    • Everything about this hotel was 5 star. For a small boutique hotel it was quite spacious and had all the amenities. Every single staff member was friendly and greeted us with a smile. Hotel is very clean. Breakfast is plentiful. All around amazing hotel
    • Beautiful outdoor grounds and it’s located across the beach. Good breakfast!
    • Great modern design. Staff appears to take pride in the cleanliness of the property. Beautiful swimming pool and pool deck.

    Cons -

    • No!!!
    • Terrible service. The staff at the front desk don’t even look up when I say good morning. The bed was horrible!!! No bath towels for 3 nights. Used hand towels. Everyone looks like they hate their job and life. Do me a favour and clean your POS system at reception. That machine is disgustingly dirty. How do you call yourself a 5-star property?
    • Nothing really commands a negative comment.

We spent 18 nights at the Horizon joining extended family who were there for six weeks. The staff, especially Thanos, was extremely helpful and accommodating both prior to arrival and during our stay.Room:The room featured a king-sized bed and smaller bed perfect for a child or a person of small stature and it also offered a small splash pool which came in handy. The room was spacious with a TV, a full sized bathtub and separate stand alone shower stall. All toiletries were provided, including a hair dryer. The room was serviced daily and everything was spotless. We were offered bottled water, coffee/teas daily which was much appreciated, as was the mini-fridge. The air conditioning worked perfectly.Amenities:We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast daily and found the offerings varied and delicious. Both indoor and outdoor seating was available as was hot fresh coffee. You could order one complimentary specialty coffee anytime before 11:00 a.m. by asking the breakfast staff or the staff at the bar area across from the Front Desk.Grounds were well kept and clean and the staff was helpful and friendly. The pool area was large and the pool was refreshing after an afternoon at the beach which offered complimentary beach towels, cushioned loungers and umbrellas.Parking was ample and covered which was helpful in the hot summer. The beach was reachable by crossing the street where you could find padded beach loungers, chairs, and umbrellas and where you could also order beverages, snacks, and meals.

The outdoor area for breakfast was a bit overcome with wasps which could have been controlled. There is ample seating indoors however. The pool and beach chairs need to be reserved (no charge) by visiting the Front Desk and please note there is a 40 minute time-limit for showing up (subject to change). Otherwise you will be competing with many local residents who use the hotel grounds (pool and beach loungers) for their personal use. There seems to be some confusion about this practice with beach and pool staff, therefore, it is best to speak with staff at the Front Desk to secure your pool or beach loungers.

Great location next to beach and near town center. The room was comfortable. Good parking facilities. Very good breakfast buffet.

I wish rooms had USB ports for charging phones or universal plug adaptors. Hotel a bit pricey. The breakfast buffet is a very narrow room.

Clean, pleasant, uncrowded. Big and beautiful pool with pool bar service to your sitting point. Nice beach in front.

A/C in the room is noisy even when set to the lowest fan. "This was normal" according to the staff but not very comfertable during the night. Private pool in the rooms is not really "private" (visible from adjacent room's pools / balconies) and very small. Spa facilities are with extra cost and breakfast is quite standard. I'd expect more for the price we paid.

Nice hotel, good parking, nice amenities, pebble beach

It’s a little on the outskirts if you want to go into Kalamata, otherwise it’s not a problem at all.

Nice stuff, pool and great beach

Bed not comfortable, same boring food every day, no facilities like a gaming room for kids and teen, or a ping pong table. No coffee machine in the room.

All the personnel was very attentive, breakfast was great as well as the facilities. Extra credit to Thanos (super attentive). Also to Takis (many thanks for the treat)!

Room cleanliness could have been just a bit better.

    10GeorgePosted on: 6-23-2025

Wonderful aesthetics; easy access to sea with lounge chairs and umbrellas. Breakfast was awesome!

    10KarenPosted on: 5-16-2025

The entire experience was excellent. All staff, from front desk to wait staff were friendly and professional. The food was delicious, and all amenities were five star. The grounds were gorgeous and well maintained-the views were spectacular! Any needs/questions were dealt with promptly and with a smile. We highly recommend Horizon Blu and plan on staying there for subsequent visits. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The pool looked very inviting though I did t get to use it. The breakfast buffet was delicious.

The room was clean but a little run down and the bed was a little soft for me. Spa didn’t open till noon so wasn’t able to have a treatment based on my schedule.

    9TrudyPosted on: 3-11-2025

Beautiful room with a beautiful view. Great location. Friendly and helpful staff.

Breakfast - there could have been a wider choice of fresh fruit, jams, yogurts, cakes. The matress was too soft.

    9GuyPosted on: 3-10-2025

The room was very comfortable and well appointed with loungers on the terrace overlooking the pool and sea.The breakfast buffet was amazing. The free use of bicycles is a nice touch. The spa treatments were fantastic.

The lack of privacy on the room terrace - there is no full screen between terraces, so when I was sunbathing, the person in the next room came out to look at the view and they had a full view of me sitting there - and it worked both ways too. It also means it is very noisy. The indoor pool isn't heated which seems like such a waste as no-one uses it because it is so cold. You have to book to use the sauna and hammam in advance, and also pay for it, which seems unnecessary - it would be much easier if they were on all day so guests can use them whenever they want to.

Comfortable room, good breakfast, easy parking . Good massage in the Spa.

No open restaurants near by in this time of year (November), need to drive to the old town or port.

    9ChristianPosted on: 12-29-2024

Really nice room with a private pool and a view of the pool and the sea behind. Super friendly staff, especially the person showing us how to have a proper Greek breakfast. Great breakfast with a lot of local choices. Lots of nice restaurants directly at the beach in foot walking distance.

Street between the hotel and the sea, but that's true for all of Kalamata. In the end it didn't bother us at all.

    9GabriellePosted on: 12-12-2024

The hotel was beautiful and a great location. The breakfast was awesome as well, and the staff was friendly. Plenty of parking if you are driving.

The only thing that could be improved is a better hair dryer in the room.

    8MohammedPosted on: 12-11-2024

    room space wirh swimming pool

Bathroom arrangement is inconvenient for user. No need for two showers.

Our recent stay at this five-star seaside hotel in Kalamata city was great! From the moment we arrived, the warm and courteous staff made us feel truly welcome. Their professionalism and genuine hospitality were evident in every interaction, creating a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The location is absolutely stunning with great views of the sea and easy access to both the beach and the city’s attractions. Whether you’re looking to explore or unwind, this hotel offers the perfect balance. The cleanliness was impeccable, with every corner of the property – from the elegant lobby to the well-appointed rooms – maintained to the highest standards. The room itself was spacious and beautifully designed, with a huge balcony offering mesmerizing views of the coastline. If you're seeking a luxurious getaway in Kalamata with exceptional service, and unbeatable location, this hotel is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

Dark wooden furniture andwooden frames on the wall, gives a dark atmosphere to the room and does not help with the lighting especially on a dark day. The floor is quite slippery. The hair dryer needs replacement because it is weak. The first night we had quite loud music from the neighboring restaurant, probably some sort of wedding party gathering.

Just a one night stop over in November. The room was very comfortable with excellent amenities. At end of season we were

Would have appreciated a fuller bar service and restaurant facility. Breakfast was very good.
