    Pros +

    • Nice room, good view, comfy bed, good facilities, excellent shower, breakfast was good, all the staff were nice and very helpful.
    • Charming hotel with great room amenities. Very comfortable beds, spacious room and bathroom. We had room 23 with great views of the country side. Mostly sound proof. The location of the hotel is ideal to wander around the village of Vezelay by walking.
    • Location: right at the entrance to the old town, a few minutes walking to the basilica easy parkingexcellent breakfast

    Cons -

    • 1) I am not sure if it was a misunderstanding as my wife isn’t a native French speaker but when we arrived the reception staff (who was very helpful) asked if we wanted breakfast and told my wife it was 15euros per person so my wife reserved breakfast. At checkout however we were charged 25euros person.2j a little thing really. I was on the top floor and had a great view but of course it’s an old house with sloping ceilings so I banged my head twice! Perhaps a small sign saying “Mind Your Head” in French or English would help.
    • Mostly sound proof, our neighbors entered their room at 12:30 and were loud talkers. We knocked on the wall to let them know they had neighbors that were trying to sleep. They kept quiet after.
    • Sadly the restaurant is closed on Mon/Tues, although there are other dining options in the village. Google told us several of those restaurants were closed too, but when we actually arrived in the village they were open! So don’t trust Google!

Centrally located at the beginning of the old town, easy parking, nice room, friendly staff.

Beautiful classic hotel in a picture perfect Burgundy village. Breakfast expensive (especially for us with the weak Canadian dollar ?) but plentiful and of good quality. We had a family suite (two interconnected rooms with bathrooms) which was very spacious.

Sadly the restaurant is closed on Mon/Tues, although there are other dining options in the village. Google told us several of those restaurants were closed too, but when we actually arrived in the village they were open! So don’t trust Google!

Beautiful hotel just on the bottom of the steep hill in Vézelay. Nice comfortable terras outside and inside the bar there is great seating too. Bedding and pillows comfortable and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Especially the gentlemen when we arrived. He immediately helped with our luggage and showed us where to store our bicycles.Because their restaurant was closed he even made a reservation for us at another place in town. Great service all around.

room was good. easy check in, friendly staff.

dining area a bit stuffy, not good for breakfast

    7MichaelPosted on: 5-1-2025

    Reception was friendly.

A very poor menu choice. It was either this or that. Pathetic in 2025 and terribly overpriced as well.

I liked the location, close-by parking, modernized interior and appointment in a charming old building, stunning views.

The restaurant seemed to only offer full menus.

    9KathyPosted on: 4-10-2025

    Friendly staff and good location

No Tea bags in room, not everyone is a coffee lover .

The location was good and the room was comfortable. We had nice views of the countryside. It was very peaceful. Staff was very friendly.

    8TimothyPosted on: 11-5-2024

Nice big room with scenic view towards the village

Restaurant was either closed or booked for a private function on each of the three nights we stayed.

    8MayaPosted on: 10-19-2024

Good traditional hotel. Professional staff, clean rooms.

    7JesyicaPosted on: 10-19-2024

The location, the staff. I liked the view from the front of my room!

The pillows were old lumpy and smelt :/ and my room was above the kitchen and my “terrace” looked into the parking lot which is not what I was shown on booking.comThe room was not comfortable, more sterile, old fashion, not in a good way, not comfy. The dinners were set menus and so expensive if your a vegetarian you are out of luck, the breakfast buffets were the worst I had in France, for a fancy hotel it was nothing special.

    10JohnPosted on: 10-10-2024

The Buffet breakfast was superb in every way. The staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful. We could have stayed and stayed! The room was quiet and comfortable. However, we could not make the bedroom shutter to work.

The bathroom is exceptional. Great design.

The bakery in the town was closed the day we departed.

We liked our room on the 5th floor with wonderful views.

Breakfast was too expensive. We are elsewhere.
