Breakfast could have include choice of hot dishes to order, like most nice hotels do usually. No heat in bathroom; turned off by hotel?

Invandro was very personable and helpful. He fortunately spoke English which was super helpful for a non Portuguese speaking person such as myself. The breakfast was very good and all the breakfast staff was extremely friendly and helpful. It was a beautiful hotel site with lovely views of the castle.

It was all very nice.

We combined our stay at the pousada S. Bartolomeu with a remarkable dining experience at Chef Óscar Geadas’s exceptional restaurant, which made the trip even more memorable.

Good pool and bar area, excellent views from the room.

Restaurant was very expensive, but a good local compromise was provided.

The staff, particularly Ivantro, Antonio, Natalia and Evengiline, was tremendously helpful

The view

A beautiful and tranquil setting. The hotel sits atop a hill, offering perfect views of the castle and parts of the town below. All rooms appear to face the view and feature private terraces. The pool and outdoor seating areas are also very well designed and inviting.After a long drive, this was the perfect place for us to recharge. We were warmly welcomed by Ivandro and quickly settled in.The on-site G Pousada restaurant, a Michelin-starred gem, exceeded our expectations—dinner was absolutely flawless.

The views of the castelo were incredible and the town was easily accessible by foot. The room was comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed the breakfast and the local cheeses and jams. Because there is no medium cost restaurant on site we were given names of two restaurants owned by the Pousada.

The restaurant was a Michelin restaurant so out of our price range.The bedroom seemed a little dated but was still comfortable and spacious.

Great location 20 minute walk into town. Staff were very helpful and the room was comfortable, with a lovely view. Breakfast was incredible! Parking was free and close to the door.

Hallways were sparse and the property could use an update.

Dated room decoration, particularly the bathroom. Broken handle of the shower tap. Breakfast with high diversity, but the average quality of options quite low, out of low-cost supermarket options, a sham in a region with such good food and ingredient variety. Awkward plastic spherical domes on top of every option. Labels totally wrong every day (e.g. "scrambled eggs" sign in front of black beans).

Didn’t have a coffee maker or water boiler

Outstanding staff, superb location. Made us some tosta mista as on winter Mondays the restaurant is closed (they made sure we were aware of that prior to booking), as we were tired and we asked if we could have something to eat on site.

Nothing really, great value for money.

Staff are super nice and friendly, and made sure our stay was great. The room is very clean and spacious, with a beautiful view of the castle. The breakfast was delicious and varied.

We found it a little bit overpriced for the value offered in similar hotels. The walk to the city is on a hill and can be tricky coming back to the hotel.

The property is in a perfect location.extremely clean and very warm and cosyIn cold nights with a great fireplace that warms the heart.

When we booked, I thought I had selected 121 and it ended up a 145. Breakfast was extraordinary.

The Pousada de Bragança is a comfortable hotel with beautiful views from the balconies. The reception and kitchen staff were friendly and helpful.

Lovely just out of the town, a short walk or car drive if you prefer , to the old town and then on to the citadel

I didn't dislike anything but two points to note:It is a bit of a walk downhill (ahem, it's uphill coming back) and over the river via parks and footbridges to get to the historic centre.The hotel is an independent hotel marketed through but not managed by Pestana Pousadas, so for example you will not accrue Pestana Guest club points here.
