Hotel Arha Mar Comillas

Convenient stay on the Camino. Lovely town.

A bit distant from the beach and city center.

Location was perfect. Large room. Great air conditioning

There was no hot water in the shower

When arrived, the staff told me I could choose some plates of the menu. Had to wait 5 hours for the restaurant to open. After i arrived at the restaurant, i could only opt for the fixed menu, that I didn’t want. Had to find another place!! Absurd the miscommunication between the staff.

Establishment was grubby and threadbare throughout. Our bed,comfortable though it was had seen better days. The bas3 lining was showing the length of the base. Main mirror had very obvious streaks and stains. Hallway furniture and decor was in very poor condition. My wife's chair at breakfast was broken and dangerous. Breakfast was not g4eat. While walking into town for lunch we happened to look back at the hotel. The fire escape was at this end and we couldn't fail to notice that the 1st floor stairs appeared to be used for linnen storage, it was completely blocked and an obvious fire hazard.

Breakfast at €12 each was absolutely rubbish. Soft cornflakes, stale bread, no coffee left in urn. Not even any hot option. Terrible value for money.

It was a little out of town and didn’t feel safe walking back after dinner in the dark.

The village, scenery,buildings, the house Gaudí disaigned...

Very confused staff who did not speak English at all and took forever to check us in. The whole place felt a bit impersonal and like it was trying to be more modern and fancy than it actually is.

Very clean and spacious rooms. Staff was very helpful and accommodating.

Seems trivial, but property does not have ice machines. Also, the location is up a big hill from downtown area.

It was a very bad value for money hotel, very disappointing for a 4* hotel with those levels of prices.- Wi-Fi was not working in our room- Front door staff was not present when we arrived (5pm) and we had to wait for 15 mins- Amex was not accepted despite indicated during our arrival- At the room there was a smoke detector with a light constantly flashing during the night. Rooms were spacious and the location is a good base for day trips. Friendly and customer minded staff.

Facilities were technically not well maintained (mold in the bathroom, broken ceilings, safe not working in the room, fridge not working …)

Excellent attention from all the staff, the location is good for walking.

The hotel looks old and poorly maintenance.

A lovely hotel, a good size room, excellent staff, one or two issues after the recent reopening were handled brilliantly by the staff. Situated in a lovely quiet area a little away from the centre but with a sea view. We would stay here again, it was very good value.

Prior to our arrival we received a message saying that our safety was assured after the reopening. We found this a little strange. The door card would not lock the door and could not be fixed. The TV did not work at all. The receptionist responded in a very good way, she was excellent.
