The staff.

My husband and I both got food-borne illness at this hotel after eating dinner in the dining room but they refused us a late check-out to recover a bit more before our flight.

It?s identified as a resort but it is not a resort. This is a hotel, just a step up from your typical Holiday Inn. Again, this is not a resort. Don?t set your hopes high, however it is a great hotel!

The hotel rooms were extremely stuffy and humid. The bathrooms were outdated and the shower was dirty. The breakfast didn?t have great selections either.

Location on the ocean with cliff top walking trails, infinity pool, indoor pool, sauna and spa. Lots of space inside and out. Gorgeous views and central location for sightseeing. Close to Ponta Delgada and airport. Can walk to next door village.

The perfect home base to explore the island. The Triple Mountain View room was perfect for me and two friends. The breakfast buffet was SO good!! All the staff were incredibly helpful and kind. HIGHLY recommend this place.

The location on the ocean was amazing

They had a beautiful infinity pool but you could not swim in it because it was really cold. Also, the tissue and over all smell was quite musty.

Hands down, the best part was the view from the room. Stunning sea views. The layout and design of the room were up-to-day, and maximized the views to the best advantage. The bed was very comfortable, and staff always greeted you kindly.

The on-site restaurant is stunning, and the local food was tasty, but the atmosphere and menu seemed disconnected from each other - as did the hotel and the restaurant.

Bathroom fan wasn?t working

Everything was really lovely, we were there in January so it was very quiet and the outdoor pool was to cold, though the indoor pool was great, the sauna and steam room needed to be turned on by staff so they were often just warm and not hot.

Loved the view from our room and the cliffside pathways near the hotel for walks. Stunning scenery. Restaurant was also delicious -- breakfast buffet was unreal there were so many choices and variety. You could also have the breakfast outside in the nice weather too which was lovely. We also had dinner twice at the resort and it was very good. Very nice staff as well at the resort overall. Very comfortable beds and nice, spacious room.

The pools were disappointing. The outside one was rather shallow and chilly -- more like a wading pool. But beautiful views from the pool area. The inside one was located in the spa area and was warm (also a bit shallow) but usually had kids in it. The spa area didn't feel very "spa-like" but I didn't use the services.

Facilities were good and varied.

Need to add more games as this place is remote from the city center

There was so much to love! The location and view were breathtaking. The staff was so accommodating and warm. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The pool and spa were fabulous. Being able to hike right off the property was so convenient. Breakfast was AMAZING!!!

Dinner was just so-so but the bar and lived music were excellent. The biggest g&t EVER!

The pool is amazing, breakfast is busy but overall a good selection. The ocean views are gorgeous. Was a great stay with our almost 2-year-old!

The couch in our room was kind of falling apart, but that was a very minimal issue.

The room itself was fine. Food and drink very good.

Our ocean view room was directly over a large astroturf roof that blocked the view… very disappointing. The pool area wasn’t cleaned up very well, and too few lounge chairs. Location was not great.
