About
The Hostería Real de Zamora is located in the historic center of the city, next to the Romanesque stone bridge. It is a hotel located in the so-called Palace of the Inquisition, a 16th-century Renaissance building, built on an important Jewish house of which the Mikve or Jewish Bath is preserved. It was built by Don Francisco de Villacís y Ponce de León, first Count of Villaflor and Minister of the Council of the Indies, President of the House of Trade and Councilor of Toledo, Segovia and Madrid. The building has a cloistered courtyard, Gothic sculptures, Baroque and Renaissance paintings. In addition, it has a garden located next to the medieval wall of Zamora. The Hostería Real de Zamora has a cloistered courtyard, garden terrace, bar-cafeteria, reading room and 24-hour reception. The rooms have air conditioning, heating, flat-screen TV and private bathroom with bathtub.

Beautiful property, small, simple clean room.

What an incredible opportunity to stay in this beautiful space steeped in so much history. All of the architectural details, tile work, anxient royal bathing area…so SO wonderful!
Nothing!Excellent service??Beautifully kept and equipped room?I wish I could have stayed for breakfast ( my complaint!!) ?
The hotel is an attractive, converted señorial house near the Puente de Piedra, though a bit far from anything else.
The staff seems to consist of some not particularly well-trained or knowledgeable, but very pleasant, girls. The listing says there is air conditioning--a must during the summer in Zamora--and the first room I was given had none, which seemed to utterly mystify the girl showing it to me. The replacement room did have a/c, but not my choice of bed (I'm rather tall, and a twin bed doesn't really work for me). I decided not to press my luck further, as there did not seem to be a lot of single rooms at the property.
The hostería real is a historic building with some parts that date from the middle ages, and it's decorated with religious art and quaint furniture, enhancing the historical feel with modern comforts, especially air conditioning and full en suite bathrooms! I also love that it's so close to the river and the newly reconstructed stone bridge, perfect for an early morning walk and bird watching. I'd go for a run in the cool morning then have breakfast after showering, taking advantage of their buffet and coffee bar.
It's an older building so noise can travel plus the upper floors are accessed by stairs. There is one room on the ground floor where a friend with limited mobility stayed, and she said it was very pleasant.
The location and the nice staff. They listen to the clients requirements.
Comfort, a charming place, personnel very nice and helpful, 24-hour service.
WiFi doesn't work in the rooms, internet service in the rooms is sporadic.
The hotel is in a beautiful town
Well if you like to sleep in a musty old church’s with depressing very poor copies of El Greco’s martyer’s and crucifixions this might suit you.
Easy parking next to the building. Beautiful riverside location. Historic property. Well priced. Helpful desk staff. Beautiful courtyard and interesting common areas.
Spartan accommodations. Location felt remote from human activity, but that is because the old town shuts down early. Needed to drive across the river to find a meal after 9 pm; might be a challenging location if reliant on mass transit.
Fantastic staff and location. loved the inner courtyard and hotel bar.
rooms are small, but sufficient.
I loved the historical building! And one of the staff gave me a quick tour of the original artwork displayed. Just lovely!
The communal areas are historic and beautiful blue and white old tiles. Right on the edge of the old city with an easy walk to the center and 27 churches!
Our room was tiny. We could hear everything from the room next door. The real objection was the also tiny old bathroom that had very bad smells coming through the drains. Someone was smoking in the courtyard which woke us this morning. I wondered what the other rooms were like...
Very pleasant historic building close to centre and river Duero. Parking close by. Staff very helpful.
The location near the casco antiguo and parking nearby. The hotel is full of history. The staff are extremely pleasant and helpful.
Hotel is within easy walking distance to town, the river is just across the road.
The headboards are fixed to the walls, unfortunately our neighbours fixings must have failed. As during the night when they rolled over, it would bang against the wall! it disturbed our sleep.
This historic building has lots of beautiful art- museum quality-and has been updated but not overly so that the charm is maintained. I loved the location near the river. Excellent breakfast and kind staff. It’s an excellent value for any who prefers character in their lodging. If I ever return to Zamora, I would stay here again!
All was perfect!
Beautiful historic building, with rooms arranged around a tranquil patio. Close to cathedral and castle, with views over the Douro and stone bridge. Room was simple, stylish and comfortable.
Fantastic atmosphere of an old palace from the 16th century. Founded as the seat of the Inquisition in Zamora.History breathes from every pore. We had a room with a view of one of the most beautiful rivers in Spain, the Duero. The room was clean.
Unfortunately, the bathroom was not up to standard.
