About

Surround yourself in the Medieval ambiance of this historic hotel, which forms part of the old city walls of this ancient town in the countryside of Aragon. The building of El Peirón dates from the 17th century, and many charming, original features remain to this day. Its sturdy, stone walls contain an enchanting venue, blending traditional Spanish elements with the facilities of a 21st-century hotel. Each of the hotel’s rooms has been carefully designed to preserve the historic feel while adding amenities such as hydromassage showers, Wi-Fi internet and state-of-the-art lighting. The Peirón’s setting on the main street of Sos del Rey Católico means you can easily explore the town’s ancient streets. Here you will find numerous characteristic Spanish tapas bars to try the local cuisine. There is covered parking for motorcycles, subject to availability.

    Pros +

    • Lovely building in the old town
    • We absolutely loved this charming hotel in the heart of the old town! It's full of history, the room was very spacious and comfortable, everything was impeccably well-maintained and clean and the staff couldn't have been more welcoming.
    • Very friendly and helpful. Excellent that they also spoke French and helped us arrange a taxi. We decided to spend a second night. Nice breakfast with a delicious egg/potato local dish.

    Cons -

    • Window only opened inside, not like in the photos with old world windows
    • The town was extremely quiet, not much to do and quite isolated. We decided not to stay.
    • Nothing, it was perfect.

Good selection for breakfast. Location of hotel perfect, right in the centre, easy to walk around the town. Plenty of historic things to see. Limited parking near the hotel, but not far to walk.

This was not our first visit but the hotel still sets the standard for clean and everything still feels brand new. Because it is in the centre of the village you are really immersed in Sos del Rey.

The hotel is very cozy, the room was spacious and well furnished. The staff extremely kind and ready to assist. We had also breakfast, which was very good. I strongly recommend this hotel. I hope to come back soon

Beautiful hotel in a stunning village. The room was spotless, big and comfortable. The staff were truly lovely, and the breakfast was amazing, with delicious homemade cake and beautiful meats and cheeses, and a heavenly potato omelette. Marvellous......

    good location and comfortable room.

there were ants in the bathroom. and at the very simple breakfast, the staff made it very clear that we should drink the filter coffee instead of espresso from Nespresso machine. (btw, the filter coffee was very strong and stood for a long time so they didn't really taste fresh.)

Typical spanish breakfast, nothing fancy unfortunately. But hotel and room was very nice. Historical buliding in old town. You can drive near bulding to unpack but you have to find a parking spot to leave the car.

Beautifully furnished and comfortable room in the centre of town.

The room seemed a bit smaller than expected. We were given a room on the first floor and it was a bit dark.

    interesting town

access with heavy bags is difficult - no close by drop off and uphill from parking no free coffee in am owner seemed put out to take American Express

    3SusanPosted on: 9-29-2023

The room was very large, nicely furnished, and had a lovely view from two windows. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean and large.

There was a very strong smell of insecticide in the room. Opening the windows and turning on fan did not help to dissipate the smell. We did not sleep well as a result.

Ambience and setting. Quality of building and decor. Bathroom was lovely. Breakfast buffet exceptional and very good value with lots of choice. Family run business. Owners very friendly.

Our room had no balcony as some did but only there 1 night so wasn’t important
