Pros +
- The hotel is beautiful, welcoming and full of character, with an atmosphere that feels both unique and relaxing. The spa is truly exceptional, one of the best we have ever visited. Each sauna is large and beautifully designed with different temperatures, artistic details, mosaics and even a salt room. There are multiple pools including a cold plunge, indoor and outdoor options, plus relaxing lounges. The whole spa experience is on a different level. The hotel’s design is impressive, with charming medieval corridors, stunning Christmas decorations and a fascinating wine cellar that feels like a living museum. The staff were kind, friendly and attentive. Breakfast was good with excellent fresh orange juice and amazing croissants. Dinner was tasty and nicely presented. The nature around the hotel is perfect for walks and ideal for guests with dogs. Overall, this is a special hotel with an extraordinary spa, beautiful atmosphere and thoughtful details. We enjoyed our stay and would happily return.
- Brand new spa area and excellent breakfast and dinner options
- the spa pool etc. is top notch. and the rooms are comfortable.
Cons -
- Some areas of the rooms feel a bit older compared to the rest of the hotel’s beautiful design. Breakfast was nice but the variety could be wider, and a few small details at dinner could be improved. With a few updates, the experience would be perfect.
- One big problem was everyone reserving all of the loungers in the SPA area, even in the designated relax area. There are way more loungers than necessary but since most of them are blocked with towels while they are not actively used it’s hard to find a spot to lay down after your Sauna session. This should be not allowed at least in the relax area.
- We've been coming to the same Hotel for about 18 years, and we've always thought it was lovely. However, it was recently purchased by the Western hotel group, which isn't a bad thing, except that it's become a bit impersonal. We used to be able to go there and see the same person at the front desk. Every time we could then make a reservation with that person or send them an email, for instance, requesting the same room, etc. They used to serve breakfast until 11; now, breakfast is only served until 10 am, which is not standard for a weekend. We used to be able to get a free Leche for at least an hour, especially given our long-standing relationship with the Hotel. Now, they only offer it at a $89 checkout fee. And then, when they gave me half an hour, I was made to feel like this was such a great honor, and there is a price. It has doubled, and in some cases, tripled, since we started coming there. We understand that prices are increasing due to some renovations, but at the same time, the upgrades are not yet complete, which causes some inconvenience to the customer.

Nice location. Nice hotel.
Not nice arrival. First ask deposit of 250 Eur for potential minubar usage allthough later I noticed the minibar was empty.
Lovely location, great views of the valley, liked the church bells. Amazing spa and restaurant, be sure to visit on the first Thursday of the month for the awesome “white night” dinner. Elegant and comfy bar and awesome staff who speak a multitude of languages. Alsace Superior room even had a fireplace! Wonderful breakfast. Couples massage was the icing on the cake of a great stay.
The worst experience I had. I would have rated them 0 but it is not possible.
Poor staff support. The kitchen closing at 20::30, no room service. Doubtfull cleaning - towels looking like being used. The waiter attitude was far from welcoming and the poor selection of food as well as the poor quality is making me saying... Avoid it! Probably it should be classified as a 2 star hotel regardless the spa and pool...
Room, airco in room, location
Breakfast was not ok for a 25€/day/person charge
Heavy construction work in front of rooms in the garden. Use of Pool area is restricted. This ruined our holiday as those significant construction works are not mentioned at all on booking.com
I’m sure once the swimming pool renovation is complete it would be beautiful
Complete building site Booking com did not tell us My bad I should of checked their own website
I liked the location, the place , food , all in all everything.
I didnt like the bathroom. Too many corners.
Beautiful place lovely comfy roomStaff very friendly.
The restaurant is extortionate. The menu very limited. Obviously have their French regulars. Plenty of space in the restaurant and we were place out of the way from the main tables. The waiter was a nice guy but the food was ok but very much overpriced really let our stay down. No hot water once one person had a bath. No milk in the room ☹️
lovely pool / sunbathing area
very dated roomlimited menu if staying for more than 2 nights
Great location. Very quiet. Good restaurant and great facilities.
Nothing to report
Clean, rustic, professional.Quiet, fresh air, super people. Highly recommended.
The salt air room seats were of stone. Too hard on bad backs and old people.
Food, drinks, facilities, staff super friendly. Clean and beautiful location! It is a old hotel with a lot of charme.
I can not name one thing.
Everything was clean, the food was delicious, there were more than enough loungers for everyone, breakfast went well past the 10am cut off, my wife and I arrived at 9.15 and stayed till 10.40am one morning and there was no hint of an issue.
The food, although absolutely DELICIOUS, was both expensive and very small portions. My wife and I would have a three course meal and leave with space for quite a bit more. Again, the food is really good. I just wished there was either more of it, or it didn't cost quite so much. Even small things like water at €7 each and a small glass of beer at €8 is a bit steep.
Very nice and clean pool and spa area. Beautiful location. A great place to relax.Great, spacious family room with a large balcony and great views of the forest and pool area. Very comfortable beds.
Only one restaurant on site with a small meny which is a thing to consider, when you are in a somewhat secluded location. First courses and desserts were very good, but the main courses were disappointing (we had dinner in the restaurant twice).Hardly anyone (except for the front desk staff) spoke English.
Really nice gem of a property tucked away in the forest. Just out the door you can hike to the Grand Ballon, and explore the Grand Ballon, Le Hohnneck, le Petit Ballon on bike. The restaurant was really yummy after all that hiking and biking. Great selection, local favorites and wine pairings, and super service.
Location, iconic, beatiful, area. Staff made us feel at,home, thank u vanessa. The pool beatiful.
Only hope to be in the alsace region and to the same hotel Thanks!
The location is amazing and the property is beautiful . It's nice to have the Forest nearby. The restaurant has live music in the evenings
There is a huge lack of attention to details, which really make the difference. The fixings in the toilet were loose and coming off (the shower head fell off and almost hit my friend in the head mid shower) There is a small fridge In the room that was turned off and not working, there is a coffee machine but only with decaf coffee pods, the spa offers treatments for children, yet there are no child sized robes or slippers, this is a spa hotel, yet you can't book treatments in reception and the therapists are also the ones handling the booking so if they are all busy you can't book anything. The beds by the pool have the straps torn, even some of the robes have the straps that hold the belt torn off. The hair dryer in the toilet didn't heat up, and half of the staff seemed a bit rude with us not speaking french. Like, the property is so amazing, yet the lack of attention to detail left us a bit disappointed
