- This is a Hundred Year Old Fabulous Hotel with Private Parking in the Sanctuary of: "La Virgen de la Covadonga".

- It is not a dislike, but a warning, its a traditional hotel on a very culturally connected site. If you come you gotta respect the area.

That I could only stay there for a couple of days.
Covadonga is magical and so is this hotel: historic, friendly and directly adjacent to the shrine. Fun, cute small bar onsite and parking right by the entrance (but it’s first come first serve). During the off season it’s a great deal and not as overrun with pilgrims or tour buses: go then, or during a weekday. Avoid weekends- can be a mad house. You’ll want to enter the sanctuary early. Also, great base for exploring the nearby lakes. We’ll be back. Breathtaking scenery and hiking.
all good.
Good location
We ordered half board and we expected a better food menu with a more varied selection. we asked to pay more and they didn't agree. When the food arrived it was below expectations, the steak was pretty bad.
Location, room, cleanness.
Few parking spots.
The location and the restaurant are excellent
Internet slow, bed is super small, it is about time hotels understand that 1.35 mt bed is not a couple's bed. And the mattress is horrible. The chair wobbles and is terrifying to sit.
The hotel was prime location. The hotel had big size rooms with a decent size bathroom for Spain. There was a restaurant on site but it had limited options (you also did not have many choices in restaurants in the area).
Parking was a pain - i believe half of the people who parked in the lot were not staying in the hotel. The doors/walls were thin so you can hear everything that was happening with your neighbors. Restaurant was pricy as it was the only one in the area and had limited choices - but if you want to eat, it's there.
The location is perfect. It is not much better
There are no amenities, such as restaurants, around the hotel. There are a few, but they are not open in the evening.
Location, a staff member from Brazil was amazing (apology we did not catch his name).
No tea and coffee facilities in the room, outdated TV, communal toilets dirty, some missing toilet seats.
The rooms had a spectacular view of the basilica. The location was next to the cave of our lady of Covadonga. The breakfast buffet was fresh, with many cheeses, meats and fruits.
The room heaters did not function, so they brought in space heaters. The staff did work hard to make everything comfortable.
The location is absolutely perfect, impossible to beat. Everything within walking distance. Outstanding views from the room. Very nice and large bedroom with cosy beds. Food is also excellent at the hotel.
Our room was amazing. We were right in the middle of the action. The staff member who greeted us was very nice & very helpful
The Food was not good at all. Very disappointing..
Location is absolutely top. Liked the old world charm of the place.
Dinner and breakfast were not up to par with the standard of the hotel.
The location is superb and the service was so special.
The towels were two for three people at 1st night. Garbage can was only in the bathroom not in the room. Towel warmer did not work.
Spacious room, good view, very peaceful
Coffe machine was not working at breakfast, would have liked better choice of cereals for breakfast, also better choice for breakfast of gluten free bread which had to be heated,
The room was a good size and clean, the hotel is very grand if a little faded and past its best. Staff were helpful and nice but you got the feeling they had a low level of training. Its a very beautiful location...but very remote. The restaurant offered a reasonable fixed price menu breakfast wa good
Parking was limited and poorly laid out, the staff, though very nice, appears a bit lost on how to run a hotel, for example us and another couple of guests were in the bar and it took ages for anyone to be around to take our order. The restaurant set up is a little strange too, if you have the cheaper menu you are in a different restaurant to the expensive one ... which feels kind of bizarre! Also, unless you are interested in the church, there is nothing to do, no choice of restaurants or bars...nothing!
The room was lovely and comfy, very good bed linen. The view of the Picos was nice.Breakfast was reasonable. They have 2 restaurants and we choose the michelin one which was truly delicious and tasty.
Disappointed with the bar attendance possibly due to short staff. Could be better and improved upon.
The location is perfect, easy 100m walk to catch taxi up to the lakes.
The food was extremely disappointing, both dinner and breakfast were awful. We were not given the option to dine in at front gastronomic restaurant on check in.
The staff were really welcoming and polite although we spoke very little Spanish. The cafeteria was great for a coffee and quick snack. The main restaurant was absolutely awesome and a must do if you’re staying a couple of nights, the steak was one of the best as was the lamb.
The bar didn’t open to 19:15 once the cafeteria closed although you could still get a drink in the cafeteria and bring it down. Coffee in the room would have been a bonus. The Internet is an intermittent and needs to be improved given it’s 2024, the location might be the issue.
