Pros +
- Good location, good breakfast, comfortable bed
- The breakfast was phenomenal! Wide selection of buffet items presented in the manner you would expect at a high end restaurant.
- The breakfast was amazing, the best I had so far in Spain. The hotel was in a quiet area and very close to all the restaurants.
Cons -
- Parking is difficult, but better than in the town center.
- Nothing. Loved everything and even stayed an extra day!
- My stay at Hotel Santa Cruz in July 2025 was disappointing due to inflexible policies and unresponsive service. The economy double room was clean and comfortable, though small, with very thin walls/doors that let in every hallway noise. Amenities were minimal—one shampoo/facewash combo, no cotton pads or other basics—and there was no in-room phone or 24/7 reception, which felt inconvenient.Due to a flight control strike in France, I couldn’t check in on July 3. I agreed to pay for that first night, understanding the room was held for me. However, I was frustrated when the hotel refused to refund or cancel the last night of my five-night booking. Travel from Onís to Asturias Airport was challenging, with limited early transport options, so I had to book a room near the airport for my final night. I felt the hotel could have easily resold my room, but when I raised this, the receptionist was dismissive, stating I agreed to the terms without further discussion or empathy. I contacted Booking.com’s customer service for help, but not only did they fail to resolve the issue, I later learned the hotel ignored their outreach as well, which made the situation even more frustrating.

While the hotel’s cleanliness is a positive, the thin walls, sparse amenities, and lack of accommodation from both the hotel and Booking.com made this stay fall short. I’d advise others to confirm cancellation policies upfront, especially if travel plans are uncertain, and to be cautious when relying on Booking.com for support. I hope the hotel and platform can improve guest communication and flexibility in the future.

Cute place at the edge of town. Convenient if you have a car. Breakfast was good. We spent 2 nights while visiting Pico De Europa
Lack of a fan - had to keep the door open to get fresh air
This place is amazing!! The breakfast is magical, perfect place to stay for the night after a long long day of hiking. Everything was wonderful and the front desk lady is so kind
Nice, specious rooms. Good shower. Working AC. Super helpful and friendly staff.
Very close to the town centre with its bars and restaurants.
Street parking could be difficult in the high season, but easy for us in February.
The location is great and having parking is a big difference as you are in the city centre with all bars and cafes !!!
very clean, comfortable enough and well located
Room a little too small
The room was very clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was very good. The hotel is close to downtown, although Cangas de Onís is small enough so that everything is within walking distance.
There is no parking the hotel, and on-street parking is hit or miss. The rooms could use a bit more decoration or more modern furniture.
Location,good price,clean and comfortable facilities.
I don’t have any complaints
Very clean, modern and great breakfast !!
Room next to sidewalk, would ask to be on other side next time.
We had a very nice and spacious room (Junior suite). Comfortable beds and good bathroom and shower. Very good selection for breakfast, including fried eggs. Excellent location.
Lack of parking was a problem for us, especially as it's so difficult to find a space within 5-10 minutes walk - not helped by quite a lot of rain.
The breakfast (10 euro extra) is very nice. The room is nice and clean.
The beds are, like in most hotels in northern Spain, very hard.
Hotel is in a great location. Our room was very spacious, and the bed was comfortable.
No complaints
Excellent location. Clean and comfortable room.
I wish the room was equipped with a refrigerator.
Location was good
Really overpriced for a very basic hotel. 'Mountain view' room has a view onto a public park and swimming pool without any actual mountains as advertised. Air conditioner despite being turned off kept making a very loud noise every 10-20mins making it impossible to sleep. Room not clean (hairs on the bed etc) and small, towels had holes. Breakfast an extra 10eur per person despite the already exorbitant price. No parking available either - we were told that there would be ample street parking but actually had to park a fair bit away and was quite difficult to find.We complained about the above, especially the air conditioner, and were given a very small compensation by management only; even with that it was still way more expensive than much much better places we stayed in other towns in Northern Spain and Picos de Europa region. The price is absurd compared to the rest of Spain. Strongly recommend staying elsewhere.
Everything was spot on. Clean, great customer service, great location, good buffet style breakfast with reserved time entry so it doesn’t get to crowded. Away from the main street but a 5 minute walk to it.
Our room was clean and the bed comfortable. The hotel indicated that there was building work and disruption in the area but this was not drastic.
The hotel was listed as pet friendly however it is not clear when booking that there was a fee of 35euro per night for our Yorkshire Terrier. Similar pet friendly hotels normally charge less than half this amount and provide facilities like beds and bowls for the dog. Nothing was included at this hotel. The AC in the room barely worked and the breakfast was basic. Local parking prices are exorbitant.
