Hotel Goizalde

The staff and location were great as well the modern bathroom. There was a safe place for our bicycles and sitting outside looking at the ocean is wonderful.

The beds were uncomfortable and coat hangers were not provided.

Simple but clean hotel with all necessary amenities. Some were a bit broken tho. Initially I was given a room that can't be locked from inside. Despite assuring me there's never been any problems, I felt more comfortable once the room was changed for the one with door locking option. The hair drier was a bit broken, yet still functioning. There was no soap, only tiny bottles of shower gel. It seemed to be impossible to turn down the heating, but it wasn't a big problem. However, the bed was comfortable and the room clean. Overall I was happy to stay here. The hotel unfortunately didn't have a restaurant, only bar and snacks. The proximity to the beach was very convenient! :)Overall I would recommend this place if you are not too picky about details.

The location is very good, as it's just 3 mins away from the best in my opinion beach in Bilbao. We had staff cleaning our rooms every day, and room size was fairly big

Loved the sea views and location close to the beach. Excellent shower & powerful hairdryer. Comfy beds & good, clean linen. The food, coffee and bar were great, lovely relaxed atmosphere. Best of all - wonderful staff.

I'm going back - there's nothing I'd change.

Great staff, best coffee I’ve had so far not an auto machine, view, comfortable bed close to beach.

The smell of septic in the morning , no kettle, fridge or fan or aircon too stuffy at night , we had to shut the windows due to mosquitoes.

Breakfast was very small with little variety but the restaurant down the road was excellent for dinner.

Very good, excellent location for the beach and surfing, good bar and garden, overlooking the bay, friendly staff.

The atmosphere of the place, so close to the ocean. And it's a good position to travel all around. The room is very cleaned and well organised, there is a big shower and a walk in closet to save space in the room. I slept well every night (4) even if is it's close to the parking. The breakfast is basic (there is not buffet). The staff is very nice and kind. Good price. Bed comfortable.

The room of breakfast or for a break, it's a little bit cold, because of doors opened even if was not so hot. There is no conditioner air in the room.

The location was fantastic & made the stay. Spectacular walks, amazing beach (apart from the graffiti, why??) on the door stop. Glad the room had a fridge so we could buy our own provisions . Room was made up very well every day, so a clean stay. Their public cafe was useful for a coffee or beer (being on site & limited choice aside). The Reasturant ‘Solito’ ( the restaurant opposite) was a fantastic place to sit & food is terrific (recommended) and made our evenings here.

Rather tired & dated building/room, parking for only 4 or 5 cars, we felt the staff were rude, didn’t feel the room was secure as side door to car park open 24x7, so carried our passport etc with us), shower dripped all night but they didn’t understand us to fix it, noisy in morning from folk outside and from their public cafe, no breakfast included and we personally didn’t care for what they served in their onsite public cafe on rickety old tables & chairs. FYI - We lost our credit card (their cafe was the last place we used it) and were most unhelpful or unconcerned, so clearly we cancelled it, which was rather upsetting.

The location is perfect (so close to the beach!) and the room was nice, especially the bathroom. Everything was very clean and the check in/out process was smooth. The staff was really friendly and helped with my GF/DF needs at breakfast in the morning.

Felt unwelcome and unable to ask questions or raise concerns . Not the place for a woman travelling alone. Manager (male) dismissive and irritated by simple requests.

Amazing location 200 m from main surfer's beach, very friendly staff, very good Spanish breakfast!Very comfortable simple room, nothing was missing to enjoy the stay.I will be back for sure.

Very good stay given this is 2 star hotel. They have excellent snacks at the bar and even though the staff doesn't speak much English, they were nice and mostly friendly. The location is perfect of you want to hit the beach. Bus stop is very close. Despite some of the reviews here, there was only little noise in the night.

Some of the equipment is old but it didn't disturb me. The bed was a bit squeeky but nothing major.

The location near the beach is perfect. It was lovely sitting on the terrace while having breakfast with a great view.

The rooms are a bit basic but fine.

Proximity to the sea was very good if a bit hilly for older people.

There was no previous indication that the kitchen wasn't open on a Sunday. The parking was very hit and miss as there wasn't much room, and the surface was very uneven in places and a nightmare for a motorcyclist! Also, one badly parked vehicle made it one way in and out and reversing was hazardous.

We enjoyed our stay: perfect view from the restaurants terrace & garden during breakfast! Clean rooms, comfy bed, big bathroom.

Some hangers in the bathroom for towels & clothes would have been nice (the 2 inside the shower were useless while showering). A warm heating in the evening would also be recommended during this cold season -> too bad the heating wasn't turned on after our request first night.

The location is amazing! Just a few minutes away from the beautiful Sopelana beach, a nice cafe, and all the surf schools. The staff also let me check out a bit late and proposed to keep my baggage if I wanted to take a walk or something.

The wifi was really slow in the rooms (but good in the lobby). And also the room was a bit cold in the evenings.

Lovely small place, convenient for beach walks. The hosts are exceptional, the rooms very comfortable. Can't wait to go back

Dinner options

The location is perfect for a weekend break on the beach. 2min walk from a beautiful surf spot and less than 30min drive away from Bilbao airport. The staff was very nice. There's free onsite parking. The room was clean and comfortable.

It would have been perfect with tea/coffee amenities in the room.
