Eidavellir Apartments and Rooms

Pros +

• Clean, light, spacious. There was everything you needed in the kitchen and even complementary coffee (and coffee filters) and collection of tea. Many bathrooms and showers, with the shampoo/toiletries. Well soundproofed, we didnt hear neighbors, comfy beds. Lovely place indeed to land in in-between north and east Iceland.
• Appartement is very spacious and comfortable - perfect for family rest after long trip from southern part of Iceland!
• The place was alright. It was very quiet on days we didnt have neighbours. The location wasnt too bad considering it was close to Egilstadir, but it was in the middle of nowhere. The apartment was spacious and warm and the beds were very comfortable. We felt like we had all we needed, but the place had many issues.

• The place itself was tad hard to find. The bathroom had all we needed, but the toilet paper wasnt enough for two days, there were only 2 tiny rolls with about 1/4th left on each. The shower pooled and didnt drain well and the shower handle needs badly a replacement. Kitchen was.. empty.. We were happy for a kettle and a toaster, but there was almost nothing to cook with. Most of the drawers and cabinets were empty. We decided to not cook at all. Layout of the place was very make-shifty, it felt like an old hospital or something similar. One of the rooms was completely cut of the main hall, was by the main entrance that had very thin glass and we could hear all the birds singing so that kept us up. One day we had neighbours and we felt like the walls were made out of paper - you could hear the chatter, plugging stuff to sockets, people showering. It was uncomfortable. Fridge also froze everything while on low setting, pretty much ruined our vegetables. We didnt mind most things, but for that price Id expect more value for the money.
