    Pros +

    • Close to the beach, main shopping area, and food market.
    • The bed was so amazing, I actually asked for the website for where they got them from. I haven't felt that way about a hotel bed in more than two decades.More importantly, of course, is the warm and friendly welcome both I and my dog received. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
    • Quite small bijou hotel Well designed. Clean and the hotel personnel were helpful and sociable.Great choice for breakfast and everything was delicious. No other meals are provided but the hotel is well placed in Biarritz and there is a choice of eateries within walking distance

    Cons -

    • As the hotel was very central it does not have parking. It was not easy to find in a lovely town with a lot of one way streets, Also pouring with rain and it was the festive season and night time. ,so that goes some way to explain that!
    • I would have loved if the room was better isolated, as I could hear other guests walking along the corridor at night.
    • Breakfast could have a little more variety and a better way to cook the eggs

Nestled in the quaint area of Biarritz overlooking the ocean made our stay comfortable and pleasant. Breakfast was hearty. And the ginger shot was a unique touch. ?George, Luke and Manu were amazing.

I loved the central location and the kind receptionists (Laura and Léo). The decor was stylish and cozy, and the bed was really comfortable.

I would have loved if the room was better isolated, as I could hear other guests walking along the corridor at night.

A very good location next to Plage du Port Vieux. Wonderful staff. An independent, authentic feel.

Breakfast could have a little more variety and a better way to cook the eggs

Staff, position, services and wonderful breakfast.

    All good!

The style, the location, the comfortable bed and pillows, the large shower head, the great staff and the lovely breakfast buffet.

    8CherylPosted on: 10-31-2025

Great location close to the beach, restaurants and shopping. They provided a full breakdown of juices, eggs, pastries and fruit, and coffee. Nice staff. Our room had a small « Juliette » style balcony.

The room was very small. The WC barely had room to turn around in.

    10LovettPosted on: 10-18-2025

Very clean and comfortable. Easy access given limited car access into that specific area.

No mini refrigerator which would be useful especially for longer stays

My entire stay at Alfred Hotels Port-Vieux was wonderful--which is especially significant since I had been ill for over two weeks and was also dealing with tendinitis in one foot when I arrived. During my stay, several members of the staff were enormously helpful to me in finding me a nearby doctor and recommending places to eat that were as close as possible to the hotel so I didn't have far to walk on my painful foot. Dorianne, Ines, Alex, Valentin, and Giorgios all collaborated to locate things for me, and later on several independently helped me locate places I needed to go in town, researched alternative transportation options for me, and communicated with the driver who took me to my next destination since I was unable to use the train as I'd originally planned. Other staff members were uniformly pleasant and helpful. They're a wonderful team.

I was sorry to leave this hotel and its wonderful staff. There was really nothing I didn't like, and I'll happily recommend the hotel to any friends planning to include Biarritz in their travels.

Location and the warm feeling you get dealing with Dorian and her manager Janet. Super people makes for a great holiday.

Seaside room was very small and did not have a view of the ocean. If you step out on the Juliet balcony, the sea is visible to the side. Staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was very good. Location is excellent.

It was close to the Port View beach, but quiet at night. The breakfast was good but expensive.

The coffee machine that was offered in the maison where my room was never worked. My room was awfully tiny for the price I paid.

    7PeterPosted on: 9-10-2025

Very comfortable beds and bedding. The room is small, but super efficient and very clean. Nice sink and shower. The staff is very helpful and friendly.

Don’t pay extra for the breakfast.

    Excellent location clean facilities

Rooms smaller but expected that. Wasn’t a problem

This hotel was so convenient to the Port Vieux beach. We loved swimming there. It was also close to restaurants. The A/C worked great. The room was quiet and comfortable.

The parking garage is quite crowded and a bit difficult to maneuver.

    9Lisbeth62Posted on: 8-4-2025

Excellent location, clean and stylish interiors with comfortable and quiet rooms. The staff were incredibly helpful (I'm an English Speaker) and the free tea/coffee/pastries/tote bag/post-cards were all lovely touches. The room was small but perfect for me (a solo traveller). Would recommend!

Loud plumbing works in the annexe part of the hotel

    7LynnePosted on: 7-24-2025

Perfectly located a block from the beach staff was friendly. Breakfast was ample, although only if you're prepared to eat a lot of gluten and carbs.

Room was very small, which didn't bother us that much air conditioning was a bit not enough. I don't think the hotel can improve this, but the sound carries between floors very much. The parking situation was pretty bad, which is not within the hotels control, but they probably could give a lot more strategies for how to park where to park.
