- Simple Hotel, friendly helpful staff
- Staff were great, restaurant great, relaxed atmosphere around the pool and for the stay generally
Cons -
- Grumpy guy at checking.
- The water pressure seemed unstable.
- There was a misunderstanding about breakfast being included in the price... I think it actually comes down to bookings.com not being clear on the web-site?So that was a disappointment?... But the breakfast buffet was outstanding and priced at 9 euro... So it luckily didn't break the bank...

Beautiful pool. Friendly staff. Great coffee/food/ tasty breakfast
The location of the hotel is perfect. It is fairly close to the old town and yet just sufficiently distanced from the two imposing landmarks on the horizon, namely the Cathedral and the fortress, that allows both landmarks to be seen from the main street next to which the hotel is. It is indeed a magnificent sight that looks almost unreal. We consulted the receptionist about the exact location at which a photo we saw online was taken that shows both landmarks and the entirety of all whitewashed houses beneath them in Olvera. The receptionist did not know the answer so she led us to a few older patrons and staff at the hotel bar where a rigorous discussion about the location where the photo was taken ensued in Spanish upon seeing the photo. Some ten minutes later, they concluded that it was taken from a small pedestrian bridge and the receptionist marked the rough location on the map for us. By the way, we actually walked to the bridge but as it turned out the view from the bridge did not match the photo. I then walked some 500m further along the main road but still couldn’t find the view so I turned back. Anyway, the hotel has excellent taste and there is a lot of wood in the decor which gives it a quaint vibe. The lobby, the lounge, the restaurant and the bar all have lots of windows which makes it airy and bright with lots of natural light. The hotel room was wonderful and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was also abundant and very high quality and is worth every dollar. There was a pool in the yard where we sat and it was a great place to relax and have a coffee. The value for money of the accommodation is incredible and I hope to return someday. I think the hotel deserves more than a 10/10 and I would give it an 11/10. Our time in Olvera is simply one of the most amazing experiences we’ve ever had and the hotel definitely helped.
There was absolutely nothing we did not like.
It was close to all we wanted to see Olvera, free parking and just a sweet little hotel. It was a bit chilly when we were there so we did not use the pool.
Staff were very friendly on the whole and didn’t mind our terrible attempts at Spanish!
We had an interconnecting door and we could hear evertything in the next room. We were also very aware that they could near us so had the tv very low… almost couldn’t hear it ! Parking was also tricky.
Bed was very comfortable.
Rooms with castle view require you to lean out over the balcony to see. Otherwise you look into a wall. Breakfast was nothing like the photos. Day old bread, pre packaged spreads and over ripe fruits.Shower was warm with lots of pressure but the holder for the shower head was not secure. Water sprayed everywhere unless you got the pressure just right to balance it so it sprayed down and not out. Could see we were not the only ones who struggled with this judging by the bathroom door falling apart due to water damage.
Great stop after cycling via verde. Very friendly hotel, excellent quality food in restaurant. Lovely room and a bath! We were surprised by the quality of this 2 star hotel.
Really comfy bed and pillows and lots of room to spread out. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Great breakfast.I think they need a few more staff to help out in the restaurant when the hotel is booked with large groups.
Room, restaurant and staff were all excellent! Food was delish!
Staff very friendly, very clean, great food
Parking could be a challenge
Very good value with nice helpful and friendly staff. Perfect for our one night stay passing through.
Not all that easy to find.
A cosy clean hotel close to lots of bars and restaurants. The room had a nice balcony too. We ate in the restaurant. The food was local and substantial. Locals used the bar which was nice . Parking ok to find around hotel .
What a fantastic find. Excellent value, kind and helpful staff and well located. There’s also a superb restaurant and coffee shop attached. I would highly recommend it if staying in the area.
Staff very good. Welcoming atmosphere. Bustling and lively bar.
There is restaurant available in hotel, and has vegan options which was nice surprise, but vegan burger was so dry, barely edible unfortunately. (use some kind of sauce in it, if anyone from the hotel is reading). Parking was free. We had nice view from our hotel room.
Receptionist that was there (or should I say not there, we had to wait for 10-15 min while I searched for her in the hotel) couldn't say a word in english. We couldn't comunicate. I booked a room with balcony, got one without, I didn't even bother to go down as I don't even know how would I explain, because we tried at check in with Google translate and that didn't work also. Bathtub was dirty and old, and little bit gross. Also it was cold in the room, we couldn't adjust the temperature, so we had to take another blankets from the closet.
Good location and very clean. Restaurant had a good range and value for money.
Due to rain I spent a day hanging out here. It felt like home in no time. Great bakery and restaurants too nearby.
Maybe need a kettle. But then I’m English!
Has a nice balcony with a beautiful view. The room is spacious and clean. Weather was nice is November
The bathtub was in exceptionally bad condition. We stayed for one night so didn’t use it. I would have thought twice to stay more because of that. Although the rest was very well maintained and cleaned.
