Campanile Dax - Saint Paul les Dax

The advertising says hotel. This property was a motel with all the room having door to the outside and no interior entrances. There was no where to sit during the day except the restaurant. Very old. Heating not working and very noisey with paper thin walls.

One of the nicest locations for a Campanile that we've ever stayed in over the years. Just a very short drive into Dax centre but best is that just across the road is a park with a large lake that you can walk round with (or without) a dog but can also admire the view from the restaurant. Staff were great and spent a long time patiently explaining exactly what the demi-pension deal allowed you to eat and drink at dinner. Breakfast and dinner were good. Room clean and tidy but a bit tired. Grass and bins by hotel so all dog friendly.

Had what we wanted, pet friendly room easy access to room and hotel facilities, able to walk our dog in woodland near the hotel.

Have been before and hotel beginning to look a little tired apart from the dining area which has had a little revamp.The cost of the dinner, we felt the charge for the meal was somewhat excessive for what we had but it was enjoyable.

Hotel receptionist was first class. Extremely helpful.

We have stayed at Campanilles for the last 12 years and know what to expect from the room so fine on that front

No longer Pet friendly. Dogs were allowed in restuarant previously which is no longer the case and no notice of the change provided when we booked., 24 degrees and you could not sit outside with or without dogs. Only food available were two pizzas. Sad as it was an affordable place with pets and a lovely lake over the road.

The food in the restaurant was very poor. Overpriced and very meagre helpings. One very small piece of chicken with rice. No vegetables with any main course and no salad.

Location, local amenities

The room was worn and shabby, although there were tea and coffee in the room, it looked like it had been there some time. No hair dryer. Overall it needed modernisation and is not worth the payment I would not use again. The breakfast (optional) was poor value for money too, coffee was good.

It’s not modern in any shape or form . Very clean and comfortable, it’s obviously used by work men as a stopover, however the food in the restaurant was very good , and staff very helpful.

You could hear noise from the next room .

Lovely location, have stayed there before, en route through France. The hotel is getting a little “tired” looking, but still value for money.

Perhaps a freshen up of the facilities, and a little tidier where repairs have been carried out in the room!

Location is great .easy to find .location near lake is a bonus.good access into town.

We have stayed here for many years but I'm afraid it's gone downhill. Radiator hanging off wall toilet roll holder also hanging off. 2 kettle bases one not working the other wobbled so badly it's dangerous. The menu is shocking. This campanile needs a total refurbishment. I don't think we will stay again.

Location was good…

Doors didn’t close properly. Only one extra pillow ( there were two of us!) only one socket. Really cold floor.

Friendly staff, great continental breakfast. Nice Lake opposite (although you do have to cross busy road to get to it). And Lidl supermarket close by.
