Free upgrade on arrival

They Gave us a free upgrade, but the lights on the corridor on the way to the Room didn't worked. The coffe machine or the fridge didn't worked either.It didn't even have tea preparation utensils that most hotels already provide. Not even a simple Kleenex.On the interior pool/spa there was no staff available. Wearing a swimming cap was mandatory, but people were seen swimming in the indoor pool without one.The outdoor pool was quite dirty and clearly in need of cleaning. In the two days we were there the motor never worked.We tried to book dinner for the first day, but without success. We tried to order something from the bar and at first they told us that it wouldn't be possible. Then they gave us a 'burger' which was nothing more than a frozen Iglo burger with ham and cheese between two slices of bread. The next day the restaurant wasn't open and the excuse was that the staff had worked very hard the night before. ?

Not enough parking (although The staff did allow to Park in a not usual parking spot.)So no parking problem in my case.

Beautiful hotel and rooms , great breakfast with omelettes made upon request. Restaurant is good for dinner as well. Great staff and facilities including the pool

- spa area badly kept: very smelly, sauna not working, devices in gym with rust, high humidity everywhere on windows; we even felt it was in some areas strongly smelling like mold - restaurant closed, no proper menu - Chef that is publicly presented on homepage apparently left months ago - very few staff and guests - definitely not a 5 star hotel

The manager of the hotel told us that its difficult to find staff to work in the hotel. the interior pool was packed and we felt that the staff was not ready to work under that conditions. The hotel is located in an area that there nothing else to do by feef, so it should invest more in the facilities.

The hotel is really beautiful about 1.5 hours from Porto. The pool is nice, the room has an amazing view. The breakfast was excellent. Greet costumer service. The main attractions are about 20 m. There are hiking trails near by.

The Restaurant was excellent, both for breakfast and dinner

No Coffee facilities in the room. The bar & reception are manned by one person and is sometimes missing.

Easier drive vs other locations in Douro Valley. Close to Lamago.

Bathroom toilet in our unit didn’t prove enough privacy due to a patterned glass door.

The view was nice. That is all.

Nothing about this hotel is 5 star. The worst points were: breakfast - there was a reasonable variety but it looked like it had all been out uncovered for hours (we went at 8.30) some of the food was covered in little flies, no one was checking it, 1 staff member looked out of the kitchen for a second, didn’t greet us just asked for our room number and disappeared did not see another person again. I decided not to eat anything as it all looked very unappealing, I was looking forward to bacon and eggs but they were dried over. Shame because this is not an affordable hotel. There was an obvious lack of staff. The first red flag was when we were handed old tatty brown spa towels, the kind you’d put on the back seat of a car after taking your dog for a muddy walk. The front desk lady was very nice but clearly overworked and doing the job of many. In the room the toilet seat was tatty and worn away with paint chipped off of it. The pillows on the bed were uncomfortable and were flat you got 1 flat pillow each. I’m not sure this hotel would even pass for 4 star really. I think it has 5 stars because it has a pool and spa both were ok but could have been cleaner. There were only about 4 other couples staying so we felt like it was an end of season attitude of not having to make any effort. I wouldn’t go back. We left as soon as we could

There was no kettle in the room. We had to ask for one. The air conditioning was not working.But they gave us an adjacent room. The phone was not working,the locker was not opening. Though these things were not working the staff was polite and did help. The breakfast was good.But restaurant food was not good at all. . Not much of choice.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Dinner menu was really tasty. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, making me feel welcome throughout my stay. I also loved the massage services. A fantastic experience overall!

The view from the balcony is stunning. The indoor pool is pleasant.

The hotel markets itself as family friendly, but that's not really accurate. The place is pleasant, but in our case (traveling with a 18-month-old toddler), we found that it was not really meant for kids. In itself, that is not a problem - but to advertise itself as family-friendly was a bit misleading.

It’s a hotel with a lot of potential. Has amazing facilities! The view from the pool is amazing and the rooms with views are stunning!

Even though the staff are very nice, they need more to make it an excellent service. We felt a low number of staff in the hotel which ended up affecting our stay, such as assistance at the spa, bar and etc. increasing the number of them would for sure make a difference.

- Lack of staff, there were not enough people in the restaurant (breakfast and dinner) - The indoor and outdoor pools were not properly cleaned and maintained

The views are amazing, every single staff member is nice and chatty. I was travelling with my daughter and they allowed me to check in a bit earlier which was very appreciated when travelling with kids.

I didn't feel a lot of value for money, the room was small, the extra bed for my daughter was of poor quality and my biggest problem in this whole booking was that every single thing I requested was ignored. I asked for a cot...got a foldable bed, I made it very clear we were three and we only had towels for two... our phone in the room didn't work... so I had to walk to the reception every time I needed something, I requested towels for the pool.. they stenched of humidity, I asked for an invoice with certain data...they gave it to me without it, they sent me a private message THREE times requesting that I provided the traveler's data in advance "for a smooth check-in" and when I arrived, they didn't have any of my data and I had to re-do everything again...Anyways, loads of inconveniences for what you're paying IMHO.

We liked everything but there are some suggestions for improvement for a 5 stars hotel. More staff. We often had to wait for someone to come, at the pool, at the spa , at the bar etc. The omelette station at the breakfast is super nice but it's not always functional or at least there was no staff there 2 days out of 3. For a 5 stars hotel I would recommend a bit more complementary things in the room, like a body lotion, bathrobes, slippers , and things like this.

Very good breakfast and the stuff was very friendly.

We had some problems with water supply in the bathroom in the morning.
