- The staff were friendly. The breakfast was good. The hotel was clean and quiet. It was very conveniently located.
- Wonderful location for our cycling holiday. Host was delightful and gave us an upgrade on our room.
- Breakfast was typical for the area, served buffet style in a lovely room (with a patio, but no one was using that when I was there). Good coffee. The hosts are friendly and helpful. Zernez is a very quiet little town, with superb access to the Swiss National Park, whose visitor center is just a short walk from the hotel. There is a Coop for your grocery needs, a bank, a post office, a couple of restaurants. I was in a room that shares a toilet (one floor below) and a shower (two floors below). These were always available to me and well attended. The room was very nice, all that I needed. There is a train station, as well as bus stops, and a dedicated bus to the park, just across from the visitor center. Public transportation in Switzerland is the best I've seen, anywhere, and the SBB app is brilliant.
Cons -
- Our room was not ready at the check-in time advertised. The shower in our room was too short to stand up in. The beds were too short so our feet hung off the end. The hallways of the hotel smelled like cigarette smoke. The room was small. The hotel doors locked during the day and we had no way to get in, which almost caused us to miss our train.
- There's no pharmacy closer than Sargans, a 90-min train ride away - so come prepared!
- Bathroom separate from room, a little noisy in the evening when the window were open. Difficult to cool down room due to heat (due to street noise).

Perfect location for cycling trips, nice breakfast, great owner!
Cozy room, good access to hiking trails and national park.
Bathroom separate from room, a little noisy in the evening when the window were open. Difficult to cool down room due to heat (due to street noise).
Nice family run hotel, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good and there's quite a nice level of choice. The location is central andI very quiet at night. We came with bicycles and there was a nice storage we weer allowed to use without extra charge.
The bathroom and the shower were shared (not in the room) which was not explained well enough. I can understand the limited space available for the facilities but then I can't justify the cost of the room.
Cozy family hotel with exceptionally friendly family service. Excelllent command of languagesGreat tailored hiking tripsLovely quiet terrace in the backyard
We liked it all
Extremely friendly staff, beautiful, traditional Engadin-style building inside and outside in the heart of Zernez. The breakfast was not of a huge selection, but the quality was perfectly fine.
Super comfortable beds, great location, super friendly family-run business with lovely kind and helpful staff!
Host was very friendly and gave us a very warm welcome. The host even offered an upgrade and asked about specific breakfast times since we were the first guests to arrive. The breakfast covered all our wishes and the room was spacious and comfortable.
Nothing, everything was excellent.
Great location for the Swiss National Park
TV was not working (and was not fixed during our stay) so I missed Roland Garros ??
Friendly welcoming staff who went out of their way to accommodate our needs as a ski touring group staying at the beginning and end of our week long tour. All round very comfortable and a good breakfast.
Not much!
Everything was great from the beautiful room, perfect location to the included breakfast!
We liked everything.
Slightly cheaper than some other hotels nearby
The unfriendly breakfast service, I saw 2 English travelers getting harassed for trying to self-serve coffee using a self-service machine with unfriendy instructions in German. Classic Swiss inhospitality. The bathroom is ridiculously small, we had to go pee in the public toilet.
Spotless and very traditional decor which was lovely . Staff were lovely . Breakfast was simple but tasty
Nice reception from staffCosy roomBike shed
The room was cosy, though ultra- basic.Lovely wooden family home, very good food served in their restaurant. Yummy breakfast too.Friendly hosts
No Wifi in bedroom (single room). I feel the ultra basic room was overpriced, but maybe that’s just Switzerland, as others say .
As a starting point for a four day winter hike in Engadin it is good. The hotel is one of the few open at this time of the year. It's small and charming and is being run by an Italian couple that previously ran a mountain cabin but were tired of the snow, the wolves and the loneliness in winter. The place has a comfortable atmosphere and you are being warmly welcomed. Italian style. So positive. The menu is not big but cooked with passion and the taste flambé was good. Breakfast next morning went down well and so I was ready for the walk.
I would have appreciated a bit of a wider choice for the menu as well as the wine but given the season i can also understand why that was not the case.
Above all expectations! Clean, cozy, superb location, hospitable hosts. Definitely coming again.
Very friendly staff! The hotel was rustic and charming. Our room had beautiful wooden carvings and we had a view up on the mountain.Delicious breakfast!I liked that we had a basin in the room (toilet and shower was shared). The whole hotel was very clean and smelled nice thanks to the "room perfume".
There could have been vegan options at the breakfast - my partner brought his own plant-based "milk" for the cereals. The hotel is not super modern, but I prefer it like it is now, since it has more charm.
