Pros +
- Nearby eating options and price was good
- Great value for the price. Spacious room. Good large bed. There is a restaurant/bar right around the corner with a menu del dia, and if you’re on the Camino, there is a Repsol station with a 24 hour cafeteria where you can get a nice breakfast, including fresh squeezed orange juice. It is located very close to the Camino de Invierno, which joins the Sanabres at A Laxe. Recommended.
- Disappointing and frustrating
Cons -
- The shower curtain was too short and water kept getting on bathroom floor
- The check in process wasn’t clarified in advance, no email was sent about how to access the hotel if staff weren’t on duty. So, if you are staying there, send a message asking for that information.
- The rooms are nothing like the photos. Windows didn’t open to the outside. Complete bait and switch- did NOT get what I paid for.

This hotel was spotless and well presented. The receptionist was fantastic and so helpful especially when one of my travel colleagues had actually booked the wrong date! She gave us a fabulous welcome .the difference that makes a difference. The rooms were spacious and well apportioned and met our needs completely. Great stay if you are walking the Camino.
Nothing to dislike.
The desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Marta is a gem. The breakfast area is clean and welcoming, with good a nice continental breakfast selection. The location was pretty convenient, just on the edge of town, close to the 24 hour gas station/convenience store. The attached restaurant, Villanueva was very convenient, and accomodating, with great food, and service.
Black mold! in our room # 219. We had the room booked for 10 days. I developed a cough our second day staying, by the sixth day of our stay, my husband developed a cough that was so bad he couldn't breathe. We did not spend much time in our room other than sleeping, as we were there visiting family. I finally noticed on our sixth day of our stay the black mold in the ceiling. It looked like a shadow at first, because of the recessed edges of the ceiling, but it was the length of the bathroom door, and heavily concentrated. It was midnight when I noticed it, so we did not inform the staff at that time. We slept wearing our masks, that we always wear when traveling. The first thing in the morning, I began packing up the room, while my husband informed the front desk of the situation. They were very surprised and apologetic, and immediately assigned another room. My husband's reaction to the mold severely hampered the remainder of our trip, as he did not have the energy to do all the things his family were planning for us. My cough receded, but my husband's continued, and we went to urgent care when we got back to the States, where he was treated for a bronchial infection, with a steroid shot, antibiotics, and inhaler.I will also note the bathroom in room 219 was one of those very small chamber-type stall showers, where you can't move, and have to squat to reach soap or shampoo, because there are no shelves in the stall. If you are over 200 lbs, you will have a very hard time taking a shower. When we were moved into room # 103, the shower was in a full-size bathtub, so I was relieved to be able to move, but the shower door does not seal off the water, so in spite of positioning the shower head to point in the complete opposite direction, we had water flowing out to the floor. At that point, we only had a few days left of our stay, and I did not want to pack everything up again and move to another room, so we dealt with it.
Not much other than it was clean
It was difficult checking in waited outside the door for a while. Rang the door bell and recording wasn’t that lines were busy and leave a message. Waited… sent a message via what’s app to no avail. Waited. Rang doorbell again and repeated myself. Was told they open door. Pushed door and didn’t open. Waited…. No one followed up to see if I went in. Waited… rang door bell again and was told they’d open door. They rang and pushed door. Didn’t open. Was told I had to push and did it was a heavy door. At least this person followed up to see me through. Room was dark and had poorLighting. It had one relatively small window. RoomWas hot and opening curtain would have made it hotter. There was creaking of wood all the time. Did not have a restful night.
the tub was really nice and there was plenty of hot water
after 3 pm there is no person to let you in, no information, then you use a tv screen with a remote attendant who can’t hear you very well to manually take all your details and check you in which was tedious. they had a 24 hour phone help desk but the codes to the door and the keys didn’t always work and not everyone has a working cell to call the phone line for help. that part made it all feel unwelcoming. no sign about when the breakfast would be offered. they need to improve their communication and check in process! the attached (but not part of hotel) restaurant Villanueva was very good though
A little bit away from the centre. 20 minutes walk.Nice and warm room ? Key code entry/exit.
Nothing to complain about ✅
a nice clean room with a good bed, a good shower without curtains ? and a very friendly staff. the additional breakfast was just great and worth the €6.50 my dinner just around the corner was delicious
The room was affordable and comfortable and clean.
The check-in process is less to be desired, if you arrive. After checking closes, you have to do it through a automated system which is not so automated and very cumbersome. I recommend that if they're going to have reservation agents on the phone in case something goes wrong, they should just use that instead of using the computer technology, which maybe isn't their fault, but the website is terrible. Me to look at the bus
The staff and the location
The room was nothing like in the pictures, it was an old room with cigarette burns on the furniture and carpet. I was told that room was the only option because the car park gate would not close, so my bicycle would not be secure so I had to put my bike in my room, which meant a ground floor room and the nice ones in the pictures were on the top floor. This whole story fell apart when the bike would not fit, so they put it in a storage room nearby. Also, the key card only worked when it wanted too, the people in the next room had the same key card problem
Very friendly receptionist who spoke excellent English and was very helpful to us
The room.was very spacious with excellent ventillation. The family room is gabled on one side but it is perfectly. The beds were firm and pillows were comfy...a plus for weary travelers.
There is not much to see or do in Lalín. We were there for Galicia Clarinet Festival. It’s very busy during this time and accommodation is difficult to get so book well in advance. The location is about a 30 minute walk from the centre but a shopping centre is about a 15 minute walk.
The WiFi in the hotel was very poor.
Clean, comfortable bed
Very impersonal check-in - done via video camera by an unhappy person - not at all welcoming - not even a smile!
Location was fine. David at reception was extremely pleasant & helpful.
No laundry facilities. Not good for a pilgrimwalking to Santiago.
Nice room, clean and comfortable.
Located on far side of town, not much around it.
Marta, the receptionist was excellent, very friendly and helpful.Beds are very comfortable and there was a good choice at breakfast. On the Camino invierno so ideal for us.
Comfortable good breakfast, friendly staff, good value
Better wardrobe space, no tall wardrobes to hang dresses, also no comfortable armchair available.
There's nothing in particular that would encourage us to stay there again.
Hotel was more like a 'rooming house'. No full-time staff and only one person at the desk during daytime. No phones in the room, no offer of any laundry services, breakfast was meager at best. Housekeeping only worked in the morning.
