Pension-Albergue Don Alvaro

The owners were very nice and funny.

Very clean, quiet, and centrally located.

Rooms were very clean, accommodated U.S. on the first floor! And greeted us personally even when we arrived at 10:00pm! Very gracious host!!

I stayed at a single pension room - it was super clean and all the facilities in good order. Also - fantastic view from the terrace. Definitelyu value for money.

Comfortable, clean and in a great location at the top of town to make an easy early morning escape before the crowds.

Great location 2 minutes away from Camino & many restaurants nearby. Staff was very helpful, especially when my husband unexpectedly fell ill. Loved the garden area.

Loved our room. It was large and had great windows with wonderful light.

Great location up front the bus station. It’s a bit of a hill, but you have to climb it regardless. It is easy to find. Don welcomed us, gave us a tour and let us know the locations of the church, cafes (just around the corner) and grocery store which was very helpful. The place was very clean. The online pictures are accurate. It was very clean.

Very good place to stay if on the Camino. Along the Camino, quiet, near to shops..cafés very near.

I didn’t stay at Don Alvaro. They were overbooked for that night so they go me a room at the Hotel Novoa about a block away. Room was very nice and quiet.

Location — perfectly placed on Camino next to restaurants, etc.

No wifi in sleeping room, only in common area.

Had some t Chanel’s in English as well as Spanish.

There was no person on site except for check in. Had to go to a separate building from the albergue to stay at the pension. To transfer my bag the next morning I had to walk with it in the pouring rain in the dark with no lighting through their back garden into the albergue. This was because I was required to have it in the albergue building by 8 a.m. Should have been able to leave my bag in the lobby of the pension for pick up.

The location was on the Camino and steps from a large restaurant, which was open all day. The rooms were fresh and clean.

Pretty good facilities for a bunk in an albergue. Manager very helpful.

Metal staircase maybe dangerous.
