- The staff was very friendly and helpful, the facilities are great, comfortable beds, excellent breakfast, overall the hotel is excellent!
Cons -
- The room has a loose tile in the entrance in front of the bathroom
- Location is not the best. To get to downtown there is a 35-45 minute walk. The trail is pretty and nice, but is kind of a long walk, specially at night when it was cold. But we called the hotel and they got a taxi for us really quick.
- Beds were too hard! Not comfortable for us. Not a lot to do unless you drove somewhere.

The hotel was in an impressive old monastery. Room was spacious and clean with a nice view of the garden. Breakfast was extremely good.

Friendly staff, very clean, an excellent location half an hours riverside stroll from Cangas de Onis.
Nothing I can think of.
Charming quite place. The way it was converted yet preserved parts is great. Staff is very accommodating and nice.
Rooms are a bit condensed. Dinner was simply bad (the restaurant not the cafeteria which is good).
Beautiful property
We booked a double room but were given two beds even though I specifically asked for a queen. The breakfast was so so and expensive. I won’t go back
Historic site under restoration, but expensive. Breakfast should be included in the price.
Expensive
Excellent location, beautiful grounds, interesting history, lovely staff.
Decor a bit dated, could replace the carpeting.
Service, attention - and friendliness and attentiveness of ALL staff! Plenty of parking was a positive and of course the amazing medieval church/chapel and natural setting were a huge positive.
Rooms were a little dated- nice amount of space but could use a remodel. Breakfast shows preference of quantity over quality. Not bad, but could be better. Obras/work being done in the central courtyard and around that I was not aware of - was a negative.
Parador was extremely comfortable. There was so much of interest internally in the hotel that the 1 rainy day we had during our stay was easily occupied. Parking on site was excellent. Staff were very helpful, taking time to explain local areas of interest, checking access and weather, as well as advising on other paradors to stay in. Breakfast was fantastic, as was the evening meal we ate there.
We couldn’t stay longer.
Historical building, nice large room, very comfy bed, excellent breakfast offering, well groomed staff, free parking on-site
Some noise from the highway across the river, plus some early morning from the garbage pickup trucks
Besides being housed in a historical monument that has been meticulously been renovated, the staff was exemplary. Anna at reception was quick to solve my problem of having left a suitcase at my last hotel with utmost professionalism and delightful positivity. My stress melted away once she was in charge. Very much appreciated!! Also the fabada stew was outstanding!
Absolutely nothing.
Restaurant (diner and breakfast) and location are top
No coffee facilitations before breakfast, would be nice
The ambience. As paradors go, it kept to its objective of trying to preserve some aspect of what it used to be and still provide comfortable accommodations. The bar staff were very efficient and friendly.
The light in the room was not bright enough.
Lovely hotel in a great location spotless clean very comfortable great staff and food were on a road trip with 16 cars 32 people I think everyone was very happy with the hotel. We visited Fernando Alonso museum Brillent if you like F1 racing highly recommend
WiFi was poor and the air condition was useless that was the only problem
In the Cafe the meals were ok but limited. We felt the staff would like to have been more helpful but, as noted below, they were often over-extended and rushed.
The restaurant was awful; poor range of meals; canteen atmosphere; there was v little sense of engagement by staff; not good value for money. Overall we thought the Parador was hugely overpriced. On one night staff were over extended dealing with a wedding and as a result we had poor service and a long wait for our meal. The condition of the place was not good. Walls were scuffed and carpets looked dirty; a wall in our room ( in the tower) was damaged, a sink was cracked, it overlooked the bins, there were no complimentary tea/coffee making facilities and there was no lift to that level.
The room room was absolutely great, clean and functional. I did choose the hotel but would have liked it to be closer to town (my choice). I found the breakfast pricey and after a bad experience with the evening meal, decided not to have breakfast at the hotel.
The price of the breakfast and not a very pleasant evening meal where one of our party was ill through the night from the food that was served.
Absolutely stunning hotel converted from an old restored monastery, the place is dripping with history. An absolute joy to walk around. You'll need a car as it isn't in the centre of Cangas de Onis, and is a short 5 minute drive away.Rooms are very comfy and we enjoyed our stay so much we booked another night.Excellent breakfast
Service in the restaurant was extremely slow. No tea and coffee making facilities in room.
Fabulous location
Dinner service too late, starting at 8.30 pm. On checking we were asked to book breakfast and dinner times for both nights. We were not made aware of this when we booked.
