About
Kiani Beach Resort is ideally located on the beach of Kiani, just a few miles east of Chania center and old Venetian town. It offers 2 pools, a sea-view restaurant, an open theater and a tennis court. All guest rooms have self-controlled air conditioning, satellite TV, kitchenette with fridge, hairdryer and balcony or patio. The large swimming pool lined with sun-beds and umbrellas enjoys the service of the beach bar for snacks and beverages and is just steps from the beach of Kiani. The shallow beach, the children’s swimming pool, the pirate ship-shaped playground or the open theater makes this resort a haven for families with young children. A rich buffet breakfast is served daily at the hotel’s breakfast room just a short distance from the water. The buffet restaurant Symposium offers Cretan dishes for a romantic dinner at the open-air porch. At the beach bar next to the sea and the pool, guests can relax to the sounds of soft music and enjoy the breathtaking views, with a cocktail, juice or refreshing beverage. The staff at the 24-hour front desk can arrange car rental to explore villages such as Kalami, Armeni and the archeological site of Aptera. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout. It is 17 miles from Chania Airport.

- Very poor
- I loved the resort, the location was a bit away from Chania town but it has everything you need. The staff was amazing and friendly and the our room was extraordinary big!!
Cons -
- Location
- It is not a 5 stars hotel. The food is HORRIBLE. The place to eat and the food looks like dinning in jail. The towels are like sandpaper. I cannot find shampoo in all the hotel. The beach has rocks. The pool has water too cold like ice so I cannot use it. The staff is not kindly. I will not come back
- The only thing I would love to have for my next visit is the swimming pool. It was too cold outside you should try to warm the water specially during this time of the year

Great location, so close to the sea, great beach. Very friendly staff and great animation team and entertainment.
The kids club stuff was amazing, they played with the kids and really made a big difference for all.The reception team was great as well.
The food at times was over cooked and the cleaning team took his time to come over even after specific request. The rooms were located next to the access road and it was noisy at times.
Exceptional customer attention - Evangelina in reception very helpful with my last minute booking requests. Food was outstanding and chef very helpful for gluten free celiac options. Animation team led by Lilly was terrific. Clean and updated facilities , outdoor pool and sun loungers perfect at end of March.
Comfortable bed and pillowsThey had a good amount of vegetarian and vegan food options.
The activities are only for kids and it gets really loud during the day.The walls are very thin and could hear conversations clearly from other room. Room was not cleaned and used cups were not replaced when cleaned also.
Very friendly and helpful stuff in the whole resort. Everyone was smiling and made sure that we feel welcomed and comfortable.
Some of the cleaning staff does not speak any English. This made communication with them difficult.
Clean, location, facilities, staff, pools, beach, rooms.
The Fact you have to pay to upgrade to VIP to get branded drinks when it’s supposed to be a 5 star hotel. Mixers are horrific even when you’ve upgraded. Spoils the drink you’ve technically had to pay twice for.
The resort was very kid friendly! My kids had a great time with the staff. They were so interactive and had tons of activities for the kids. The food was delicious and they had stuff even our picky kids would eat.
A lot of kids were left unattended, especially at meal time. I watch one child scoop I cream out of the self-serve freezer, lick the scoop, then go back for seconds. Also, the walls to our room were paper thin. Thankfully we only shared on wall. But our neighbors snoring kept me up most nights? That’s how easily you could hear your neighbors.
Our room was the perfect size and allowed our teenage kids to have a degree of independence with our worry.Food was of a good quality and variety during our stayThe kids club staff were excellent and our younger kids really enjoyed the activities.
Our room was located at the edge of the resort and was, for the most part quiet. However, construction works at the adjoining site did start quite early in the morning. The pools were a little too cold for our kids but use of the indoor spa pool meant they didn't miss out.
The kindness of the stuff, the food (the chef created marvelous and very taste Cretan food), the wonderful room, the beach, spa, the tours arrangement, the cleaning ladies. They made everything to be easy and friendly. The reception helped us to stay an extra day. My husband and I had a very good time. We definitively will go back to Kiani on our next trip to Crete.
The louder metalic music. I think they should have Cretan/Greek music. Maybe rooms with the same view but with no metalic loud music.
The staff were nice and the location is good for families.
The north side building is quite rundown. You have a view of the beach but the buildings are run down. The south side with the newer buildings appeared much nicer. If I went back I would sacrifice the ocean view for the newer buildings.
Location is amazing, views are breathtaking. Property itself clean and modern. Staff welcoming and helpful.
Very good
There was only one person at the pool bar serving drinks and it was taking long time to get one because of the queues
A really nice hotel complex, lovely pool areas and great access to the beach. Warm sea, shallow with soft sand. Great for the kids to swim in. Good location in a quiet rural setting and with excellent facilities for the kids. Good selection of food at the buffet. We had some really good meals. The animation team and kids club staff were excellent!
The two tier all inclusive arrangement led to delays getting served drinks where the 'premium' customers ordered cocktails which took a while to prepare. This was by no means a big deal!
The new area of the hotel is lovely. Good pool facilities and nice buffet restaurant. Nice rooms. Comfortable beds. Lovely staff.
We had issues on arrival with that room being unclean. The staff were excellent and sorted it out immediately. We moved room and can’t fault it from there. There is nothing within walking distance. If you’re happy to just chill for the week it’s good. We had a car so explored a few days.
Hotel is very clean and has a very goos sea view. Friendy personal. Clean room.
If you want to drink special coctails you have to pay.
Had an excellent stay at Kiani with three adults and a 15 month old. There were some particular stand outs:Food: My wife and I are vegan and I am also Gluten Free. Naturally, this can often make food very difficult (especially in all inclusive). However, there were always some options in every day (Lots of carbs and veg, but occasionally kidney beans/chickpeas etc). What was the real stand out though, was that the Chef was more than happy to accomodate us and talk us through all of the vegan options in every meal. Additionally, he would make gluten free vegan pancakes every morning for us, GF cornflakes, and a GF vegan dessert at meal times. Almond milk and chocolate alpro soya was also available. This was hugely appreciated! (There is also an organic food shop in nearby Kalyves which sells tofu/oat milk etc). Staff: The staff at Kiani were incredible. Very accommodating and friendly and great with kids. The real stand out was Paola one of the members of the waiting staff. She was absolutely excellent with our son theo and we hope that management are aware of how great she is! Beach: Beach was lovely, water was great, always were sun beds available. Pools: With so many pools to choose from there was always a place you could get that wasn't too busy. Swim lanes were often free. Room: Family room was large, had all the amenities you might need and was very clean every day.
Although the food exceeded expectations, it would be really good to see a vegan protein source at every meal (Beans, legumes, tofu, chickpeas etc). Pools: The pool water was really quite cold but you do acclimatise to it (The first day is chilly!) Spa: We would have loved to have used the Spa but it was VERY expensive in comparison to other local spa's and massages.
