Motel Schönefeld

We stayed for one night to rest from driving on a longer trip. Everything was fine, as expected. There were even ear plugs (which we didn't have to use, because there was no noise) and single use slippers in the room ?It is a good value for the money. The bed was comfortable, everything was clean. The room and the furniture look used, but that didn't bother us considering the price and purpose of our stay.

Walking distance to my cousin, nice bakery. Very comfortable bed, good shower. Quiet enough to open window at night in spite of being on a Main Street. Nice towels and plenty of hangers in closet.

Very basic room but adequate for our needs since we simply needed a place to sleep. Room has faint odor of cigarettes. Would like access to a hot water kettle.

Nightmare

My experience with Motel Schönefeld was a nightmare, my worst hotel experience ever. To make a long story short: I had a booking (paid in advance) for 3 days. The night I arrived, there was a strong chemical smell in the bathroom (chlorine?). I opened the windows, but after a while, my throat and nose started itching really badly from the chemical smell. I had to leave the hotel in the middle of the night - of course I tried to contact them before to get another room, but they don't have 24h reception, so at that time nobody answered. My only option was to leave. I paid a lot of money for a room in another hotel. I called Motel Schönefeld the next morning to ask for a cancellation of my booking and a refund of the money paid - but they basically told me I was lying and there was nothing wrong with the room! Imagine experiencing health issues because of cleaning chemicals in the room - and the hotel tells you you're fantasizing! After such a horrible experience - healthwise but also with the rude staff - there was no way i could go back there. I had to contact the booking.com hotline. I hope I'll get my money back. Just to clarify: i checked out the first night before sleeping there - no refund paid.

The room was clean, check in went smoothly, the staff was polite and kind.

The location is not ideal, on map it looks close to the airport and well connected with Berlin, but this is not the case. Entrance doesn’t look like to the motel and needs some cleaning. There was a cleaning service pulling the trolley in the morning along the corridor and there is pretty noisy road nearby. And we couldn’t leave the luggage anywhere there, our flight back was in the evening, and had to take them with us as apparently over a weekend nobody is there to provide this service.

Very good price for being a quick ride to Berlin.

Can hear every sound from the hallway and the queen bed was just two twins pushed together.

Room and bathroom were very clean and good, though the curtains did not cover the window quite enough. Wifi was good, though no password provided in the room. Had to go call from the lobby to find out.

It's up a circular stair with no elevator and no staff to help with luggage. It was a nightmare maoevering 3 heavy suitcases up and down the stairs.

The room that I stayed was big enough for 1 person. It also clean. Bathroom is clean, the shower is working properly.

I like the room but if I visit on summer it will be torture cuz noe AC.

There is a bakery right next door to motel building. Lowest price compared to other hotels around this area. Only mens showergel in the shower.

This location is very strange, We arrived late around 11pm so it was pretty dark and reception was closed. They left key for us as we notified them of late arrival earlier on, but we could not find the motel entrance or reception, it is poorly signed. It is more of an apartment block and does not look like hotel so it was confusing. Also we did not feel safe as in the base of this building there was I assume apartments and some had completely broken windows and one apartment had opened windows and 2 drunk polish man was listening to their music very loud. We got charged extra for having our little dogs, even though they are hypoallergenic breed.

The hotel has no reception but a telephone contact who was nearby. The room was very clean and very comfortable. The room is a bit sterile looking but is average size. The bakery cafe downstairs is handy and you can get a parking waiver for the carpark when the reception arrives with the key. Nice room for the money.

Everything was fine. It is basic minimal service room.

it was clean, once inside the main entrance the lobby was fabulous.

the entrance to the stairway had been smashed but once up the stairs the entrance to the motel was fabulous. the rooms needed aircon - the fans were weak. the iron exploded yellow water into mine and my colleagues clothes.

Everything was clean and working, the employees seem friendly

We got assigned a 1 person room, when we booked a 2 person one. Couldn't contact any employees at the time to fix the problem, so one of us had to sleep on the floor

Nice,clean and quiet place to stay, not too far from the city of Berlin.

The room and bathroom were clean. Mattresses are fine. Easy access to the hotel 24 hours. The bakery next door is excellent! And the asian restaurant next door is super good too. A large food store is walking distance, approx 15 min. It's not expensive, value for money.. but depends on your standards and expectations.

The description of the room sounded like it has a double bed in it, so we assumed that it was a double size mattress! In fact it is 2 single mattresses and not secured together, so if you are traveling with the partner be aware of it, it is extremely annoying as beds move, do sort it out! No fridge in the room, no kettle in the room or cups to make hot drinks. In terms of public transport, you need to plan your trips well if you are going to Berlin, but you get what you pay for.. pay twice as much and you will be in a trendy area in Berlin.

The location is close to the airport, which made my travel easier. The heating in the room was excellent. The cleaning was perfect and the bed linen was good. The internet speed is high enough. The room is big enough. The toilet is clean and the shower is great.

A larger bed (120 cm) and two pillows in the bed would increase sleeping comfort.

Pleasant and quite, clean room.

The Motel was incredibly hard to find at night. The name should be lightened at night, our taxi driver couldn't find it for 10 min.

The room and facilities were fine. Staff was available upon request.

We were supposed to get the room key from a locker. The code for the locker was only sent after repeated requests with the additional comment "not to worry". Upon arrival the key wasn't in the locker. After 30 minutes waiting time someone showed up to give us our key. That wasn't the greatest experience after travelling for about 20 hours. On top of that, the TV went off at 2a.m. and we had trouble falling back asleep coming from a different time zone.
