    Pros +

    • Beautiful room and location, and views of mountains. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful.
    • Hot tub + wine + surprise Northern Lights (10-11p) = truly magical experience. After the green fairies ended their dance recital in the sky, we went inside to find a free hot chocolate/tea station at the front desk for all guests! Nice touch staff!
    • I was finally able to see the northern lights from here.

    Cons -

    • The staff charged me 8000isk for setting up a sofa bed, without notifying me before hand.
    • As every place in Iceland does, they charge for slippers and robes, so just bring your own from home :)
    • I requested a room facing the lake but they didn't give it to me even though there where plenty of rooms facing the lake available.

Picturesque location. We enjoyed our stay.

We enjoyed our stay but like many things in Iceland this hotel is little bit pricey.

We received upgrade to a luxury cottage, which was fantastic - great bed and bathroom and spacious room. The breakfast was very nice and affordable.

Easy check-in, rooms spacious, clean and comfortable; quiet

    On-site restaurant was very expensive

Nice cabin with a porch, friendly staff and various food choices for breakfast. Also, we could see the northern lights from the porch.

The hot tub turned cold at some point. We were freezing in there.

Gorgeous location, loved the spa area with beautiful views. Bungalows were spacious with great design, well equipped with Nespresso coffee machine and kettle.

We stayed in one of the separate cottages and it was perfect! Large, modern, clean and comfortable. It had a large sliding door with a private patio overlooking the golf course and mountains. A sauna and hot tub was located just steps away and a great bonus. We ate dinner at the restaurant and the food and wine was delicious! Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.

    Nothing, it was perfect.

We saw the Northern Lights right out the back sliding door of out cabin, which we were upgraded to!

Staff was great. Room clean and comfy. View out the back was of the hot tub, sauna and golf course. They kindly gave us a wake up call for the Aurora. Dinner and breakfast were very good. Lovely and comfortable.

The location was wonderful the cabins were fabulous! Go visit the Snaefell peninsula see the seals the glaciers and black beaches only 90 minutes away

This was a lovely hotel. We had one of the cottages slightly removed from the main building. The cottage had the most wonderful view, a terrace and a hot tub and sauna right outside. Breakfast was included and dinner at the restaurant was available. Great for travelers with a car as it is a bit removed ( a few kms) from Borgarnes-the main town nearby; which is a must place to visit. The food in the restaurant was delicious.

Only issue, which is general for Iceland, was the price of the food at the restaurant, but no different than the rest of the country.

    10TrangPosted on: 8-21-2025

We stayed in a one of the standalone cabins, which I would highly recommend. The unit was super clean and modern and had a wonderful view and small patio for you to sit and enjoy. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. The robes and the hot water kettle with tea cups and assorted teas and coffees were a nice touch. Breakfast at the restaurant is available for a fee but it was a nice spread with good coffee and a variety of options. Awesome shower with great water pressure.

No real complaints but the doors to the cabin were difficult to lock and the key has a MASSIVE keychain attached to it that made it a pain to carry around lol
