- Staff. Location: So peaceful. Great for daily hikes. Superb breakfast with a window on Alsace from the terrace. And, fine dining.
- It is in a unique and peaceful location at the top of a mountain. It is part of a monastery and surrounded by hiking trails and beautiful hills. The rooms are small but with good views and quiet.
- The spirituality of the place associated with a unique experience and atmosphere. The facilities were outstanding and the view was truly stunning. Nothing beats the view. The folks working there were wonderful and very helpful.
Cons -
- Breakfast was very basic and a bit crowded- think church social. Wifi was weak but you probably don't stay at a monastery to stream movies. A bit isolated for trips to surrounding villages.
- Be aware: limited Wi-Fi in many parts of the facility.
- We found to rooms to be a little on the basic side. Although everything was clean and comfortable.

Beautiful area, unique historical building, very nice staff, good European (cold) breakfast. Rooms were simple but sufficient, comfortable and clean.
Be aware: limited Wi-Fi in many parts of the facility.
Superb location wonderful views over the Vosges and Rhine valley. Very popular with hikers and walkers. It is a pilgrimage site for St Odile.
Majestic location at the top of a mountain in a monastery. Couldn’t ask for more beautiful surroundings. The staff was super nice and accommodating. Everything very clean and well kept.

A great setting
Small room with poor pillows and no tv
The scenery and peaceful setting
We arrived late due to road works and diversions. We arrived at 8.15pm.The man on the desk was very rude and abrupt, didn't want our explanation.Ask about a a meal and was told that the restaurant was closed, I asked if there was any chance of something to eat, anything at all. He replied 'No'.I asked if he knew of anywhere that might be open, he shrugged his shoulders and said 'No'.So we drove back out to the local village 14 km away and found somewhere to serve us.When we arrived back at the hotel, all the front gate was in darkness. When he came to the gate, he was again very angry.Earlier he had given me two room envelopes which hold the plastic key. I put them straight in my purse. But when we arrived back after eating, there was only 1 plastic key.. he again was angry and said he had given us 2. There was no way he could have, the cards went straight into my purse. We had a room on first floor, and the other on 2nd...we we tried to use the lift, floor 2 button would not work. There was a group of staff sitting in an area on floor 3, we asked for help, but they just sat and looked at us...eventually 1 young man got up, came with us into the lift and explained that rooms with numbers 200 onwards were on floor 3!!!!!So we didn't have a very nice welcome after a very long day driving. The lady on the desk the morning we left, was very nice, and was sorry when we told her about the previous night. There are some people who are suited to hospitality.....the man on the night we arrived should NOT be on reception.I have worked in management throughout my life, I would have sacked this man.So NO, we did not enjoy our stay that night, and feel it was definitely Not worth the money.
Serene and peaceful location with stunning views and basic accomodations
Location and historical building
Size of the room was very small. Breakfast was really bad ?
The location: in the middle of French woods and on top of a hill, quiet and peaceful, as you expect from an ancient monastery.
Cleanliness and maintenance to improve.Little attentions and more accuracy would be a plus, considering the wonderful location.
Besides just staying in a Hotel it was a whole experience, there were different activities to do around and a wide variety of food options (good prices). The staff was kind and helpful.
The road to go to the property has a maximum speed of 70, but the road is narrow and on a ravine. It can also be really dangerous after a snowfall.
All, rooms, view, staff, food , the history of the place
Need a fridge un the rooms, at least to have water
The location, clean quiet room, the food at the canteen was delicious, even if a bit too expensive. The hotel itself is great, stayed for one night, loved the stay a lot. The staff speaks English, which is great for travelers from everywhere :) the bed was comfy too, had a great rest after hiking the entire day!
Check-in is somewhat late (4 PM), comparing to checkout, which is at 10 AM. The only other small inconvenience is the absence of the hairdryer in the hotel room, and I'd also add a tiny kettle so that the tired travelers can drink some hot tea even during the night.
The location and parking. Our room was fine and hearing the bells was lovely.
Lack of a kettle in the room to make a hot drink, even if tea etc wasn’t provided, a kettle would have been fine because we couldn’t get a hot drink in the evening, unless we went into the restaurant which we didn’t do. A shame the staff didn’t speak really any English at all. No where sit in the day in the hotel for guests.
the place is located on top of Mont Saint Odile with a splendid view. Most of the fellow visitors are looking for spiritual experiences so the atmosphere is super calm and conducive to meditation. It is so nicely located that you can do plenty other things - walking, hiking, cycling and of course visiting wineries. It gets a bit more crowded on Sunday at mass times, but otherwise, especially in the evening, you can enjoy the sun going down over the Vosges with a glass of a gewurztraminer and enjoy complete silence. the staff is super friendly and helpful. Rooms are basic, but very clean and cosy and the view is stunning. The only bemol was the breakfast where improvements are more than necessary.
as we all know breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Breakfast boosts brainpower and spirit... so in such a spiritual place like the Vosges we were expecting something special: simple of course but fresh and tasty. Unfortunately, the breakfast was disgusting - almost worth the toast bread slices wrapped in plastic one can find in US motels (if you know what I mean): The coffee machine was broken, orange juice was out, the offer was reduced to boiled eggs and minced ham and a colored water playing the role of apple juice. Kids were of course delighted as the only eatable thing was sweet muesli with skimmed milk. a lot of space for improvement my fellow brothers and sisters in faith. Though, the view from terrace is splendid.
The place is very quiet. I did not notice the bells until 9AM. The room was functional. The breakfast was great.
Like in many hotels, the lack of AC was a bit problematic as it was the dog days.As the place is a bit far from the closest city and the restaurant closes very early, IMO, in the evening, it might be a good idea to have diner before checking it.
Breakfast is 14Euros buffet, pretty good, cakes n cheeses n coffee, all good, nice dining hall.
All good really
The location, staff and rooms.
Amazing views, clean and up to date!
try to arrive before the night portier (8 pm) he almost didn’t let us in, and was in an awful mood.
