Cons -
- Very very difficult to get to with luggage. No taxis from the train station, lots of steps and hills to climbs. Not very central. We had major issues with the A/C. Didn't work the second night, and bone down and leaked the third. Lost lots of sleeps.
- Very busy street with loud fast traffic all night.
- Shower didn't seal well so the bathroom got very wet. Bathroom countertop showed stains even after cleaning.Wifi was restricted from 7pm-8amNot as multilingual as they say

The bed was super comfy.
The hotel was perfectly located a short walk to old town (downhill), bus station and bus stop to Nice and other towns along the Riviera are right across the street. The family owned guesthouse has lovely owners. The son of the chez 'Betty' (who started the business) was a joy! Always a smile, they own and run the cafe/bar downstairs from the rooms (which closes at 8 or 9 nightly). Its a 'local' spot and everyone seems to be a big family! Great vibe.
Everything was as described. Clean, quiet, heat and a/c in rooms, comfy bed and pillow. Its a guesthouse for sure and a place to lay your head before exploring the town and surrounding area.
It was perfectly central near the port, beaches, markets and restaurants. I loved that there is a bar and cafe at the ground level. I could easily get a coffee or drink and I could tell it was a local spot.
It was on the Main Street so I could hear some traffic and street noises. But considering it’s such a small town, the noises weren’t too bad.
I'd read the reviews of this hotel, that's why I decided to stay here....and so, I was expecting a pleasant stay. However, I didn't know that I'd have a window overlooking the town square...it was really nice to open the window and get some fresh air and take it all in...when I closed the window, it was quiet!
I didn't mind that I had to carry my bag up two flights because I'm in shape and like to stay in shape; however, I think some people will not like it.
The staff were welcoming and helpfulThe bar was open in the eveningConvenient busses to NiceReasonably pricedSquare with a street market two days a week
Street noise if your room faces the street
The owner/manager is a wonderful guy. Very nice. They restaurant/bar below felt like an authentic locals hangout. The room was older, but nicely done.
It's pretty far from the train station - like a 15 minute walk involving hilss. The city center is about half of that distance, so you walk a lot. The breakfast was overpriced and very basic. No tv. No 24 hour service.
Convenient to Vieux Ville, buses, train station. Lovely staff (well met all three generations of owners!) who were very kind and helpful. Loved the friendly neighborhood vibe—enjoyed morning coffee/croissant, afternoon beer and evening pastis in the lounge. Very comfortable bed, good shower. Street noise didn’t bother at night with window closed and AC on.
Room was a bit small but we’re used to small spaces!
A cosy family owned hotel with a great story to tell. Having an annual booklet for the region is such a nice extra step to make our tourists' experience better! Very cosy and well furnished room with old school luxury feeling. Very close to the bus station.
Outside of the old town on the main crossroad makes a place noisy but it was expected so no surprise ?.
Staff were welcoming and friendly. Spoke English as well. The room, for its price, is good. Location is great, just 2min from the bus stop to Nice and walkable everywhere in Villafranche. Toilets were well-maintained. Overall a pleasant stay
Room walls are a little thin and the lighting could be brighter. Was a little dusty but for whats it's worth, it was not a bother.
The welcome was warm and accommodating, the room was small but comfortable, and the location was impeccable
Nothing, it was perfect!
The staff are lovely.
The location is great however the traffic is very loud so be prepared to accept this.
Old world feel. Very clean.
Walk from train not easy but we found better ways than google suggested Be good to have some more room facilities. Eg fridge hot water boiler
- Close to the harbor and the old town
- Very noise street downstairs- Old windows unable to keep away any sounds- Rooms are very dated and not properly cleaned- Although the hotel is also a café, breakfast wasn't included
Great location with bakery across the street, lively but charming bar downstairs for coffee or beer but didn’t stay open to late so was not a disturbance, picturesque ocean view from window, about a 10-15 min walk (beautiful walk) to the train station
Excellent location. Very friendly helpful staff. Lovely French shabby chic bedrooms . Light and bright.
I loved the staff - they were friendly, helpful and always cheerful. The location was good and the room was a cute blue theme.
The wall paint was cracking in places, which didn’t matter too much.
Very friendly staff. Good location and value.
Noisy road traffic only downside :)
