    Pros +

    • We stumbled upon this hotel when an air bnb failed us....last minute booking in an area we had wanted to get to but hadn't had the chance. (Our first taxi driver and a waitress had both told us about this town) What luck we had finding our way here...the owners are super nice, helpful, and truly enjoyable. The staff was excellent. Spotless. The breakfast was more than expected, and the pool was an added bonus. It has a bed and breakfast feel. Two great restaurants to walk to, along with a small market and a great boulangerie and a butcher with prepared hot meals and wonderful cheeses. It's close to an old town area on the water where we spent a day walking eating and sampling wine. There was a beach there as well. Close enough to Nice, it's oldtown and airport. Although there is easy access to the bus and trains Uber was easy and cost effective....highly recommend this spot!!
    • The hotel is in a good location if you’re planning to explore the area by car, as it’s roughly halfway between Monte Carlo and Nice. The rooms are what you would expect from a 3-star hotel.
    • Perfect location to all that we wanted to see. Nice terrace. Breakfast was nice with a variety of foods. Crepes, bacon and Sausage, eggs, fruit, cheese, juices, hot drinks.

    Cons -

    • Some aspects could be improved, such as adding a small safe in the room. The pool area is nothing special, and on our last day the pool wasn’t working due to excessive heat. I would have expected a refund from the hosts, but instead they only offered a very small discount.
    • A lot of steps to access our room
    • Nothing really unless you can't manage stairs. Would have liked to know about using the hot tub but that's a small thing and we were only there a few days. Fridge in room would be a bonus. Mosquitos but they're everywhere seemingly at this time. The lovely staff make up for it ?

Little strange the gentleman very calm and accommodate the lady shouting at night

    8GeoffPosted on: 10-16-2024

    Excellent views. Helpful host.

A lot of steps to access our room

This is a lovely small hotel up above Villefranche. Facilities are great beautiful pool but a little cold. Staff especially our host Fabrice were so welcoming and helpful. The view is stunning but that does mean a very steep walk down town and back but if you're able and healthy it keeps you fit. If not get an uber. It's immaculate and tasty breakfast would def return.

What a delightful place. I loved being a decent walk (and it is) to the front. The staff were wonderful as was Reeva the dog. Great locals bistro a minute walk away

There could’ve been slightly better selections at breakfast (fresh juice/coffee/pastries). That said, the eggs were fabulous

    Great view and lovely service

    Somewhat isolated

    9LisaPosted on: 9-29-2024

Loved the relaxed, homely feel and how welcome Charlotte and Febrice made us feel. Very peaceful and quiet at night, great pool and amazing views. Lovely little place to sit outside our room or up on the balcony to enjoy the views.

The hosts, Charlotte and Fabrice were great. The view was excellent and the dog was very cute. The room was very clean and laid out well, as was the bathroom. The hotel is located on the "middle road"and there is a bistro, market, bakery and gas stations nearby. Parking was very convenient and cost 15 Euro per day.

The room needs a mini-fridge and an amoire' instead of open shelves to store your things. The breakfast was good, but could have had a more varied selection- minor suggestion. The room was a little on the expensive side- has a great view, but was out of the town center.

Location is very nice with an amazing view... Breakfast was good. Top of all, Charlotte the owner was so friendly and helpful !

Fantastic location and view! The hosts are so lovely and welcoming. They were excited to help us book reservations and make our stay perfect! Great personal touches throughout

    Nothing!

This is a wonderful 10/10 stay. We were a little co concerned because of the mixed reviews. The hotel has recently changed ownership. Charlotte and Fabrice are incredibly warm and welcoming. The rooms are fantastic, pool lovely with a stunning view. We were even so late for dinner one night that Fabrice cooked us a 3course dinner of duck breast and beans. Highly recommend!!

You need to walk about 15min up from the coast, we liked this as it kept us fit after all the eating and drinking, worst case ubers/taxis are available. Apart from that the hotel has good access, just a few stairs.

Beautiful swimming pool with diving board, kids loved it

20euro by taxi for dinner in Villefranche so would be better if you had a car, which we did not

    8MonicaPosted on: 8-25-2024

The new owners are working hard to make this a friendly little hotel in Villefranche. Charlotte and her partner were very helpful and kind to me. The pool is lovely and the room is a decent size.

I personally found the bed way too hard. The room was very clean but the common areas need a little attention. The location is high above the village of Villefranche-sur-mer on the moyenne corniche. There are a great deal of stairs to the village, which some people will be okay with but would be a deal breaker for others. I am very fit, so I did not mind it, but I still found it exhausting in the heat.

We enjoyed the view from our hotel room, the hospitality we received from staff, and our room altogether. We also liked that it was more of a quiet area in the evening and night.

We really didn’t enjoy that in our room we didn’t have a refrigerator. France has amazing refrigerated products in grocery stores and we were somewhat upset that we couldn’t buy any of it because we had no fridge in our room. Utensils could have also been provided! I personally would have preferred the hotel to be a little closer to the shore, because walking up the stairs can be tiring but it’s not a big problem.

We had the most amazing stay, the hotel was lovely with a lovely swimming pool. Charlotte couldn’t have been more welcoming! So friendly & our room was perfect!! The breakfast was so tasty and everything was so fresh. We cannot wait to come and stay again!

There wasn’t anything. We loved everything

    9FrancescoPosted on: 8-12-2024

Great location and hotel layout, nice rooms, really good outdoor pool

Breakfast seems to be very expensive, I wish they had a simpler cappuccino and croissant and orange juice option for less. But we also very easily went to the local cafe just outside

Swimming pool area was lovely, our quadruple room was roomy and comfortable.Easy to find and car parking was good

    7AnnettePosted on: 8-4-2024

This is a hotel with a very personal feel. The owners (and their dog) are very present and very friendly. They can’t do enough to help. The pool area is fantastic with beautiful views - a lovely area to relax and unwind. The bar area overlooks the bay and they have a very lovely Rose wine called crazy horse that I highly recommend. The room had most of what we needed. The beds were very comfortable with nice white linen and the room was cleaned daily with fresh towels. Be aware that there is no fridge or safe in the room. But the owners provided us with ice and offered to look after our passports. We met some really nice people at this hotel. One couple told us they’ve been coming to this hotel for 5 years. Another lady said she’d chosen it as it’s dog friendly. Another lady was visiting with her young son who played freely in the lounge area with his Lego. It had such a family feel to it.

The hotel is not in Villefranche itself but up the hillside. There are a lot of steps down (and up) to the town I’m relatively fit but found it hard going in the heat. We took an Uber (€13 each way) most of the time if we didn’t want to arrive hot and sweaty. Don’t get a Taxi as they’re expensive (€30 each way!!) I’ve never used Uber before but it was quick and easy and all the drivers were really nice. Some elements of our room were a little tired. The lock on our door was troublesome and one day we couldn’t unlock it for sometime. Charlotte was very apologetic when we raised it - and her mobile number is on display should we have needed assistance. But don’t be put off from staying here - where this hotel lacks - it is definitely made up for by the owners and the pool.
