    Pros +

    • The breakfasts were exceptional - there was nothing wanting except for lactose-free milk which my friend required but that was no problem - we just bought some at the supermarket in Ovar which was fine. The staff was wonderful in this regard - we needed to check out before breakfast was served the last day and they put together two breakfast boxes for us which was more than we expected!
    • Perfect location, really quiet surroundings and beautiful landscape.Very friendly staff, making you feeling like homeCommon room and restaurant/bar are great with beautiful viewNice pool (although fresh)
    • The food was amazing, the staff very friendly and helpful and the location was amazing!

    Cons -

    • The times set for breakfast and dinner were late (8am and 8pm). I'm an early riser and an early-to-bed type. but I understand these times are very "Portugese" and so can't complain.
    • Long trip to Aveiro (but the ferry connection makes it shorter). However not much point in visiting Aveiro when the landscape nearby hotel is so great and relaxing
    • The hotel is a little tired and could do with an interior freshen up, but the building is beautiful and the location is amazing

    good

Windy location. Cold. Quite isolated apart from access to bird sanctuary.

The property was located in an area of outstanding beauty. There was sadly nothing else to like whatsoever. The hotel, the room and the staff were a huge disappointment.

The room was musty and smelt of mould. There were spiders webs and a disproportionate amount of flies. This was unforgivable. We did not actually stay at the hotel. We paid for the first night as a charitable gesture but did not stay, we left immediately and booked in at a more suitable / habitable hotel.

Quiet location which had a outlook over the lagoon. Water views from the room and the restaurant was a plus. Food served at breakfast and dinner was fresh and tasty.

Dated facilities from a bygone era ( 1962 to be exact). Musty smelling bathroom. Run down pool area and lack of staff at the breakfast and meal service.

Great staff. Good but not excellent breakfast.

It seems like Pestana's given up on this one. No frills, understaffed, uncared for landscaping, very small rooms, no bidet in bathrooms. Overpriced and limited dinner menu. Isolated location.

Great location and hotel staff. The staff was always ready to help. Delicious lunches and dinners in the restaurant. The rooms are clean. I also think it was a big plus that you could stay with a dog.

Every hotel needs renovation at some point. The pool area at this hotel is in urgent need of updating for the summer! The structures need to be puttied and painted, and there are also no beach umbrellas next to the sun loungers. breakfast is not varied enough.

Nice and tranquil location; comforting view of Aveiro lagoons. Nice, friendly and helpful staff. Swimming pool is enjoyable.

Certain facilities are lacking: lift, electric kettle. Room size can be challenging for families with kids. With exception of swimming pool, no other entertainment facilities for young children. If you are a foreign tourist and looking to move around, then best to rent a car as public transport including taxis can be challenging.

I will start with the good points of this hotel. ! Let it be known this is the first ever critical review i have felt the need to write. This hotel is in a beautiful setting almost over hanging the water . The staff that were there were lovely. The lack of staff was very annoying, reception unattended a good bit of our 2 night stay, no bar staff unless you took one of the poor waiting staff from the dining room. You are given a voucher for welcome drink, but we were unable to find anyone to give us one. The immediate grounds surrounding the premises were kept well but the end of the garden along the sea shore was a disgrace for a hotel if its standard, plastic bottles and rubbish strune everywhere. 30 minutes would clear it all up which would make such a difference and also show that the Pousada group cared about the environment!!!

Good breakfast excellent beds and god view.

Providing coffee/tea facilities in the the room and a safe would have made it much better.

    8MartinPosted on: 8-25-2023

Nice viewNice dinning rooms with sensstionel view

Contitions of the room needs an overhoul

    Location very good.

Bathroom old and shower water not mixing properly.

    6PeterPosted on: 8-21-2023

    Location, right on the water.

Hotel is badly in need of a complete overhaul. Patching up in bathroom was of a quality one expects in Ouagadougou but not in Europe: caulking in different colours, paint on the crumbling door partly covering not just the wood but also the hinges and dripping, as if painted by a dyspractic five year old,

Location is fabulous , right next to the sea and extremely quiet location. The staff were top class with very good menu for dining

The location on the lagoon was superb. Great tranquil and peaceful location Staff very helpful and friendly. Will likely return when back to Portugal

Really enjoyed the breakfast, particularly the opportunity to try the national royal cake (almond). Good, wide choice. We had half board and found the dinners excellent, with a further opportunity to try local/national dishes. Our room was very good, with a private terrace close to the water and with a marvelous view. The complimentary box of dog goodies was a lovely surprise : our dog is still eating her way through the treats, which I am doling out slowly to make them last.!Great location, close to some good beaches and picturesque harbours, and the car ferry to Aviero. We saw nesting storks and flamingos in the wild.

There was no public area where we could sit with our dog. It would have been nice to sit in the bar area in the evening after dinner and enjoy a drink looking out at the view.

Lovely location. We stayed in room 001. Recommended for those travelling with dogs. Staff were exceptionally helpful and very friendly.

The location and the hotel is very beautiful and special, the staff is forthcoming, nice and helpful

some of the rooms require some work; and some of the stuff seems to be in need of training (very inexperienced, bottles for example, placed on the table without being opened or served - wine)food quality (in particular breakfast, coffee, juice etc.) and variety (some of the options not available early on) could be better

Location & relaxing environment. Excellent restaurant and gourmet food. Accommodation first class and great amenities.
