Hotel Mercure Le President Biarritz Centre

The staff was very friendly and the location was good.

A strong odor of sewer from the bathroom so door had to be kept closed.I asked to turn on the air,they said it?s still on winter setup.Some April days are over20C.I opened the window and got mosquitos! This property isn?t 4-star, more like a 3-star.

The staff were brilliant. Really helpful and could not speak highly enough of them. Location was excellent and we loved the breakfast.

Terrific location. Good view of the ocean. Helpful and pleasant reception. Bed comfortable. Public car park immediately next door.

The partition between the bedroom and the shower features a glass window. Why? If, for aesthetic reasons, it is considered necessary, then, at least, provide a roller blind that would provide privacy..

Beautiful hotel having recently been refurbished in a great location just a short walk from the seafront and port. The room was large and comfortable with a great sea view. The staff were welcoming and helpful and happy to chat if they didn’t have other guests to deal with. The room amenities were great and the WiFi was strong too. We didn’t have a breakfast option but it smelled good. As we were travelling on a motorbike, we were able to park on the pavement right by the front door. Having stayed in a Mercure in Lourdes the night previously, which was abysmal, this property in Biarritz was piles apart and we weren’t just pleasantly surprised but delighted when we checked in.

There was nothing we didn’t like.

Fabulous location with a direct sea view from our room which was spectacular. Clean and modern room, nice toiletries and coffee and drinks provided plus a good range of foods available for breakfast and a car park next door to the hotel which had space for our large car. Would definitely stay here again.

Car parking isn’t guaranteed but the staff said if it was full there were plenty of other car parks close by

They taxed my children a ‘taxe de sejour’ although the law says it only applies from 18 year old onwards. I had to prove them before getting reimbursed.

Location was great. Right in from of galleries Lafayette. Short walk to beach/ market/ attraction/ shopsLoved the lighthouse/ sea views / Nespresso machine We loved the free filtered cool water dispenser available on each floor which we could use to fill with refillable water bottles provided.

The window from the shower room on top of the bed is a privacy issue from anyone using the shower. Putting up a blind would remedy that. Toilet is separate from shower area.Didn’t like the size of the bed. The room was spacious but bed was a small double. Not very spacious for two people. The reception staff were friendly and helpful during checkin and check out but the lady who worked in the late evening did not even acknowledge us when we arrived back to the hotel. Wish there was a sofa to sit on but it would make the room more cramped.10 minutes taxi ride to train station.Small hotel in a old building. It was busy coz of the summer season

There was a technical error the evening before our arrival so the Hôtel organised us to stay at their sister hotel, The Plaza. We loved everything about the Plaza- accommodation; staff; location 10/10. It was definitely a case of turning a lemon into lemonade!!!

Nice rooms, appeared recently decorated, and hotel well situated close to the beach and all central Biarritz amenities and restaurants etc. We didn’t try the breakfast. Staff were really helpful.
