    Pros +

    • Breakfast room and breakfast
    • Very friendly staff, close to Ammersee, very satisfying breakfast.
    • Great location. Close to the beautiful lake Amersee and access by car to a private beach which was beautiful. Situated In the laid back town of Dießen which has good selection of shops and restaurants. Property is clean with all facilities required for a self catering apartment plus extra. We had the Garden room, which had a grass area with decking and was perfect for summer evenings. Hosts were welcoming and happily gave extra towels when needed.

    Cons -

    • It was not advertised accurately. It is NOT a lakeside property. It is in the middle of the town, 10 min walk to the lake. They apparently have a lake access area 3 km from the hotel. Since I did not have a car, I couldn’t go to their lake side area. Second big problem was the check in. Check in is 4pm which is fine but what I didn’t realize you can even get into the building before 4pm to leave your bags or use the bathroom etc. the building is locked. I called them and a voicemail said to call another number if there is an emergency, that number went directly to voicemail. Came back at 4pm. The building was open this time but there was no one at the Reception. I had to call them from inside the hotel for someone to come and check me in. Third problem. It is extremely expensive for what they offer. In addition to the service issues, the room was very stark and bathroom is old and tired but clean
    • The room without air conditioning was unbearable on hot summer nights, and the room was not soundproof, so I had to wake up to the alarm from the next room early in the morning. Also, the open shower area was a bit uncomfortable. Nevertheless, it was a cozy hotel that I liked.
    • All good- maybe some fans if weather becomes too hot

Wonderful, quirky rooms in a house with character and charm. Lovely hosts. A truly sumptuous breakfast

Although it's an old building, sound proofing is good, no floors cracking or such. Can walk everywhere in town from there. Breakfast is great and taken seriously, best Laugenstangen we had in our lives, so crispy...The hosts made very professional recommendations for dinner.

View from our window was building few meters away, but that's the price of being central.

The >500 years of history for this hotel - explained with pleasure by one of the owners - was amazing to learn and you could almost feel it when seeing all the little details of this building. Just very exceptional.Another highlight: The breakfast is just perfect - local, great choice and super friendly staff to help. Good for all kinds of flavors or expectations, from vegan, veggie to a nice selection of cheese and others.

    Breakfast was great

The room is rather small, simple and minimalist (despite it's unorthodox design). The shower and sink are part of the room. The noise from the street.

Really cool & unique decor, amazing lakeside area for hotel & appartement guest use 5min drive, nice & thoughtfully considered guest information. Appartement in the seperate house (pink door) is really well equiped, great for kids, little fenced garden. Really cute village.

Lovely welcoming staff, a friendly boutique hotel. Great location to explore Diessen and surrounds, we also loved the private lake access. The Loft is a lovely family space perfect for spring or autumn (and probably winter given the heaters - it would be gorgeous and sunny).

It was hot in the loft on the hot summer days, and the fans only went part way to cooling it. Blackout curtains would have helped us sleep in too, as the sun came in very early. The rooms lower down in the hotel seemed much cooler.

Pleasant to have the use of their lakeside property. Appreciated the friendliness, helpfulness and good English of the staff.

Difficulty in using the key to unlock the outside door to let myself in at night.

This was supposed to be the last stop of our 2 weeks road trip. A place to rest before the flight back. It turned out to be another gem in a very authentic village. The structure itself is beautiful, and the staff was very nice. The breakfast was the best we had on our tour. On the last day, we had to leave early to the airport so they opened the dining room early.

Well organised from first email acknowledging the booking with detailed informations. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room clean and comfortable. Rich breakfast which I was able to have before 8 which I appreciate a lot. Also vegan, allergy free options. I hope to be able to come back in the future as this hotel and location needs few days to be fully enjoyed.

the best breakfast in Bavaria. very friendly staff and interesting artwork

    9StephenPosted on: 8-8-2022

All the people in the hotel were super friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was really really good, one of the best I have had in any hotel. The hotel is less than 10 mins walk from the lake so location is really optimal.

    8PeterPosted on: 6-21-2022

What’s not to like about an original 13th century coaching inn that has been kept is lovely order. There’s also access to a lake side area that is a charm in itself.

Nothing really. There’s an odd discotheque area that wasn’t used while we were there.

    10RobertPosted on: 9-18-2021

Lovely old hotel full of character. Exceptionally friendly staff. We only stayed one night, but they provided so much helpful information and wonderful recommendations. We were also traveling with our dog, and she was made to feel right at home. Oh…and the breakfast was delicious too!

    8Dr.Posted on: 8-20-2021

The hotel was built in the 1500s and therefore it is really authentic - old wooden floors, thick walls. The breakfast and staff there were lovely, the room really clean. Really great is the area by the lakeside where you can relax, do water sports and enjoy the summer sun.

Obviously the hotel is very loud - next to the street and the old wooden floor is naturally a conductor of every single step you take.

Big garden with terrace. Appartment was spacious.

The bathroom in the basement, difficult for babies. The garden was not mown.

    Excellent breakfast

Stop from room to lobby dangerous

very nice and friendly hotel! There is also a lake relaxing place for customer.
