ibis Antibes Sophia-Antipolis

Location okay for the purpose of my trip. I especially booked an Ibis as I was expecting the same standard of room/facilities as I would get in the UK

- Very dated - Not very clean - Shower not great (shower head kept turning to the wall as - soon as the water pressure went through it and you could not angle it so the water would flow straight down)- One socket on the room with a very dodge extension lead that probably should not be used because it looks like a fire hazard.- the lighting in the room is inadequate- Restaurant menu purely in French, I would’ve expected a hotel that is close to business parks to have English on the menu as well to accommodate international travelers

The rooms smelled of smoke or something similar. They had scaffold on the front of the building. Not a very clean hotel and wear & tear is really obvious and cracks in the bathtub

Pool was fabulous and spotless too

Non guests were using the pool but were eventually moved on by management .No security cameras anywhere covering the car park

The pool is great with kids and the restaurant was good too.

The rooms are a bit dated.The restaurant staff were a bit out of sorts. The day we checked in we wanted to see the pool and we assumed the way to the pool could also be from the restaurant as the steps are connected to it.As soon as we went out a guy saw us and just tried to close the door and keep us outside. The guy had no uniform was in shorts and felt like was a hotel guest. And we came to the door quickly and he says to us this is not the way to the pool. And if you want I can show you the door to the pool. Later we saw that all the restaurant staff were having dinner or something and none was in their uniforms. But it seems they don’t understand that guests don’t live there to know what is what in that hotel. And instead of offering to ask and help they just think shutting the door is hospitality.

Good and clean room, OK breakfast (love their Madeleines, but otherwise nothing special), friendly staff. The in-house restaurant and bar are quite good. Swimming pool use included. Public transport (bus) connection OK, even though Sophia Antipolis isn't optimal for public transport.

The duvet was super heavy. I couldn't adjust the temperature in the room, which was rather cool on the day (OK better than the heat outside but I could've done with the room being a bit warmer) but then too warm at night with the thick duvet and too cold without. I didn't like that for using the internet I was asked to sign up for some membership (Accor/Ibis!?) and if I don't do that they only provide "slow internet". Admittedly it wasn't that slow; I've had worse (but it could be better). Still, that they try to twist my arms for having me sign up to a membership like this wasn't nice.

There is limited area at the reception area for guest to chill. The toilet at reception could be cleaner & fresher.

BedbugsNot their fault but for those interested in booking here, just know there are not a lot going on here. No restaurants besides the one in house. Far from the city center and buses only run until around 9. The price does not justify the room for what it is.

The room was ok and the stuff was very nice.

There was only one towel in my room. I had to ask for another and the stuff gave me, but I found this different comparing with other time when I stayed here. I was surprised and not in a good way..

Easy check in and nice clean rooms.

Not much in room ammenities. Bar/Restaurant only opened at 7pm.

People working at hotel are great, very friendly and helpful

1. a bottle of water in the room is normally expected, especially by people travel from far. but there was no water to drink in the room.2. refrigerator was missing in the room

Quiet relaxing location with good facilities. Room is compact and fine if you're organised. Air conditioning is good and the pool is very welcome. There are car charging points.

The sink was very slow at draining, and no one was available to sort it as it was a weekend. Car damaged by thoughtless guest opening car door into our car.

The staff were very nice and helpful, most of them speaking English. I liked the bide in the (fairly big) bathroom. It was good that there was a swimming pool. It and the area around it was clean and neat. Breakfast was good, with a lot of variety. And there was a kettle with tea bags and coffee. It is a nice place to spend a few days, relaxing.

The room could be a bit bigger. I wish we had stayed there a bit longer, not just one night. ? And a fridge would be useful.
