Pros +
- Great breakfast, wonderful, quite and quaint location.
- Very well restored old building, outstanding restaurant even if it is a bit pricey.
- Lovely, helpful staff. Very clean. Great beds and pillows. Plentiful, varied breakfast. Spa a great bonus. Unique location.
Cons -
- The room was a bit small.
- The spa is really not a spa with water temp at the most 30C. No jets. Access should be free for guests
- 1st night, the room above us drunkenly woke us and kept us awake for hours shouting and stomping. Hotel staff tried to help but didn't seem to be able to get them to quieten down. However, staff then moved and upgraded us the next morning, which we appreciated. Then, on our last night, a huge party in the basement/restaurant rocked our "upgraded" room, again waking us up and keeping us awake until the early hours. Security eventually managed to quieten it down, but we were knackered. In exchange, they gave us a late checkout and free spa, which we appreciated, but we would've preferred a restful, undisturbed sleep. It's a very comfortable place, but we maybe had bad luck with noise.

Beautiful hotel in two historic buildings right across the narrow street from each other. Every space was designed with attention to detail. I also loved the outdoor spaces like the pool deck and breakfast terrace.
Location with its rich history.
Staff not as friendly as before as we visited and stayed 10 years ago. Restaurant in hotel has also gone downhill. All the plates we ordered had no flavor.
The employees were very helpful and kind
The pictures of the room on the site of Booking didn't correspond to the room we had booked and this was disappointing. Take into consideration, that there are two buildings, the old (with a flair of Middle Ages) and the new one (with the humidity of the Spa). The first and cheaper room category doesn't have a balcony and it's the opposite of spacious. Ours, on the first floor had just a window that looked at the open air swimming pool and a high wall. Nevertheless, after our complaints, they changed the room and we felt, we had some more air to breath.Furthermore, we didn't like that there was a limited offer in the breakfast buffet (no bread for example). We had to wait half an our for some cold toasted bread and some avocado-tomato slices prepared since some hours. The omelette and the eggs with ham we used to order were at least fresh and tasty. toasted bread and some avocado-tomato slices prepared since some hours.
A very beautiful boutique hotel. Excellent Michelin restaurant, lovely breakfast. The bed is very comfortable.
There are practically no shelves or tables to put things on:))
The size of the rooms and the location.
The elements of the room could be improved: noisy extractor, lighting in bathroom, impractical piece of furniture, better shades for windows, more common areas for leisure.
We stayed in the suite which is highly recommended as it was so comfortable and a beautiful room. The staff were both friendly and professional and we immediately felt welcome. The rooms were very clean too! I would also add that the food in the restaurant was delicious!
I wish there were kettles in the room to make tea but it's a very small thing.
The facility and the convenience
There are used contact lenses on the floor, and the room wasn't completely clean. Being a 4 star hotel, we expected there'd be more amenities like cream, room slippers but there weren't any.
The location, friendly staff, cleanliness. The time are huge and very comfortable
The proximity and frequency of the bell ringing. Also the breakfast didn't have many options and the coffee wasn't very good so we had coffee at a nearby cafe
The room was very nice and clean, nice location.
The staff was not so friendly, especially at breakfast. We had to send our toast back as it was hard and cold, also got rotten tomatoes both morning. Missed the selection of vegetables at breakfast. Fotos are nicer than reality, specifically about outside pool and the spa.
Spa excellent, lovely breakfast, amazing room , and swimming pool .
Old town surrounding property is pretty
Extremely overpriced, not clean, bad amenities and rooms are falling apart. Staff were rude and unhelpful.
Breakfast area and offer was amazing. hotel is super nice and swimming pool is nice. room was totally fine and nicely done, but a double bed is not the same as 2 singles pushed together. (I know you note that you cannot guarantee it but it is not the same experience then). location was great.
Spa looked great and I wanted to use it, but there was a requirement to use a shower cap. I have never experiences this request in any other spa, and I cancelled my appointment because of it, so then you may as well not be a spa hotel. It's not comfy to wear in a place you want to relax. It's also not good for hair - it causes split ends. And I do not think you should make people pay for something so niche.
The deluxe suite was roomy, clean and very comfortable.
General hotel location and surrounding building
The pool area and pool were not particularly clean and there were uncontrolled pigeons constantly flying around the pool, in the pool and faces in and around the pool area. The air conditioning was limited and inadequate compared to the hotels I have stayed in. There is limited parking and a better booking and managing system needs putting in place. There was also no outdoor sunbathing area as it was closed with no explanation as to why.
Breakfast, location (if you want to stay near the old village), and cleanness.
Price a bit high.
A beautiful historic hotel in the old town. The restaurant was fabulous.
Location was great and very quiet
No bar, if they had one it wasn’t advertised
