constricted space, so excess water would have to be mopped up with a towel. Mold around the bottom was evidence water damage has been consistent for years. Finally, even though parking spots were available the morning we left, we were required to repack our motorcycles in a small space in front of reception. This was AFTER we had unloaded our luggage, set our bike alarms and put bike covers on for the evening. I would note that this hotel review was the 15th in a 16 day trip, of which many other stays were excellent.
Location and staff are really nice
The bathroom is covered in black mold
I know Pezenas well as my home is nearby. I live overseas currently so was back to see friends. The Distillerie has a good location with parking
My room was very tired and needs an overhaul. Lumpy duvet and pillows, not very clean overall with someone else’s hairs stuck all over the bathroom door! Cigarette ends floating in an ashtray on the balcony. The carpet in the hallway is covered in stains - that sort of standard.
Very convenient for town centre. Parking is on site and free
There was a strange smell in the lobby which I have noticed last time we stayed. The rooms although big are totally misconfigured - there was an empty room within our room! The shower and toilet are in the same space and thus meant a wet toilet
The perfect location to visit the pretty town. Literally a 3 minute walk across the private bridge to start of historic centre. We were able to park for free and leave the car securely until we could check in.The staff were very friendly and professional to welcome us and provide milk on request for a morning cup of tea! The rooms were very spacious, clean and well equipped. Great storage and bathroom size. Beds were comfortable enough for a night, but not sure for longer as quite soft, which is more of a personal opinion. We used the spa and enjoyed a lovely evening meal in the bistrot restaurant on site. We checked out early to enjoy the fabulous Saturday market and were able to leave the car parked until we departed later in the day.
Although clean, some of the communal areas and things like bathroom doors and furniture in our room looked a little tired and shabby, in need of repair and replacement for a 4 star hotel. The basic spa access when it is cold or raining outside is quite limited indoors for the price in terms of what is included and the water temperature in a smallish jacuzzi pool that only has bubbles (no spa type water jets for massage etc), needed to have been warmer. We were lucky to have the space for just our family of 4 as would have felt squashed if more were there (apparently a max. of 12). Official check in was from 5pm and we were able to check in early around 2:45pm, which was much appreciated, but that still felt quite late if you are staying and using the spa etc (we had booked for 3:30pm. The 5pm time seems excessively late and think 2/2:30pm would be a more normal time.
We didnt have breakfast as the selection was too limited.
We could only get a glass of wine in the bar, to have any other alcoholic drink you needed to be having dinner. Also we couldn't pay for the wine in the bar we had to pay for it at the reception later.
Large rooms, breakfast, dinner, parking, friendly staff
5pm check in
Large, well-equipped apartment with plenty of space and privacy. Quiet, comfortable and ideally located just on the edge of town (easy walking distance to everything).
Restaurant closed on Sunday and Monday evenings which meant a very wet walk to town after a long day’s drive.
Location
The Hotel looks tired and the carpet needs a good clean. Furniture tired
the location is excellent with easy parking
The property is becoming increasingly run down and tired. the design of the bathrooms is poor as everywhere gets soaked as soon as anyone uses the shower. kitchen facilities are minimal- very little cutlery for example
I've been staying here each year since it opened, and it is good to see that they have recently redecorated the rooms. The rooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable. It is very useful to have an area to make coffee and keep some food in the fridge provided. The pool is very welcome to cool down on hot days.Breakfast was good on the days that everything was available, but some mornings both the coffee machines malfunctioned and had to be reset, and the croissants ran out on a couple of mornings.
Sections of the carpets in the hall and landings are stained and starting to look a bit tired. The stuffing/springs of the armchair in the bedroom is in a poor state. The inside of the toilet in our room remain badly stained throughout our stay even though we asked if it could be cleaned.
The spa, the hotel, the staff, the room, the location
The bathroom drainage and smell of urine
Nothing at all from arriving to departing
First impressions on arrival were the stained carpets everywhere. Had we not have been so tired. We would have left immediately. The room was very dark with poor quality furniture which is all stained along with the seating. The Bathroom was dirty and the Combi shower/bathtub was very slippery and dangerous. The separate bedroom was dark and gloomy. The bed was so poor, you rolled into each other when turning. In the Bistro, we ordered a main course only and had to send both the monkfish and the duck back as they were both cold. They were returned microwaved. In addition to not being very nice, the portions were set menu size and far too small having paid €24 per dish.We passed on breakfast which was dark, carpet stained and unwelcoming. Overall a very unpleasant experience.
Close to the village
No basin in the toilet. You have to walk around to the bathroom. Is it a French thing as this is the 2nd time this has happened.
The location was fantastic and the room itself was great (and huge) apart from having a leak in the roof day 2… which has affected the rating based on the lack of customer service at the place. The water cooler with multiple options was useful. Pool was small but nice. Spacious room
Shower didn’t have a screen so water just spilt onto the bathroom floor which just isn’t ideal A lovely water leak in the kitchen area from the ceiling which was clear is a regular occurrence no care from management about moving us or compensation and really didn’t care at all. Mentioned it and came back after dinner to be told it was all good. Then went to the room to find nothing had been done… Bits of place look a bit tired and pool toilet was very average. Poor customer care
great value, comfortable, great location, ample parking, pet friendly, very helpful staff., tea & coffee in rooms,
