Hotel do Mar

Wonderful quiet location. Room was very spacious. View was amazing. Breakfast was very good and had a good selection. Over all an awesome experience.

The thing that made it such an awesome experience...the drive was a bit scary. I still recommend this hotel for anyone who likes out of the way places.

Was exploring the east coast of the island and wanted to try a new area (stayed previously in Ponta Delgado for 3 nights). Debated between the coast and Furno. The tiny coastal town was very charming with only a few restaurant and bar options but for 2 nights we were very happy with the incredible ocean/marina views and access to different hiking trails and less tourists. I was very pleased that the hotel offered a hot jacuzzi- unlike other places we stayed in Portugal. The breakfast and room were great. Beautiful decor and parking was very easy out front.

The town is small and relaxed. Great view, great staff.

I would have liked to stay longer

The fridge was not cold on arrival. Our drinks were finally cold the next morning.

This hotel was built with class, though it is somewhat dated it still holds it's class ! The balcony with ocean view was fabulous! Very comfortable bed and pillows. Hands down best scrambled eggs for breakfast, lots of choices available too !

Honestly, a little run down on some paint. But I would stay again in a heartbeat. Did I mention they have a great pool and hot tub.

Breakfast was very good. Lot to choose from and all was fresh and plentiful. The room was very nice and looked out over the marina. Unfortunately, the weather was cloudy and a bit rainy at times, but it was a nice view. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean and towels and bedding was very good.

The person on the front desk was unable to tell us when church services were in the area. That's seems to be a common question people would ask. Also, we received instruction on towel usage at the pool and hot tub and signed a form stating we would NOT use room towels for that area. When we went down and requested towels for the hot tub, we were told there weren't any available. ???? It was not a sunny, hot day so where did they go?

Location is by the ocean, close to the center. Easy to find parking. Room was good size and clean. Breakfast was nice with quite many choices.

Decor is a bit outdated.

The room is spacious and cosy, with great A/C. The bathroom is also large. It was not perfect. The shower had did not work properly and the fan was sticky. It has a bidet which we liked. The stuff was fantastic. Either the reception or cleaning, bar or restaurant were very service oriented and helpful. WIFI strong and stable. Very nice breakfast. It is located 20 minutes from Terra Nostra park and lake Furnas

The hotel has a good location, not far from the town center and not far from the beach; the rooms are spacious with a balcony for a pleasant sitting; rooms with a sea view are great; very nice and helpful staff (reception as well as hotel bar); quiet, peaceful atmosphere...

The breakfast was a bit simple, but in the end you could always choose something...

In a great location with lots of easy to access parking. The staff were wonderful and accommodating. The pool was a nice feature but there are also two beaches walking distance from the hotel. Some great restaurants and a nice grocery market also within walking distance!

The mattresses are a bit firm, but can still get a good sleep.

The accommodation is perfect for someone who doesn't want to stay in one of the main towns in Sao Miguel, but still wants to stay in a town which has several restaurants to choose from, a beach, shop - basically everything you need to explore the east part of the island.The room has a comfy bed, balcony for watching the sun rise, air-conditioning (which was especially important in the heat we experienced during our trip), a mini fridge to store your food and even a bidet.The breakfast at the hotel was great with sweet and savoury options and different cakes every morning. The swimming pool was also awesome and very nice to cool down after a busy day and there even was a jacuzzi to unwind later on in the evening (the pool is open until 10 PM).We also managed to have a drink at the bar and the cocktails were quite strong (a big thumbs up!).We were able to park in front of the hotel without any issues, apart from the first day when the parking lot was full, but we still managed to squeeze in next to the parking lot.

Lovely hotel ina lovely village, good value for money! If I was you I'd make sure you get a room with a see view!

The breakfast was rather basic for the price and style of the hotel. The view from the balcony was very nice. The cold rating rather comes from the cold behaviour of the hotel stuff. With a simple smile, it would have made the stay much much better.

Excellent front staff help and advice. Comfortable and clean rooms. Great location with beach and restaurants nearby. Very good breakfast.

Room was not ready when we arrived. Pool and bar area could be freshened up.

We enjoyed the hotel overall. The service, location, and comfort. They were exceptional to work with.

Maybe some more food choices.

Nice place to stay for a short time. The room had everything needed, breakfasts were full of eggs, fruits, yoghurts, etc, The ocean view from the room was inspiring

The room is quite small and doesn't offer sockets near a bed, I should have asked about an extension. Coffee machine also could be better
